It is so important that we continue to provide a pathway for children and provide clinics and opportunities refer junior s news below. It is also incredibly rewarding for those who spend many hours volunteering their time to foster juniors. More help is need with the junior clinics and we implore members to offer their services. If you can help in any way, please contact Phillip Peace. PRESENTATION NIGHT Another highly successful presentation night with special mention to our 2018 Ambassador and Club Person of the Year; Phillip Peace and Patti Moore. I don t think anyone could argue with this selection. Due to volunteer work overload, consideration is being given to holding presentation night on Friday nights commencing 2019.
FOUR BALL EVENTS Requests for four ball events to be included in our fixture book continue. Members reserve their normal time slot two weeks in advance, not referring to what the event is, simply to claim their time. This results in many cancellations leading into the event (as late as the evening before), resulting in members arriving to play with no partner, and in some cases, a pair, with no one to mark their card. This is unacceptable and quite selfish and creates a headache for administration. This was ridiculously evident in last Saturdays Foursomes when a total of 49 members cancelled leading into the event. VOUCHER REDEMPTION Before spending your vouchers please check the list of businesses where redemption can be claimed. The list has been revised so please check to avoid your voucher being rejected. It is important that members use their vouchers as bar credits. This is of great help to our bar revenue which is the club s main income source. We urge members use vouchers received on presentation night to top up their bar credit. If you are concerned you may not have time to redeem the value before 30 June, hold your voucher until 1 July. IRISH NIGHT The History of St Patrick (c.385-c.461) St Patrick the patron saint of Ireland was born in the village of Bannavem. He died about 461 and was buried in Downpatrick in County Armagh. On his deathbed he urged his friends not to lament, but to celebrate his comfortable exit by taking a small drop of something to drink to ease their pain. By complying with his last words, and out of reverence for his memory, is supposed to have come the Irishman s liking for whisky!!! Join us for a fun night bookings essential.
