Both players are coming off Top 10 wins in the semi-finals. This is the oldest singles final on the ATP World Tour between the 38-year-old Karlovic and 34-year-old Muller since 1977 Hong Kong where Ken Rosewall (43) d. Tom Gorman (31). Karlovic is attempting to become the oldest champion in the tournament s 28-year history while Muller is looking to become the second-oldest winner (behind Mahut last year). This is their third ATP World Tour meeting (tied 1-1), all coming on grass. Karlovic also won a Challenger match in 2003. The Croat won the last encounter in the Newport final on July 17, 2016, saving three match points in a 67(2) 76(5) 76(12) victory. There was one break for each player (Ivo held 27-18 aces advantage). They met here last year in the semi-finals and Muller won in two tiebreaks with neither player facing a break point (Muller had 22 aces to Karlovic s 21). Karlovic.is making his first ATP World Tour final showing since Aug. 13, 2016 in Los Cabos where he beat Lopez. Karlovic is appearing in his 18 th final (8-9), seventh on grass (3-3). After undergoing right shoulder surgery in December 2015, Kokkinakis has been limited by an abdominal strain to three singles events since August 2016.
