Fresno State has defeated Pepperdine (69-66), Lamar (80-72), San Francisco (78-71) and Rice (82-65) to start 4-0 for the first time since 2006. Fresno State was picked to finish fifth in the Mountain West by the league s media in a preseason poll in mid-october. JONES PROVIDING POWER IN THE PAINT Fresno State junior forward Torren Jones, who played his freshman season in the SEC at Missouri and his sophomore season at Midland Junior College, delivered a double-double in each of his first two games as a Bulldog. The last Bulldog to accomplish that feat was Dominic McGuire in 2006. Jones had 13 points and 14 rebounds to help the Dogs to a come-frombehind 69-66 season-opening victory over Pepperdine and backed it up with a career-high 19 points and added 12 rebounds in the Bulldogs 80-72 win over Lamar. Jones was the first Bulldog to post a double-double in his debut since then-freshman Greg Smith had 17 points and 10 rebounds in a 65-59 season-opening victory over San Francisco State on Nov. 13, 2009. The 14 rebounds were also the most by a Bulldog since Alex Davis had 15 in a 71-67 overtime win over Northern Arizona on Dec. 1, 2013. VERSATILE WATSON FOCUSED ON PRODUCTION Bulldogs junior guard/forward Paul Watson - the 2013-14 Mountain West Freshman of the Year - gives Fresno State a versatile option on the wing and the post. Watson has played both slots this year, primarily on the wing. This season, he has stretched opposing defenses behind 12-for-34 (35.3%) from beyond the 3-point arc forcing defenders to guard him on the perimeter, in addition to his ability to attack the basket. ELLISON, RUSSO MAKING AN IMPACT OFF THE BENCH Junior college transfers Lionel Ellison III (Coffeyville CC) and Cullen Russo (New Mexico JC) have quickly become earned key roles in the Bulldogs rotation off the bench. Ellison and Russo have both played in all four games and have averaged over 20 minutes per game. Ellison, a 6-2 point guard, is a strong defender and has efficiently run the offense with a 1.8 assist-to-turnover ratio (9-5). Russo, 6-9 versatile forward, had a doubledouble (10 points/10 rebounds) in the Bulldogs 80-72 win over Lamar on Nov. 16, 2015. Both have also made over 70 percent at the free throw line. EDO MAKING BIG STRIDES IN HIS DEVELOPMENT Karachi Edo has been a fan favorite since his arrival at Fresno State in 2013 for his high-flying athleticism and passionate play. On the floor, Edo has made significant progress during his Fresno State career - improving his scoring average to 8.8 ppg this year as a junior after doubling his scoring average to 8.0 ppg as a sophomore from 4.0 ppg as a freshman. He is also averaging 8.0 rpg up from 4.3 rpg as a sophomore from 3.3 rpg as a freshman. Edo ranks third in the MW in blocked shots (1.8 bpg). FRESNO STATE CONTINUES MW ASCENT Fresno State continued its ascension in conference play with 10 league wins and posted wins over four of the 68 teams that made it to the 2015 NCAA Tournament (Boise State, San Diego State, UC Irvine and Wyoming) during the 2014-15 season. Each of those four teams won either their regular season or conference tournament championship. The Bulldogs also earned a first-round bye as the No. 6 seed in the 2015 MW Tournament. 5 NCAA APPEARANCES (1981, 82, 84, 2000* & 01) 9 NIT APPEARANCES 1983 NIT CHAMPIONS 1 CBI 3

The Bulldogs erased an 8-point deficit with 4:26 to play by going on a 12-0 run over a 2:41 stretch. Fresno State junior forward Torren Jones posted a double-double in the win over the Waves. Jones double-double was the first by a Bulldog in his debut in exactly six years - dating back to Greg Smith s double-double as a freshman in 2009. Three different Bulldogs have recorded double-doubles this season (Jones, Russo and Edo). Harris tied a Save Mart Center record on Nov. 16, 2015 by making all 12 of his free throws to tie Kevin Olekaibe (14-for-14; Feb. 23, 2015) with a perfect clip at the line (minimum 12 attempts). Harris was named MW Player of the Week for helping lead Fresno State to a 3-0 record from Nov. 16-22, 2015 when he averaged 20.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 2.3 steals. SPOTLIGHT STATS Fresno State has won 16 straight games when leading at halftime. Fresno State is 20-6 in non-conference home games in head coach Rodney Terry s first five seasons and the Dogs are 13-2 in non-conference home games since the start of the 2013-14 season. Fresno State has scored 80 or more points in two of its first four games. The Bulldogs scored 80 or more points three times during the 2014-15 season, including two over non D-1 opponents. Fresno State is 17-2 when scoring 80 or more points in Terry s first five seasons. WIN STREAK NOTES Fresno State is on a four-game winning streak for the third time in Terry s first five seasons. The longest winning streak in Terry s tenure is five straight victories (Jan. 29-Feb. 15, 2014). The longest winning streak in school history is 13 straight victories (Jan. 24-March 7, 1981). Fresno State last won five straight non-conference games in 2006 (Nov. 10-Dec. 2, 2006). V is for Valley Fresno State prides itself on being the Valley s team. This pride can be seen in the form of a green V on the Bulldogs uniforms, as a symbol to the agricultural community of the Central Valley of California. The San Joaquin Valley is the world s richest agricultural region in export dollars. Fresno State Identification The University s formal name is California State University, Fresno. Fresno State is the acceptable shorter, less formal name for the university. It is acceptable as a first text reference, as well as subsequent references. For athletics department purposes, the University prefers to be called simply Fresno State - never Fresno State University and never shorten to Fresno. For graphics or abbreviations, we ask that you please use FS - not FSU, CSUF or Fresno. MARVELLE HARRIS GUARDS Starters Returning: Marvelle Harris, Julien Lewis, Paul Watson Starters Lost: None Returning Letterwinner: Cezar Guerrero Newcomers: Sam Bittner, Ountae Campbell, Lionel Ellison III, Jaron Hopkins (redshirting), Grant Shell, Deshon Taylor (redshirting) and Jahmel Taylor The Fresno State men s basketball team plays 18 regular season home games inside the Save Mart Center during the 2015-16 season. The Mountain West is one of the best leagues in the country, Fresno State head coach Rodney Terry said. We have a very challenging non-conference schedule that will prepare us for conference play. We play on the road against both teams that made the Pac-12 tournament championship game this past season. Our team will be tested throughout the non-conference. Fresno State, who returns first-team All-Mountain West guard Marvelle Harris for his senior season, opened the regular season at home for the first time in four seasons. The Bulldogs hosted the Pepperdine Waves on Nov. 13 in the first of three-straight home games to start the season. The Dogs then beat Lamar University 80-72 (Nov. 16) and San Francisco 78-71 (Nov. 19) to close out the three-game season-opening homestand. Fresno State then earned an 82-65 road win at Rice (Nov. 22). Those games were the first three of four games that Fresno State will play in as part of the 2015 Roundball Showcase -- a multi-team tournament with all games played at campus sites. The tournament finale for the Dogs will be at home against Delaware State (Nov. 27). After playing in the Roundball Showcase, the Bulldogs will go on the road for three of the next four games with contests at Oregon (Nov. 30), Cal Poly (Dec. 5) and Arizona (Dec. 9). Both Arizona and Oregon played in the 2015 Pac-12 Tournament championship game. Arizona later reached the Elite Eight and Oregon advanced to Round of 32 in the 2015 NCAA Tournament. Fresno State closes out its non-conference schedule with four home games in December. The Dogs will host Pacific (Dec. 12), Bakersfield (Dec. 16), Evansville (Dec. 20) and Pacific Union College (Dec. 27). Earlier in December, Fresno State will also host The Master s College (Dec. 3), who, like Pacific Union, is an NAIA member institution. With a total of nine non-conference regular season home games, this is the first time that the Bulldogs will host 18 regular season home games since the 2006-07 season, when Fresno State went 15-3 at home, started the season 7-0 overall and finished 22-10 while earning an appearance in the NIT. KARACHI EDO FORWARDS Starters Returning: Karachi Edo Starters Lost: None Newcomers: Nate Grimes (redshirting), Torren Jones and Cullen Russo The Bulldogs steady ascent under Terry s leadership included 10 wins during Mountain West action last season, which marked the program s most league victories in eight seasons and the third-straight season with more conference wins than the previous year. Fresno State will begin Mountain West play on the road in Las Vegas when the Dogs travel to play at UNLV on Dec. 30 at the Thomas & Mack Center -- the same site that will host the league s conference tournament held March 9-12. The Bulldogs home conference schedule will feature New Mexico (Jan. 2), Nevada (Jan. 6), San Jose State (Jan. 16), Wyoming (Jan. 27), UNLV (Feb. 6), San Diego State (Feb. 10), Utah State (Feb. 20), Air Force (Feb. 24) and Colorado State (March 2). As part of the MW s rotational 18-game conference slate, Fresno State will not host Boise State or travel to Fort Collins to play at Colorado State this season. For the 2015-16 season, Fresno State returns its starting backcourt and several other key veterans from last year s squad, including three senior guards (Cezar Guerrero, Marvelle Harris and Julien Lewis). Harris figures to be a leading candidate in the MW Player of the Year conversation as an important leader for a Bulldog squad focused on contending for the program s first conference championship since 2003 and first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2001. The Dogs last reached postseason play in 2014 when Fresno State advanced to the College Basketball Invitational championship series. Guerrero and Lewis have played in the Big-12, with Guerrero playing his freshman season at Oklahoma State and Lewis playing his first two collegiate seasons for Texas. Guerrero is a dynamic point guard and Lewis is known for his relentless defense. Both also averaged over 10 points per game last season for Fresno State. Paul Watson, the 2014 Mountain West Freshman of the Year, returns for his junior season and was also a double-digit scorer last year. High-flying forward Karachi Edo is also back for his junior campaign after a strong sophomore season in which he averaged eight points and over four rebounds per game. Season tickets for the 2015-16 season start at $149 and include all 18 regular season games, as well as the Bulldogs exhibition game versus Dominican University on Nov. 6. TERRELL CARTER II CENTERS Starters Returning: None Starters Lost: Alex Davis Letterwinner Returning: Terrell Carter II Newcomers: None BULLDOGS READY TO COMPETE IN MOUNTAIN WEST Dogs Go Undefeated During Italy Tour The Fresno State men s basketball team wrapped up its Italy Tour in style with an emphatic 90-64 victory over the Latina All-Stars. The win capped a 3-0 undefeated tour of Italy for the Bulldogs, who also beat the Vedano All-Stars and Vicenza All-Stars earlier on the 10-day overseas trip. I think our guys had pretty good efforts every night out, Terry said. I thought we shot the ball pretty well. We ve placed an emphasis on our rebounding and we ll keep getting better at that. Our seniors did a really good job doing things that we have asked them to do in leading our team. Bulldogs to Be Featured on National Television The Fresno State men s basketball team is slated to play at least 15 games on national television through the Mountain West s broadcast relationships with ESPN, CBS Sports Network and ROOT SPORTS, and road games at Oregon and Arizona. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our program and university to a national audience throughout the year, Fresno State head coach Rodney Terry said. The Mountain West has some of the best teams and environments in the country. We look forward to seeing the Red Wave back at the Save Mart Center all season. ESPN Loves the Dogs With six games set for broadcast on one of ESPN s Family of Networks this season, the Bulldogs will have played 20 games on an ESPN network in a three-season span. The six ESPN Networks games this season are: at UNLV (Dec. 30 -- ESPN3), at San Diego State (Jan. 19 -- ESPNU or ESPN3), vs. Wyoming (Jan. 26 -- ESPNU or ESPN3), vs. UNLV (Feb. 6 -- ESPN3), at New Mexico (Feb. 27 -- ESPN2 or ESPN3) and at Utah State (March 5 -- ESPN3). Known as an outstanding recruiting and bench coach, Terry s resume includes coaching two national players of the year and 11 appearances in the NCAA 2015-16 FRESNO STATE MEN S BASKETBALL GAME NOTES Rodney Terry Fresno State Head Coach 5th Season st. edward s (1990) tournament. Under Terry s tutelage, 13 players in the last decade have been selected in the NBA Draft, including nine first-round and five lottery picks (Kevin Durant, LaMarcus Aldridge, D.J. Augustin, T.J. Ford and Tristan Thompson). In 2014-15, Terry continued his ascension in conference with 10 league wins and posted wins over four of the 68 teams that reached the NCAA Tournament (Boise State, San Diego State, UC Irvine and Wyoming). With the win over then-no. 25 San Diego State, Terry guided the Bulldogs to the program s first victory over a team ranked in the top 25 since 2002. The 10 conference wins marked the third-straight season that Terry led the Dogs to more league victories than the previous season. He also coached junior guard Marvelle Harris to first-team All- Mountain West and All-Defensive team honors. Harris was the first Bulldog to earn first-team all-conference accolades since 2008. In 2013-14, Terry led the Bulldog to the program s first 20-win season and postseason appearance in seven years with Fresno State reaching the finals of the 16-team College Basketball Invitational. He coached guard/forward Paul Watson to Mountain West Freshman of the Year honors, along with two other all-conference selections in Harris and senior guard Tyler Johnson. In league play, he led Fresno State to a fifth-place finish and orchestrated the best turnaround in conference history by guiding the Bulldogs to a 9-9 record in MW play after starting the league slate 1-7. No MW team had started that 1-7 or 0-8 had ever won more than a total of four conference games. The Bulldogs closed the regular season by winning eight of their last ten games. During the 2012-13 season, Fresno State scored a historic sweep of UNLV, including the program s first-ever road win over the Rebels, and handed Wyoming its second loss of the year after the Cowboys started 14-1. As a league, the MW earned the NCAA s best Ratings Performance Index and had five NCAA Tournament teams. In his first season at Fresno State in 2011-12, the Bulldogs ranked third in the state of California in attendance playing in the 15,596-seat Save Mart Center to finish ahead of the Pac-12 s Stanford, UCLA and USC. Terry instilled a relentless work ethic and passion in the Bulldogs culture. He guided Fresno State to a series of fearless rallies highlighted by a road win at the Pac-12 s Arizona State and a neutral site NIT Season Tip Off win over SMU. Prior to joining the Bulldog family, Terry was a central architect of Rick Barnes program at Texas for nine seasons and led the Longhorns to the NCAA Tournament in each of his nine seasons in Austin. This included a trip to the Final Four in 2003, the Elite Eight in both 2006 and 2008 and four Sweet Sixteen showings. Overall, the Longhorns posted a 232-80 (.744) record and produced 20-win seasons in all nine seasons of Terry s tenure. For seven weeks prior to coming to Texas, Terry served on Jerry Wainwright s staff at the University of Richmond after spending the previous four seasons under Wainwright at UNC-Wilmington. Prior to joining the staff at UNCW, Terry served two years as an assistant coach at Baylor (1996-98). He spent one season (1995-96) as the varsity coach at Angleton (Texas) High School and two years as the head coach at Somerville (Texas) High School. Terry posted a 15-13 mark at Angleton and a 49-21 overall record at Somerville, where he led the school to the Class 2A state semifinals in 1993-94. He also worked for two years (1991-93) as an assistant coach at Austin Bowie (Texas) High School. SAVE MART CENTER In its 13th year as the home of the Fresno State men s and women s basketball programs and the volleyball program, the Save Mart Center is recognized around the nation as being one of the finest oncampus collegiate arenas, and was named the No. 2 top collegiate venue by Pollstar in 2012, the leading trade publication for the concert and entertainment industry. With its size, scope, unique architectural features and video, sound and telecom systems, the Save Mart Center will serve as the major provider of entertainment and sporting events for decades to come. Seating capacity for the arena ranges from 15,000 to 18,000 seats, with 15,596 listed as the official number for basketball. The Save Mart Center is a premier entertainment destination for headline events and tours. Designed by Sink Combs Dethlefs (Denver, Colo.), the Save Mart Center is approximately 450,000 square feet and contains 32 private suites, 1,000 Arena Builder seats (commonly referred to as club seats ), a club level concourse, team locker rooms and athletics training facilities. The entire facility is approximately 48 acres and located off Shaw Avenue adjacent to Highway 168. The total project value exceeded $100 million and represented the largest privately funded project in the history of the California State University system. The Save Mart Center was financed through revenue from corporate sponsorships, private gifts, leasing of luxury suites, sale of Arena Builder and personal seat licenses, as well as revenue from advertising and signage agreements. Next to the Save Mart Center is the West Complex, a $17.6 million, two-story, 92,000-squarefoot building which features the Student Recreation Center, the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the high-tech Leon and Pete Peters Educational Research Center. The Save Mart Center has hosted four major collegiate sporting championships, which most recently came in March 2012 when Fresno State hosted an NCAA women s basketball championship regional for the second time. In March 2004, the facility served as the host site for the McCaffrey WAC Basketball Tournament. The following year, the Save Mart Center was the venue for the first and second rounds of the 2005 NCAA women s basketball championship. In 2007 and 2012, Fresno State was one of four schools that hosted the regional semifinals and championship games for the NCAA women s basketball tournament.
