Zones Metro 2015/16 In 2015/16, Clubs and Schools who previously played in the Breakers Junior Cricket League will be playing in the newly-formed Sixers or Thunder Girls Cricket League Zones. The introduction of all-girls teams from Greater Western Sydney will be the most significant change to the metro landscape this season. Zones - Regional 2015/16 After a successful first year in Metro Sydney, Cricket NSW is set to roll-out the Sixers and Thunder Girls Cricket Leagues in Regional NSW. Guided by a strategy which will see significant growth of entry-level participation, the new Leagues will be adapted to suit the local markets, whilst maintaining consistency in format and rules for optimal participation and talent outcomes. How to Join Clubs / Schools All junior clubs and independent schools in the Sydney Metropolitan region are welcome to enter girl s teams in the Sixers or Thunder Girls Cricket League. Fees All Clubs or Schools who enter teams in either a Sixers Girls Cricket League or Thunder Girls Cricket League will pay $150 per team per season. That is: Spring Season - $150 Summer Season - $150 Cricket NSW invoices Clubs at the conclusion of each of the above seasons. Fees contribute to (but not limited to) the following: Insurance Competition Administration Marketing (Websites, videos, advertisements) Promotions (CNSW/WBBL player appearances, event opportunities) Finals series (Umpires, Grounds, Balls) Equipment Clubs need to supply their own equipment for participation in the Leagues. This includes: Item Description Compulsory 1 x Cricket Ball 142g per game 2 piece; recommend Kookaburra Red King or equivalent 20 x Field Markers Both teams contribute each match 1 x set of Wooden Stumps Both teams contribute each match 1 x Ball Counter for umpires Both teams contribute each match 1 x Score Book for scorers Include pencils & eraser 45m string or measuring tape To mark boundaries Chalk To mark creases First Aid Kit (incl. sunscreen) Recommended Team Kit (bats and protective equip.) Grounds All Clubs need to supply a home ground where possible (if this is not provided, home games may be played a considerable distance away speak to our Competition Manager for assistance). Grounds need to have a good to very good playing surface, as well quality synthetic pitch in order to allow for a quality experience for the players and spectators alike. Venues should have clean amenities, preferably with female changing facilities. There should also be ample shade for both competing teams and spectators. Uniforms This year, Clubs will supply their own playing shirts and caps, as per 2014/15. Clubs are strongly encouraged to provide colourful shirts for their players, in line with the modern trend for sports participation, not least the WBBL! Please note that this season Cricket NSW will be providing all teams the opportunity to have a Sixers Girls Cricket League logo sublimated onto their playing shirts FREE OF CHARGE. The process: 1. Clubs take team shirts to one of the Kingsgrove Sports stores listed below. Note there is a maximum of 12 shirts per team as part of this offer (Clubs will have to pay for extra shirts) 2. Kingsgrove Sports will sublimate the Thunder Girls Cricket League logo onto existing team shirts (sublimate means print logo on shirts, as opposed to embroider) 3. Clubs collect team shirts when ready 4. Kingsgrove invoice Cricket NSW for the process (max 12 per team) With the Spring Season commencing October 10, please allow ample time for this process contact Julie Muir at Kingsgrove HQ to discuss if required.
