Mendoza named STL Player of the Month The Cardinals announced on Wednesday that 3B Evan Mendoza has been named St. Louis s Minor League Player of the Month for May. Between High-A Palm Beach and Springfield, the 21 year old hit.369 (38x103) with two homers and 10 RBIs, logging an.895 OPS in 28 games. Also named a 2018 Florida State League Midseason All-Star, Mendoza is currently 2 nd in the Cardinals organization with a.332 average this season, just one point behind his former teammate at NC State, C Andrew Knizner (1 st,.333). Thomas on a tear OF Lane Thomas s two blasts on Tuesday marked the second multi-home run performance of his career, both of which have come in the last three games. On a current five-game hitting streak, Thomas is 9x23 with four homers and 11 RBIs.
