Players will work on all aspects of their shooting game, from power shots to finishing with style. US coaches will teach various shooting techniques before putting players into scrimmage type games designed to promote goal scoring. The camp will also feature goalkeeper instruction, where coaching will be given on all aspects of this specialist position. So, whether you are an outfield player looking to improve your shooting skills or a goalkeeper looking to make game winning saves, this is the right camp for you! My back to the goal, physically fighting off defenders, trying to bang my goals in, every week I have to do the business for this club. That's the life of a striker. Ruud van Nistelrooy

Monday Introduction To Shooting & v & v Situations v reak-aways Players are split into two groups and form two lines. One team has a ball each. Player start in opposite boxes facing each other. Once the player with the ball takes his st touch, the player without the ball can chase.. Players sprint towards goal, v.. dd a defender, in front of goal. v Shooting The coach calls out one number. E.g. Number! The front player from the number line, runs towards the goal and shoots. Once that player has shoot, the coach call another number Number 4! The first player from that line, attacks the goal while number defends. Once play stops (a goal scored, shot missed or defender wins the ball) The coach calls out another number. Number. Number 4 defends and attacks...and so on. Play v. ( Number defend! and & 6 attack! ) 4 eat the defender Player passes to player. Once the ball has been passed, player pressures the ball. Player tries to beat player. (v) Once play stops (a goal scored, shot misses or defender wins the ball) Players move one station to the left. move to, to and back to. ) dd attacker (v)

Monday Introduction To Shooting & v & v Situations v Shooting/ttacking Goal keeper punts the ball to player or in wide positions. s soon as goal keeper has punted defenders D & E can run out to defend. ttackers need a good touch on the ball and then attack defenders at speed to create a scoring opportunity. Goal keeper can practice kicking skills. Rotate attackers and defenders. Play v, 4v4 etc. Increase or decrease of attackers or defenders. Goal keeper begins with a goal kick. D D D GK E E E v Switching to create shooting opportunities v to goals. Players have to keep possession of the ball until a shooting opportunity becomes available. Variations ) Left foot shots only ) Shoot to be made within passes ) dd Goalkeeper v First To Score s above, players are in two teams but within each team they are divided into attackers and defenders (rotate). ttackers and defenders stand to the side of each goal post, all attackers have a ball. On the coaches command an attacker from one team and a defender from the other run out to play v. There are two v s playing simultaneously. Therefore, first team to score get the point. Variations: v/v depending upon space Shooting (with run around combination play) Player passes to and runs around. On the call lays ball off to and then makes a run to the back post. shoots at goal and is at back post for rebound. Have a line of players behind &. a & change places after each turn. SHOOT Player runs around in the other direction shooting with left foot.

Tuesday Shooting For Increased Power & v & 4v4 Situations Sin in Coach shooting practice game. Coach has all soccer balls and rolls ball to player who must run forward and take first time shot. few seconds after rolling ball, coach rolls ball, which player must hit first time after striking the first ball. all is a distance shot and needs power (laces). all is a close range shot and needs placing (side foot pass to corner of the goal). If player misses both shots, he goes into his team s sin bin; if he scores goal, he is in the game and returns to back of his line. If player scores goals (i.e. both shots) they free a player on there team who is in the sin bin (first player in, first out). Now it is player s turn. Have goalkeepers who take it in turns when not in goal, go behind and retrieve balls for the coach. First team to have all players in the sin bin loses. ) Reinforce coaching points above. v Switching to create shooting opportunities v to goals. Players have to keep possession of the ball until a shooting opportunity becomes available. Variations ) Left foot shots only ) Shoot to be made within passes ) dd Goalkeeper 4v4 or 5v5 or 6v6 Normal game, UT only one goal in the middle ) Play wide to then cross or shoot. ) Place goal on half way line in center circle or set own area (acts as GK area) no one allowed in center circle to encourage long distance shooting. ) If play gets too congested have neutral players at corners of the playing area to allow ball to be played out of pressured areas (acts as a release). Central Goal Keeper In a small sided field play with a central goal and goal keeper with attackers v s defenders in each half of the field. There is only one ball and players must stay on their designated side of the field. When a goal is scored play continues on the other side and if the keeper saves the shot then the ball is past to the other side. Throw ins are taken from the side lines and at the back of each field. v gives attackers an advantage and more opportunities to shoot. Defenders are encouraged to win the ball and pass it wide of the goal to their attacking team mates on the other side.
