It is bldy, and results have ranged frm the Russians being mwn dwn like grass t the Germans being grund int the dirt. A Russian frce has infiltrated the German lines with rders t eliminate a German strngpint. Their rders are t take the hill and destry the German frce r nt return at all.
Terrain Ntes: This scenari is designed fr play n a 6 x 4 ft table. The center is dminated by a 2-4 cntur hill n which the German frces are dug-in. The exact cnfiguratin f the frtificatin is nt specified, but it shuld have the fllwing characteristics: It is cnsidered pen grund. Units in the entrenchements are cnsidered dug-in in the pen. It shuld have at least tw lines f entrenchments. The tp f the hill shuld have sme emplacements fr the German heavy gun. The uter ring f the frtificatin is surrunded with a barbed-wire bstacle, and all f the barbed-wire bstacles shuld be within 2" (pint blank infantry range) f the nearest pint f the utermst entrenchments. On the Nrth (upper part f the map), the barbed wire shuld nly cver the frnt f bastins. T the suth (twards the wds), it shuld be slid. The German can specify that 6 2" sectins f the barbed wire actually cntain minefields as well as wire. The exact lcatin f the mines must be written dwn befre the game begins.. There is an detached entrenchment at C that als can be cvered by wire The crestline f the hill runs dwn the center f the map. Units n the crest line can see t either side f the hill, ther units cannt see ver the crestline as per the crestline rules n p.16. The rad frm "A" t "D" is an unpaved rad. There is a single built-up sectr at the bridge. The stream is a "wide r deep" stream requiring a breach/bg-dwn check fr vehicles. The wds at B and the bttm f the map are cnsidered "Wds with Underbrush" Russian ff-bard artillery is cnsidered t riginate frm map edge D. German riginates n map edge A.
Russian Frces: Starting in Wds B. 1 entire Rifle Battalin BG-06 p.64. Discipline rating Experienced. Nte that there are several different cnfiguratins fr the infantry in BG-06. Use any ne yu want. Three sapper squads (RU-20). These may be attached as desired t the infantry ME. See special rules belw. 1 Frward bserver cntrlling an ff-bard battery cnsisting f 2 sectins f 120mm mrtars in direct supprt. Discipline rating Experienced. The attached mrtar cmpany (FS-01) is nt mtrized. Russian units beginning in area B may start the game hidden in the wds. The Russians have had time t preregister their artillery and thus may fire cncentratin missins. The Russians have a 3 template standing barrage f 122mm artillery available n turn 1 and 2. The sappers may cut lanes in the barbed wire as fllws: They mve up t and cnfrm t the wire They breach the wire withut rlling fr bg-dwn. Once in the wire they may expend ne actin t cut a ne inch gap in the wire. This is then cnsidered pen grund fr all ther units. If they hit a minefield, they are attacked after the breach actin. They d nt have time t clear a path thrugh the mines in this scenari, but they may still cut a gap. The Russian ff-bard mrtar battery and rganic mrtar cmpany each may fire ne smke missin (nte that each sectin des nt have a separate smke missin, yu get ne fr the entire unit. Essentially, yu can fire tw smke missins during the game). Arriving n r after turn 1 at pint A One Tank Battalin (ME-02) cnsisting f 7 T-34/76 (RU-02) tanks (6+cmmander). Discipline Rating:Trained One Submachinegun cmpany (ME-06) cnsisting f 10 SMG stands (RU-18) (9+cmmander). Discipline Rating:Experienced transprted as tank riders. The frce entering at A des nt need t cnduct a maneuver check n the turn that they enter the bard.

The infantry d nt have Panzerfausts. The Germans have a Frward bserver (GE-48) cntrlling an ff-bard fire supprt battery f 2 105mm hwitzers in direct supprt. The German ff-bard artillery and n-bard mrtar may fire ne smke missin each (but prbably will have better things t d). The Germans have preregistered their artillery. At least ne German cmpany must cver the Nrth side f the hill in the initial setup. All Germans are veterans. German frces must start within the entrenchments r in the utlying building r entrenchment at "C". All German frces start hidden, but the 150mm gun may be sptted because f its size and the terrain.
Scenari Cnditins Game Length:15 turns Russians mve first in each game turn Victry Cnditins: There must be n undisrdered Germans n the tp level f the hill at the end f the game. Cmments: Urrah. As the hill is pen terrain, the Germans are easier t see than they nrmally wuld be. Dug-in infantry in the pen is sptted ut t 10" nce it begins t sht. The 150mm hwitzer is a large gun. Once it starts firing, it will be prbably be sptted, and befre that frward bservers will prbably be able t see it. Hwever, the 50mm AT, 20mm AA and mrtar (small guns) will be much harder t spt. Smke: The Russians must time their smke attacks carefully. They want t blunt the effect f the German veteran ambush fire. Read the barbed wire and verrun rules carefully. Withut Panzerfausts, the German infantry can be verrun by the Russian armr almst with impunity, but an verrun in a dug-in psitin nly causes a suppressin result.
