PAGE 2 SOMETHING FREE AND WORTHWHILE BELOW JANUARY IDPA MATCH The monthly IDPA match was held on Sunday January 7 with 30 shooters including 6 seniors, four ladies and two new shooters. There were four 18 round Stages (the maximum round count per stage allowed in IDPA) and one Stage shot from inside and around a vehicle, everyone had fun and again there were no DQ s this month! The overall best was Glenn Shelby, with Adam Kelly, Adam Martinez, Larry Johnson and Dave McCall rounding out the top five. There were 23 shooters on the Most Accurate list, meaning they had no hits on Non-Threat targets. Tied for 1st were Glenn Shelby and Adam Kelly with 2 points down. There were four shooters including Glenn and Adam with three stages 0 points down and three shooters with two stages 0 points down. The Non-Threat targets had almost as good a day as the shooters! Of Note, the majority of IDPA shooters are everyday folks like me that will probably never make the top five but that s not why we shoot IDPA. We shoot IDPA because it s FUN and we get to practice defensive shooting skills in an exciting but SAFE environment. We have a new shooter orientation before the match begins so come out and watch, ask questions and decide if you would like to play cops and robbers with us. The best part is the bad guys don t shoot back! Our next match will be Sunday February 4th, set up at 9am and shoot at 10am. For more information you can visit the SJWF website and click on the SJDPA tab. To get your name on the sign up list email our Match Director Tom Maddox sjdpa2@gmail.com. See you there! David Collinsworth.
