WELCOME TO THE WESTERN 2016 Hello shooters. Welcome to The Western, 2016 West Coast IDPA Championship. This is a Tier 4 match, with competitors earning (3) national match points. Welcome to the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center. SVSC is owned and operated by Folsom Shooting Club, Inc., and is the premier outdoor shooting range on the West Coast and the largest and best privately held range West of the Mississippi. The match will take advantage of three different ranges on the property; Range 2 (Action Pistol), Range 7, and Range 8 (Diamond Dick's Cowboy Town.) Staff will be shooting the match on Thursday and Friday. Spectators are welcome, however all spectators must have signed the waiver, and eye and hearing protection are required. Spectators are NOT allowed inside the stage boundaries. Competitors entering the bays will result in a match DQ. Registration opens Friday at 10:00a at Range 2 only and will go until 4:00p. Registration will again open on Saturday morning at 6:00am. On Saturday, squads 1-7 will register at Range 2, squads 8-14 will register at Cowboy Town. Shooters meeting will be at 7:30am and the match will begin at 8:00am sharp. Shooters will shoot all 7 stages then switch ranges and shoot 2 more stages at the opposite range. Squad numbers correspond with the stage you will be starting on. When you switch ranges, squad 1 will report to stage 8, squad 2 to stage 9 and vice versa. MATCH LOCATION Sacramento Valley Shooting Center 15501 Meiss Road Sloughhouse, CA 95683 www.sacvalley.org The Center is located approximately 15 miles southeast of the city of Sacramento. Do not use car based GPS or Internet/electronic maps for directions to the range as they often have you entering from Dillard Road. Meiss from Dillard is an unpaved, nearly impassible rock road. Some protesters are armed and some are not. If they make it to your car, they will see your 2nd Amendment and Law Enforcement support stickers, they ve already broken your windshield. You fear for your safety, its time to act! START: Sitting in car, hands on steering wheel at 2 and 10. Gun on the seat next to you, loaded to division capacity. Reloads on belt. STAGE PROCEDURE: At the signal, push out windshield with both hands then retrieve gun and engage T1 through T7, PP1 - PP2 and T8 (Swinger) in tactical priority while seated in the car. Nevertheless, you manage to grab your back up gun and ammo inside a secret compartment and unlock the trunk when the kidnappers pull over at a rest stop. It s time to save your life! START: Start at P1, kneeling anywhere inside trunk and facing downrange with gun loaded at low ready. It turns out domestic jihadists don t take kindly to your recently published editions. A group of aggravated terrorists has stormed the office, intent on killing you and your Infidel staff. Defend yourself and your team. START: Standing centered in elevator at P1, with hand relaxed at sides. STAGE PROCEDURE: On buzzer, open elevator with STRONG hand, and then draw and engage T1-T4. Over the past few years you have been targeted several times by thugs trying to deprive you of your property and your life. Unfortunately, today is the day they are coming for you again Defend yourself and your customers. START: Standing at P1, hands relaxed at sides. Pickup gun is loaded and positioned in box A. Shooters gun is loaded to division capacity, and positioned in box C. STAGE PROCEDURE: At signal, retrieve revolver and engage T1-T2, and PP1 at P1 or on the move toward P2. At P2, safely dump revolver in box B, Shooter retrieves their gun from box C and engages T3-T4 at P2, and T5-T6 at P3 in tactical priority using available cover. Since the infamous Folsom Prison is close by, you take your handgun and extra magazines. At midnight you hear noises and when you step outside your tent you see several inmates from the prison. They ask if you have alcohol and demand the keys to your car, using their prison-made shanks to threaten you. Time to act! START: Kneeling inside tent, hands naturally at sides. Gun is in open bag next to you, unloaded, with the slide forward. Spare magazines in bag as well. STAGE PROCEDURE: At the signal, retrieve gun, load and engage all targets in tactical priority with a minimum or 3 rounds each. NOTE: Muzzle Safe Point = orange cones. Page 17

You know what to do! START: Start seated at P1, gun loaded to division capacity, placed in your tactical man-bag. Hands on knees at start. STAGE PROCEDURE: On signal, retrieve gun from bag, engage T1-T4, and then PP1 and/or PP2 until they fall. Engage pop-up target T5, and then any remaining steel, as required. All shots taken while seated. Note: All reloads are on shooters belt at start. Either PP1 or PP2 will activate pop-up target T3. Once shooter engages PP1 or PP2, remaining targets can be engaged in any order. Page 19

You engage the pit bulls but then the owners come out and they are armed and want revenge. They point guns at you and grab your dogs by the collar in an attempt to steal them. Pull your dogs to safety and stop the threats! START: Standing a P1, gun holstered and loaded to division capacity. STAGE PROCEDURE: At the signal, draw and engage T1, T2 and T3 (dogs) in tactical priority from P1. Then move to P2 and, and from low cover, grab one leash at a time, activating and engaging T4, T5, and T6. Page 21

STAGE PROCEDURE: At signal, turn, draw, and engage T1-T3 with 2 rounds each. Next perform an emergency reload. At P2, re-engage T1-T3 with 2 rounds each. Perform a mandatory tactical reload/rwr. At P3 re-engage T1- T3 with 2 rounds each. Note: Shooters must stand directly up range of barrels while shooting. Reloads may be accomplished at, or anywhere between shooting positions. One of them fires a round into the window and hits you in the support side arm, disabling it. Draw you gun and save yourself. Be careful, they have a hostage! START: Standing at P1, support side arm is down along your side. Strong hand is on counter. Gun holstered and loaded to division capacity. STAGE PROCEDURE: At the signal, open the drive-thru window, with your strong hand then draw and engage T1 through T4 with 3 rounds minimum strong hand only in tactical priority, using available cover. It s time to use your training to defend yourself and your loved ones. START: At P1, on steps of ladder where indicated, holding pruning shears in strong hand, and gun loaded to division capacity and holstered. Before you can apologize, he pulls out a gun, his posse has knives and guns. START: Start at P1, holding smartphone with support hand, facing downrange with gun loaded to division capacity and holstered. STAGE PROCEDURE: At the signal, drop smartphone, kick PP1 down, then engage T1-T2 from retention in tactical sequence, and then T3 while moving to P2. Then engage T4-T7 in tactical priority from P2. NOTE: Retention defined as elbow of shooting arm touching body, with shooting arm parallel to ground. Page 35
