Queen Elizabeth College SPORTS BULLETIN 2014

The College offers a wide range of sports Students can elect to play 4 sports over one year. A student wishing to play more than 4 sports must seek approval from the Sports Coordinator and Finance Officer All Fees must be paid to the school office. Please specify specific sports code when making a payment The sports code and permission slips must be signed by parent and student and returned to the Sports Coordinator before any place in a team is confirmed. The code is to encourage College and Team commitment Students can only play for an outside club if it is a higher grade than the top college team(s) and after seeking approval from the Principal and SportsCoordinator Where appropriate (for most sport teams) students must have their own Maroon PE Shorts. The sports fees, equipment, uniform requirements and playing days listed in the booklet are as accurate as possible at the time of printing. There may be changes after code associations have met. Fees quoted cover costs of team registrations, first aid and relevant equipment SPORTS FEES MUST BE PAID BEFORE THE FIRST COMPETITION GAME SPECIFIC FEES AND DEADLINES FOR PAYMENT FOR ONE-OFF COMPETITIONS AND TOURNAMENTS WILL BE ADVISED AS THEY OCCUR Please Note: Sports will only run if there are sufficient Coaches, Managers, Team Members All gear provided by the school must be returned to the coach/manager in good condition. Students will be invoiced for lost or damaged Sport Uniforms Students who do not return uniform and any other gear issued to them for sport will not be permitted to play in their sports codes until the uniform/gear has been returned.

Sports Fees Payment Information. The fee for any given sport covers the cost of Team Registration, first aid, relevant equipment and also makes a contribution to uniform replacement. The cost to play sport is not covered by regular school fees. IT IS NOT A DONATION. The school receives no government funding for extra-curricular sport and cannot afford to fund this extra-curricular activity. Sports Fees must be paid. Sports fees must be paid or students will not be permitted to play. There are three key options for the payment of sports fees. 1. Payment in Full prior to the first competition game (preferred) 2. Automatic payment this option is only available where an automatic payment already exists and regular weekly or fortnightly payments are being received by the school. The Finance Officer must approve this option prior to the first game. 3. A 30% deposit is made toward the payment of the sport fee prior to the first competition game and then a $5.00 payment is made every week at the office until the total fee is paid. If the weekly $5.00 payments are not made the student (except in special and prior approved circumstances) will be stood down from that week s game and until the weekly payments are resumed.

Be committed to your team. Attend all practices and matches. 5. Never argue with officials. Control your temper at all times. 6. Work equally hard for yourself and your team. 7. Be a good sport. Applaud all good play, whether by your team or your opponent. 8. Remember the goals of the game are to have fun, improve your skills and feel good. 9. Use appropriate and acceptable language. COACH CODE OF CONDUCT 1. Positively reinforce the actions of players. 2. Lead by example. 3. Be honest with yourself and players. 4. Create an enjoyable environment in which to play the game. 5. Develop team respect for officials. 6. Give all players the opportunity to participate in the game. 7. Insist on fair play and discipline. 8. Be reasonable on the demand on players time, energy and enthusiasm. 9. Encourage sportsmanship. 10. Use appropriate and acceptable language. SPECTATOR/PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT 1. Applaud the performance of both teams. 2. Be positive with the officials. 3. Acknowledge the efforts of the officials. 4. Let the players play their game, not your game. 5. Praise efforts, not results. 6. Set an example for the players. 7. Use appropriate and acceptable language.
