Assateague Pointe Homeowners Association Assateague Pointe 2013 Fall Newsletter Volume 1, Issue 1 October November 2013 Welcome To All New Homeowners Special points of interest: Don t put gate cards near cell phones or credit cards, they will be demagnetized. You will have to purchase a new card. Mail Boxes are required by the postal service to be cleaned out on a regular basis. When homeowner s return to their other homes, make sure to forward your mail. Please call the front office with new addresses and phone numbers in case of an emergency. Several people do not have land lines and that is what is on file at the present time at the office. Inside this issue: Presidents Report Prop. Manager s Rep. 2 Welcome To All Our New Homeowners to Assateague Pointe! We hope you take time to enjoy the community during the fall and winter season. There are still places to go and things to see and people to meet. The pace gets slower and you can really enjoy and discover the area. Any questions you have about the community, you may contact any board member or call, (410-641-1671) or go to the front office. Please sign up for all announcements, newsletters on our website @ www.assateaguepointe.co m Don t forget to make arrangements to have your place winterized. If you do your own winterization, make sure your heat tape is in working condition. Please put away all outside lawn ornaments, solar lights, chairs, etc. Please take down your gazebo tops so they won t blow away and cause damage. We occasionally get storms in the off season, so it is better to be prepared, if you are not able to come down. Thank you President-Joe McGee- Lot# 15 Welcome Sign to the Community Vice President-Bob Molle- Lot#308 Treasurer-Troy Purnell- Lot#428 Secretary-Fred Verga- Lot#469 Member At Large-Keith Shoff-Lot#346 ECC Committee 2 Children's Xmas Party New Year s Eve Bash 3 Updates for Homeowners Storage yard committee Report Storage Yard 2014 Form Entertainment Reviews Kay & Mike Whaley Storage Yard Rules 6 3 4 5 Comcast offers a seasonal rate for the basic cable for the winter months. Homeowners have to make the call to the company and ask for it. Smokers are being asked to be considerate of nonsmokers at the pool area s. If possible, please move to an area away from them. The board was asked to stop all smoking at the pools. All Sheds and Courtyards are to be bordered by January 2015

PAGE 2 ASSATEAGUE POINTE 2013 FALL NEWSLETTER VOLUM E 1, ISSUE 1 President s Report-Joseph McGee Dear Homeowners; I hope everyone is getting ready for the Holiday season. The Board met in October to complete the budget for 2014. While putting the budget together we still had to make sure, we still maintain the park as we all are accustomed to seeing. After going over the budget items and trying to maintain the park as needed. We had to raise the dues $5 a month. Here are a few of the items being done this year, placing camera system on the pier, possible new washers and dryers and adding cabinets and sink at the Rec. center. We had a very successful year in activities, please markdown the upcoming New Years Eve party on December 31, so come on down. The next meeting on November 23, 2013. The purpose of this meeting will be to approve the budget for 2014. There is a copy of the proposed budget on our website. This year the Storage yard has revamped the registration form, which must be filled out and all information turned in before you will receive your sticker. They have set up new guidelines, you will have to sign stating you have read the guidelines and understand what you need to do to keep your slip. This year we sprayed the lot for weeds, which is the responsibility of the slip holder. The Board made a decision not to spray this year. If the Board needs to have our guys spray we will have to increase the annual fee. The Board would like to thank everyone for taking the time to keep Assateague Pointe looking like THE PLACE TO BE IN OCEAN CITY. This also helps the homes value to continue to rise. Thanks again for the homeowners support, Your President, Joe McGee Property Manager s Report-Troy Purnell Dear Assateague Pointe Homeowner, Autumn is here, leaves are changing color, and it is a beautiful time of year at Assateague Pointe. Just a reminder to everyone: Protective Border- The Board has unanimously approved a requirement that all courtyards and sheds have border. This should prevent most of the accidental damage caused by the grounds crew and will save time and money for the association. If you don t already have border around your courtyard and shed please install the border by January 2015. Activities: There are still events on the schedule for the remainder of 2014. The children s Christmas Party on December 7 TH, rumor has it Santa Claus will visit Assateague Pointe, and our annual New Years Eve Party. Be sure to make your reservations. Winter Weather: It is still beautiful at the beach but cold weather is not far off. If you don t winterize your home be sure to turn of the water under the house, plug in the heat tape and set your thermostat to 50. If you have any questions, or are aware of anything that needs attention, please let us know by informing Valerie at the front office and we will look into it. Thanks for your support. ECC Committee Report-Cathy Ortel Thank you to many of our homeowners for another great season! We so appreciate all your efforts to keep your homes looking pretty and our property values at the top. To the owners who still have not come into compliance, our season is not finshed. Another final round of inspections will be done and further hearings will be set up. We originally asked that work be completed by June 30th, and yet some people feel that four months is not enough time to paint a deck etc. Our blue book of rules states that homes are to be maintained on a year round basis and being too busy, or not willing to take the time is not an acceptable excuse. If you don't want to maintain your property, perhaps a condo in OC would better suit your needs. The ECC and your neighbors are working together to make sure our community maintains it's appearance and will do so even if we need to continue our process throughout the winter. We have always worked with our friends when illness and family matters have caused delays. Not caring is an issue we will not work with! Please remember that the acceptable roof vent colors are gray/silver, black, brown or white. Blue, green and other colors are not approved and will be sited for not being in compliance. If you are in doubt on a color or an improvement please email us at CEO.Assateague@Yahoo.com or check with the front office. Again, thank you to all our friends who have done a great job and we look forward to seeing you around our community.
