The program has had a history, be it young, of being successful. This year's squad brings a lot of tournament experience that blends well with a vigorous coaching staff. The team strives for perfection but likes to have fun, both of which is prevalent in the cover of this year's media guide. Pictured from left to right is Assistant Coach Erin Andrews, freshman Avery French, junior Marguerite Swearingen, freshman Kiley Ballew, junior Dana Finkelstein, junior Mayko Chwen Wang, freshman Vivian Chen, senior Demi Mak, senior Katerina Prorokova, and Head Coach Amy Bush-Herzer. 6 Strength & Conditioning UNLV women's golf strength and conditioning program, under the guidance of Jason Kabo, is geared towards developing student-athletes' athletic potential through a personalized program that focuses on generating power and strength as well as increasing flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. Benefitting from an individualized conjason Kabo ditioning regimen implemented by Kabo, Director of Strength & Rebel players follow a year-round system Conditioning stressing the development of strength, power, speed and plyometrics. "Our goal and focus is to provide a program that benefits each individual athlete," Kabo said. "Our student-athletes are provided the best regiment possible to put them in a position to compete and succeed at the highest level in collegiate athletics." Kabo has been involved with the UNLV strength and conditioning department since 1999. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA and holds a Sports Nutrition Certification with IFA. Kabo is a Pennsylvania native and a 1999 graduate of Slippery Rock University (of Pennsylvania), with a bachelor s degree in exercise science. After volunteering and completing an internship in UNLV s strength and conditioning department, he was promoted to assistant strength and conditioning coach and then assistant director in 2007. He is in his 11th year overall working with the men's basketball program, and also works with women's basketball, baseball, volleyball, women's golf and the swimming and diving programs at UNLV. Kabo has also been involved in various basketball camps, the NBA Pre- Draft Camp and assists with several NBA Summer League teams during their time in Las Vegas. He and his wife Sheri have two daughters, Madeline (9) and Reese (4). The women's golf team works out and conditions in the Mendenhall Center, which is a state-of-the-art basketball facility that is the home of the UNLV men's baseketball team, the Runnin' Rebels. The Mendenhall Center is attached to the south side of the Cox Pavilion and has a total of 38,000 square feet of space on three levels. The women's golf team is active in the strength and conditioning and equipment areas.

Support Staff Rocky Rutledge Asst. Director of Athletics Equipment Sage Sammons Asst. Director of Media Relations Chris Bonnell Director of Marketing Marissa Nichols Graduate Athlete Academic Advisor Providing the best possible preventive and rehabilitative care, the UNLV women's golf athletic training staff is headed by Director of Athletic Training Kyle Wilson. Made possible by a generous gift of $1.5 million by Marilyn and Si Redd, the athletic training facility incorporates the total scope of sports medicine over an 8,500-square-foot area. Aside from five staff offices, a rehabilitation room houses a dozen pieces of equipment including Cybex stationary bicycles, stair machines and treadmills, all under a natural skylight. The largest area features a dozen tables to offer student-athletes various treatments throughout the day. Taping, padding and bracing all take place in another all-inclusive room. Finally, an aquatic therapy room features three above-ground whirlpools surrounding a 10-feet deep pool for rehabilitative exercises. All of these features make it possible for UNLV student-athletes to rehabilitate injuries without ever needing to leave the Lied Athletic Complex. Other amenities include a physician's office and exam room to provide daily medical service for student-athletes. A drug-testing facility also is part of the new complex. This expedites medical care because the student-athletes health care is self-contained. Also, UNLV's academic program and its student athletic trainers benefit from a sports medicine library, study room and conference facility. Athletic Training Kyle Wilson Director of Athletic Training "Aside from being four times larger than our former facility," says Kyle Wilson, UNLV's Director of Athletic Training. "This is one of the top complexes in the nation because of the versatility it offers to service student-athletes in every area of sports medicine. We're now more efficient, more accessible and more effective in preventing and rehabilitating athletic injuries."

Mountain West Craig Thompson Mountain West Quick Facts Founded: 1998 Commissioner: Craig Thompson Mailing Address: 15455 Gleneagle Drive, Suite 200 Colorado Springs, CO 80921-2591 Phone: 719.488.4040 Fax: 719.487.7241 W. Golf Contact: Katie Cavender Email: kcavender@themwc.com Office Phone: 719.488.4059 THIS IS THE MOUNTAIN WEST The Mountain West was conceived on May 26, 1998, when the presidents of eight institutions -- Air Force, BYU, Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego State, UNLV, Utah and Wyoming -- decided to form a new NCAA Division FBS intercollegiate athletic conference. The split from a former 16-team conference re-established continuity and stability among the membership within the new league and signaled the continuation of its tradition-rich, long-standing athletic rivalries. Three of the MW s eight original members have been conference rivals since the 1960s (New Mexico, Wyoming and Colorado State), while San Diego State (1978) and Air Force (1980) were longtime members as well. UNLV and TCU entered the fold in 1996 and the Rebels continued as one of the original eight institutions that formed the MW in 1999. With conference realignment sweeping the nation in recent years, the MW has been proactive in addressing membership changes. Boise State joined the Mountain West in 2011-12, followed by Fresno State and Nevada, Reno on July 1, 2012. Also on July 1, 2012, Hawai i became a football-only member of the Conference. On May 4, 2012, the Mountain West announced the additions of San Jose State and Utah State as full-time members effective July 1, 2013. From its inception in 1999, the Mountain West has been committed to excellence in intercollegiate athletics, while promoting the academic missions of its member institutions. Progressive in its approach, the MW continues to cultivate opportunities for studentathletes to compete at the highest level, while fostering academic achievement and sportsmanship. The Mountain West is noted for its geographic diversity. Some of the most beautiful terrain and landscapes in the nation can be found within its boundaries, including the majestic Rocky Mountain range, which borders four MW institutions (Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State and New Mexico). The inclusion of the Hawai i football program extends the Mountain West footprint to the beautiful islands in the Pacific Ocean. Mountain West members have participated in 51 bowl games under the league umbrella, including four appearances in BCS games. The MW has earned 61 postseason bids in men s basketball, including 33 NCAA appearances and two NIT Final Four berths. MW women s basketball has tallied 57 postseason slots, including 31 NCAA bids, five Sweet 16 appearances and one Elite Eight berth since 2000. The MW has produced 762 All-America selections among its 18 sponsored sports in the last 13 years. A total of 125 MW student-athletes have also earned Academic All-America accolades in that span. The Mountain West has captured three team national championships in men s cross country and produced 32 individual national champions.

Season 2013-14 Outlook Winning a championship is hard, but repeating as conference champions is even more difficult. That will be the task at hand for the UNLV women s golf in the 2013-14 season. The Rebels return all five players that helped the team win the Mountain West championship, which was the fourth in school history. The return of all of that experience is rare amongst in college athletics, let alone golf. Our experience is a very important component coming into the season, head coach Amy Bush-Herzer said. Everyone came together at the end of last season and they are pushing each other to get better and that is huge for our team. The heart of the lineup is three juniors: Dana Finkelstein, Marguerite Swearingen and Mayko Chwen Wang. They all have played over 50 rounds of golf in just two years of competition. Their experience will help the Rebels grow from a young squad into a veteran team. As a unit, it is really cool to see how Dana, Marguerite and Mayko get along, Bush-Herzer said. They are genuinely friends on and off the course. To have that as a solid group moving through school together is a really neat thing to see as a coach. They also can share a lot with our new kids coming in because they have played a lot of rounds and have a ton of experience. The two other returners are seniors that have helped the team tremendously. Demi Mak finished runner-up at the Mountain West Championship during her first year as a Rebel and Katerina Prorokova has played in 80 rounds during her UNLV career which ranks 10th, in program history. We want both of our seniors to leave their mark on our program in a great way, Bush-Herzer said. They both have a lot of experience and can help lead our team. The Rebels also bring in three newcomers. Freshmen Vivian Chen, Avery French and Kiley Ballew join the team with great potential. Chen and French have played well in big events and bring that experience to UNLV. Ballew hails from the Las Vegas Valley and had an outstanding prep career at Arbor View High School. THE SCHEDULE The UNLV women s golf team schedule will challenge them this season as they will play in many of the sport's high-profile tournaments. The Rebels open with two tournaments held by Mountain West schools. The first is the Colonel Bill Wollenberg s Ptarmigan Ram Classic in Fort Collins, Colorado. This is the third consecutive season UNLV opens its season at the Ram Classic and last year the team finished third. Next on the schedule will be a trip to Albuquerque, N.M., for the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational. Last fall, the Rebels led the tournament after the first day, but finished tied for second. UNLV will then travel to the Lone Star State to play in the Betsy Rawls Invitational hosted by Texas. This is the second consecutive year the Rebels will play in the tournament and they will look to improve on a 10th-place finish from last October. Wrapping up the Fall season will be the Rebels' only home tournament of the 2013-14 year as they will host the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. This will be the second consecutive year that the tournament will be played at the Stallion Mountain Golf Club. The Spring season will open with a trip to Stanford, Calif., for the Peg Barnhard Invitational. The tournament will be played at the Stanford Golf Club, where the Rebels competed in the NCAA Regional last spring. UNLV will then play three tournaments in March (Bruin Wave Invitational (Woodland Hills, Calif.), Clover Cup (Mesa, Ariz.) and The Farms Invite (San Diego, Calif.) and one tournament in April (Silverado (Napa, Calif.) before traveling back to Rancho Mirage, Calif., for the Mountain West Championship. Our goal is to be back-to-back Mountain West champions, Bush-Herzer said. But to do that, we need to start winning tournaments during the regular season. After winning it all last year, our girls know they have the ability to win tournaments, which is good, and that needs to carry over into this season. The NCAA Regional sites are in Tallahassee, Fla., Stillwater, Okla., and Seattle, Wash. And the NCAA Championship will take place in Tulsa, Okla. on May 21-24, 2014.

Head Coach Amy Bush-Herzer Head Coach 4th year Amy Bush-Herzer enters her fourth season as head coach of the UNLV women's golf program after having a remarkable 2012-13 season that earned her Mountain West Coach of the Year honors. It was the third time a UNLV women's golf head coach was honored as former coach Missy Ringler won the award twice (2003-04 and 2005-06). The 2012-13 season was highlighted by the Rebels' fourth Mountain West Championship. With the title, UNLV earned a spot at an NCAA Regional for the 11th straight year. At the NCAA West Regional in Stanford, Calif., the Rebels finished tied for 15th. As a team the Rebels recorded nine top-10 finishes on the season and finished the year as the 41st ranked team by Golf Stat. Under Bush-Herzer's guidance, rising junior Dana Finkelstein became UNLV's fifth Mountain West Player of the Year. She led the MW in average with 74.28 strokes per round and was named to the All-Region Team for the West Region after placing 10th. In 2012, Finkelstein and Mayko Chwen Wang became the fourth and fifth UNLV golfers to be named Mountain West Freshmen of the Year. One year earlier, Therese Koelbaek became the fourth women's golfer to earn MW Player of the Year honors. The Denmark native dominated all season, racking up 10 top-10 finishes in 11 events, including winning the MW Championship by a record-tying seven-stroke margin. Koelbaek became the first golfer in program history to earn All-MW honors four straight years and collected a slew of postseason accolades, including the 2011 Mountain West Female Scholar Athlete of the Year and a CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-America First Team selection. During the 2011-12 season, Bush-Herzer helped guide the Rebels to their 10th straight NCAA Regional, posting nine top-10 finishes in 11 events. UNLV posted top-five finishes at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown (5th), UNLV Spring Invitational (2nd), Bruin/Wave Invitational (4th) and at the Mountain West Championship, finishing runner-up to TCU. The 2010-11 squad also earned the program's first top-25 finish in the nation in team GPA, tying for 24th on the National Golf Coaches Association's top 25 listing. UNLV was the highest nationally ranked team to appear on the list. Before taking over, Bush-Herzer had spent the previous three years as the top assistant to former head coach Missy Ringler. During that time the Rebels made three consecutive appearances in NCAA Regional competition and one trip to the NCAA Championships, where they turned in a program-best finish of 16th overall in 2008. Since 2007, the program has posted 25 top-10 finishes in regular-season tournament play. Prior to joining Ringler's staff, Bush-Herzer was the Chapter Coordinator for the Southwest Section PGA, where she was responsible for the overall operations for Las Vegas from 2005 to 2007. She was the tournament director for numerous events, including the PGA Junior Series, Arizona Open and the Southwest Section Championship. She earned the 2006 Las Vegas Chapter Golf Professional of the Year while working at the Southwest Section PGA. Bush-Herzer served as the assistant golf professional from 2001-05 at SouthShore Golf Club at Lake Las Vegas Resort, working on the day-to-day operations at the course. She also served as an assistant golf professional for the TPC at Summerlin where she assisted with a PGA Tour event and a Champions Tour event. Bush-Herzer graduated from New Mexico State in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in business administration with a specialization in professional golf management from a program that is sanctioned by the PGA. In 2007, Bush completed her master's degree in sports and leisure management from UNLV. Bush graduated from the NCAA Women's Coaches Academy in Denver, Colo., in 2008. In 2010, she also attended the NCAA Women's Coaches Academy Dimension 2, which was held in Boston, Mass. Bush-Herzer has more than 12 years of experience as a golf professional and is a Class A member of the PGA of America. In addition to coaching, Bush is active with the PGA, serving as the President for the Southern Nevada Section PGA (the first woman to be elected to that post) and also a board member for the Southwest Section PGA. She has also presented at the PGA Fall Expo Main Stage and serving on the boards of The First Tee and Southern Nevada Golf Association. In 2009, Bush-Herzer was again honored by the PGA and was named the 2009 Bill Strausbaugh Award winner for community service. In 2011, Bush attended the NACWAA Institute in Denver, Colorado. Bush-Herzer was married to Kendall Herzer on August 7, 2010. The couple resides in Las Vegas.

Assistant Coach Erin Andrews Assistant Coach 3rd Year Erin Andrews was hired as assistant coach for the UNLV women's golf team during the summer of 2011. Andrews, a Las Vegas native and graduate of Durango High School, lettered four times for the University of Oregon Ducks and was a 2004 All-Pac-10 Conference honoree. "Erin's experience within various sports programs has been a great asset to the women's golf team here at UNLV," Bush- Herzer said. "She understands the hard work that goes into building a successful team and has brought a wealth of knowledge in her time here." Andrews led Durango HS to two state titles before accepting a full scholarship to Oregon in 2003. She opened her sophomore season with the Ducks winning the Lady Vandal Fall Invitational, becoming UO's first medalist winner in two seasons in the process. She tied for the team lead in scoring average that season en route to allconference honors. She capped her career with a 15th-place finish at the 2006 Pac-10 Championship, the highest Duck finisher in the tournament. Andrews still sits among the top 10 in the record books at UO, standing tied for seventh for career rounds played (109) and for rounds counted, factoring in the top five in 87.2 percent of rounds played. Andrews was a qualifier for the USGA Junior Girls Championship in 2002 and the Women's Amateur in 2004, 2005 and 2007. Last fall she joined Bush in helping lead a clinic for the promotion of women's golf at the annual Justin Timberlake Shriner's Hospital for Children Open.
