There will be limited boat parts (nuts, bolts, oarlocks, oar collars and wrenches) available at the starting area. Racing Highlights and Basic Rules: 4

Eligibility: This is a USRowing event so while all rowing clubs are invited to participate, rowing clubs must be organizational members of USRowing and unaffiliated rowers must have an individual membership to USRowing. All USRowing rules for head races will apply. These include: safety equipment, bowballs, show heel ties, sealed decks, boats and oars in good working order. All equipment must comply with USRowing safety guidelines including, but not limited to, firmly affixed bowballs, intact shoe heel ties, sealed bow and stern deck compartments. Coaches should not plan to use any rowers/equipment in events that are less than 90 minutes apart. Boats should be rowed from the UA docks by the dam to the starting line immediately south of Hayden Run bridge. There will be Marshals to direct your crews. Boats must have their appropriate bow marker secured on their shell. A penalty of 30 seconds may be assessed for a missing bow marker. Passing is done at the risk of the overtaking crew. However, if a crew is within 1 length and is closing on the crew ahead of them, the crew being overtaken should yield so the overtaking crew is not impeded in its opportunity to pass. Since 2 opposing crews start simultaneously and there are about 30 seconds between starts, there is less opportunity to pass than in many head races. There are crews nearby to race against but the clock is the standard you will be judged by. If one or more rowers are ejected or lost from a boat during a head race, the affected crew must stop and remain Coaches should not plan to use any rowers/equipment in events that are less than 90 minutes apart with those individuals until all are safely out of the water. Results: Results will be posted on HereNOW: www.herenow.com Shout Outs: There are verbal/loud speaker shout out opportunities by the regatta announcer for all teams to support their athletes and coaches throughout the day. Forms are available at Vendor Row with a $5 donation. 5

Site Clean Up: Each team is required to clean up their own area. Please place all trash in the trash bags/boxes along the park road for pickup by UA volunteers Spectator Viewing: Races may be observed from the eastside riverbanks and walks. The best viewing is from Tent City on top of the hill, (last 1300m of racing visible). Additional viewing is available along the east shore south of Fishinger Bridge. Due to safety concerns from the police, standing or observing of the races is not allowed from the Fishinger Road Bridge or from the private property along the west riverbanks. Team Tents: Use weights or tents stays only. Tent staking is not permitted in the park or to trees. Tent City will have sites marked. Those teams, clubs, and parent organizations who plan to erect temporary canopies must conduct any cooking activity outside the tented area. Every tented area greater than 100 square feet MUST have a fire extinguisher. Trophies/Medals: Medals (gold, silver, bronze) will be awarded to winning crews when race results are confirmed and official. Water: UA Crew is committed to being environmentally responsible, and is actively encouraging athletes to use only reusable bottles for water. Water jugs will be supplied to teams and the regatta will provide necessary access to water for athletes away from tents as well. Vendors: There will be a vendor area with t-shirts, novelties, food trucks, and other items for sale. 6

New this year: Crew Brew Cafe and Charging Station, located in the shelter house across from the hospitality tent. Site Map on next page: 7
