When those ran out, KATUSA (Korean Augmentees to US Army) troops were used as replacements. The first of these South Korean soldiers (out of an eventual 4,500) were incorporated into the division during the first week of September. After Mission 1: Receive 8 steps of US replacements drown from support units. After Mission 5: Receive 12 steps of KATUSA troops. KATUSA replacements can never be promoted to Veteran.
