Therefre, simply calling these Get t Knw Yu activities and aviding the wrd Icebreaker appears t relieve much stress fr many participants. Lts f these activities exist. Feel free t find and use yur wn r custmize these t fit yur grup. Enjy! Nte: Activity sheets referenced in the instructins are attached at the end. 1. Peple Hunting All Grup Ice Breaker Advanced Prep: Phtcpy Peple Hunting Activity Sheet fr each member. Instructins: Hand ut the sheets and annunce hw much time they will have. Hunt fr smene wh can say yes t ne f these questins. Write her name in the blank. Yu cannt use the same persn mre than nce. When time is up, read a few f the items and ask whm it applies t s the grup can begin t learn abut ne anther. 2. Stand-Up Shw and Tell Table Ice Breaker Instructins: Have wmen chse smething they are wearing r smething they have brught with them. Explain that yu'd like them t think abut why the items they chse are special t them r part f their identities. Fr example, smene might share abut a necklace that belnged t her grandmther, and anther might talk abut a special picture in her wallet. Then ask the wmen t Shw and Tell ne at a time at their table. Make sure that everyne has a chance t present her special item at her table. 3. Table Favrites Table Ice Breaker Advanced Prep: Phtcpy Table Favrites Activity Sheet fr each Table Leader. Instructins: This activity is intended t allw the Table Leaders t learn mre abut the wmen at their table and t better plan apprpriate table utings. Prvide a sheet t each Table Leader and give them five minutes t gain feedback frm their table. If time allws, each table can discuss ptential ideas fr table utings based n the infrmatin gathered.
4. Wacky Questins Table Ice Breaker Advanced Prep: Phtcpy Wacky Questins Activity Sheet, cut int strips, and place in envelpes fr each table. Instructins: Hand each table an envelpe and instruct each persn t pull ut ne strip f paper, read and answer the questin, and then pass the envelpe t the next persn. Cntinue until everyne at the table takes a turn. 5. Cmmn Bnds All Grup Ice Breaker Instructins: Befre starting this game, explain that yu are ging t call ut categries and then divisins within each categry. Each wman will need t walk t the categry divisin that best fits her. Once everyne is in her divisin, yu will read a questin, and everyne will take turns answering it within her grup. Call ut the first categry and annunce where in the rm the wmen in each divisin shuld g. After wmen frm their divisins, ask yur questin. When everyne has had a chance t answer the questin, mve n t the secnd categry and its divisins. A Penny fr Yur Thughts All Grup Ice Breaker Advanced Prep: Write n a pster, dry erase, r chalk bard see belw. Instructins: Befre yur meeting, write the fllwing statements n the dry erase bard in yur rm: $.25: Tell what yu want t be ding 25 years frm nw. $.10: Name smething that gives yu jy. $.05: Name smething that yu d well. $.01: Tell ne nice thing smene has said t yu this week. When the wmen arrive, have them select ne cin frm their purse. Call ut an amunt f mney, such as $1.35, and have wmen frm grups whse mney ttal is equal t r within 25 cents f that amunt. See which grup came the clsest t the amunt yu called (everyne can cheer fr that grup!). Then have each wman in the grup use the chart yu've created t share with the grup. After everyne has shared, trade cins, call ut a new amunt, find new grups, and share again.
7. Cunt Yur Blessings Table Ice Breaker Instructins: Remember the ld sng, Cunt yur many blessings, name them ne by ne...? Here is a fun way t d just that. Have each table get ut a piece f paper and a pen. Have wmen tally pints accrding t their answers t these statements: Add yur team members' ages. Give 20 pints fr each persn whse birthday is in December r January. Give 5 pints fr each persn wh made her bed this mrning. Give 1 pint fr each brther r sister each persn has. Give 1 pint fr each bk f the Bible yur team can name. Give 10 pints fr each persn whse first name can be fund in the Bible. After tables tally their pints, have them divide the ttal by the number f peple n their team. Then see if the wmen at the table can think f that same number f gifts Gd has give t them (individually r as a table unit). It's a fun challenge! 8. Birth Right All Grup Ice Breaker Instructins: Annunce t yur members that: Birth rder plays a rle in ur childhd develpment There are ften cmmn experiences and feelings shared by peple f the same birth rder This is an pprtunity fr them t discver thse cmmnalties Ask wmen t grup themselves int the fur crners f the rm by the fllwing birth rders: ldest, yungest, middle, and nly child. After wmen are gruped, have everyne intrduce herself and tell them they have just a few minutes t answer the fllwing questins: What were the advantages f being a child? What were the disadvantages f being a child? Once grups are finished, ask a spkespersn in each grup t share their answers. 9. By, Was My Face Red! - Table Ice Breaker Instructins: Set the stage fr this activity by telling a stry f yur wn abut a time that yu were red-faced. Tell the wmen that nw is their chance t share their embarrassing mment with their table. Give everyne a few minutes t think f an embarrassing situatin. Explain that the last sentence f each stry shuld be, By was my face red!
10. Week Days All Grup Ice Breaker Advanced Prep: Make signs fr days f the week and pst arund the rm befre the meeting. Instructins: Ask the wmen t mve t the day f the week that best answers the questin yu ask. When everyne has mved, have them share with ne anther why they chse that day f the week. When yu say Week Days, the wmen shuld listen fr the next questin and mve t the apprpriate day f the week fr them. The questins are: On which day f the week are yu mst likely t read the paper? On which day f the week are yu mst likely t rder a pizza? On which day f the week are yu the busiest? Which day f the week d yu like the best? On which day f the week are mst likely t eat lunch ut? Life's Little Suitcase Table Ice Breaker Instructins: Ask the wmen t lk thrugh their wallets and/r purses and find three bjects that they are willing t share that will help the wmen at their table learn mre abut them. Ask the Table Leader t begin and mve arund the table allwing everyne t share abut their bjects. 12. Questin Ball All Grup Ice Breaker Advanced Prep: Have Questin Beach Ball ready see attached Activity Sheet. Instructins: Have the wmen mve t an pen area f yur meeting rm if pssible (r stand at their tables). Advise the wmen that yu are ging t start sme music in the rm and thrw ut the beach ball t them t tss arund. When the music stps, the persn hlding the beach ball shuld read the questin n the ball clsest t her right thumb. Once she has answered the questin, start the music again and repeat. 13. Line Up Game All Grup Ice Breaker Instructins: Have everyne stand at their tables. Call ut a categry and ask the wmen at the table t quickly line up in the rder f the categry. The first table that gets itself int rder accrding t the categry is the winner. They must make a selectin and g t an area in the rm that yu designate. Once everyne has fund their area, have them intrduce themselves by first name. Happy Birthday! - All Grup Ice Breaker Instructins: Explain the imprtance f celebrating birthdays remembering and valuing an individual just fr existing. Ask fr the wmen t walk arund and find thers wh share the same birth mnth. When everyne is in their birth mnth grups, ask them t yell ut their mnth in rder beginning with January. Then ask grup members t share their exact birthdays. Ask hw many peple discvered cmmn birthdays. 17. Missing Links Table Ice Breaker Instructins: Tell the wmen they nw have an pprtunity t discver the cnnectins r missing links they have with peple at their tables. Ask the wmen t stand arund their tables. Instruct the table leaders t begin the activity by telling things abut themselves, such as places they've lived, jbs they've had, peple they've knwn, vacatins they've taken, schls they've attended, and s n. The first wman t establish a cnnectin with the Table Leader (i.e. - they attended the same cllege) shuld identify herself as a missing link. She shuld explain the link and then prceed t tell abut herself until anther table member makes a cnnectin. Cntinue the missing link prcess until all members f the grup are smehw cnnected.
18. Name That Table Table Ice Breaker Instructins: Like the familiar Name That Tune, this activity will be using music. Each table will briefly talk amng themselves, sharing things abut themselves until they hit n a cmmn theme. Once they hit n a cmmn theme, they shuld think f a sng that demnstrates the theme that they can all hum r sing. Fr instance, if they are all tea drinkers, they may chse the sng I'm A Little Teapt, r if they were all brn in April, they may chse Singing In the Rain. When each team has a theme, ask each t stand and hum r sing their tune as the rest f the grup tries t guess their cnnectin. 19. Middle Name Intrs Table Ice Breaker Instructins: Hw many girlfriends have wished, especially when they were yunger, that they culd chse their wn name? Well, here's yur pprtunity. Give wmen a minute r tw t cme up with a new middle name. This name shuld describe smething abut them. Fr example, Audrey Hepburn culd describe smene wh enjys fine jewelry. Martha Stewart culd identify smene wh enjys crafting, Tiger Wds culd be a glf fanatic, r Celine Din culd identify smene wh lves t sing. Then g arund the table and have table members intrduce themselves, explaining their new middle names. 20. Speed Dating All Grup Ice Breaker Advanced Prep: Yu will need a watch with a secnd hand. Instructins: Divide the grup in half and frm tw straight lines facing each ther. Each persn shuld be matched up with smene directly acrss frm her. (Large grups can create tw sets f lines facing each ther.) One C-Leader will need t stay ut f the game t be timekeeper and keep the game ging. When the C- Leader says g, the wmen intrduce themselves t each ther and tell sme infrmatin abut themselves t their partner acrss frm them (i.e. - number f kids, where they grew up, number f siblings, favrite restaurant, etc.). Give them ne minute t exchange infrmatin. At the end f ne minute, call time and have ne side f the line mve ne persn t the left (the ther side f the line des nt mve). The persn at the end f the mving line ges t the beginning f their line t match up with a new persn. They shuld mve quickly (nly give them a few secnds t shift t the left). When yu call time again, they start ver intrducing themselves t each ther fr ne minute. This cntinues until yu have mved thrugh the entire line r until yur time is up. It is a fun way t meet a lt f peple quickly! 21. Wrking Tgether Table Ice Breaker Instructins: Have wmen get int pairs at their tables, and create a secret handshake. It can cntain as many different mves and actins as they like. Fr example, use high fives, kncking elbws, twirling in a circle, snapping fingers, etc. Encurage them t be creative! After a few minutes, each pair shuld demnstrate their handshakes at the table. If time allws, share the tp handshakes with the whle grup.
22. Quick Srt All Grup Ice Breaker Instructins: Divide the grup int fur subgrups in each crner f the rm. Explain that yu are ging t call ut a categry and each team will need t srt itself as quickly as pssible int a line in the rder yu have annunced. Share the mst and least in each grup befre mving n t the next categry t help the wmen cnnect with ne anther. Srt by she size frm largest t smallest. When yu say g, everyne shuld get up and grup themselves by like nuts. In ther wrds, a filbert shuld find all the ther filberts and frm a grup. When grups are frmed, explain that we all have had nutty experiences. What's Yur Stry All Grup Ice Breaker Instructins: Have everyne find a partner. Tell each pair t decide which f them will be the first stryteller. The stryteller has tw minutes t tell the partner a stry. Stry tpics culd include a recent vacatin, a funny situatin, an interesting experience, r a hbby. The listening partner's jb is simply t listen. After tw minutes, have them switch rles. The next step is fr everyne t find new partners. This time, the stry they just heard has nw becme their stry.
