Purpose and Need - Water Quality - Protect and Improve Lake Tahoe clarity - Improve highway safety and mobility for all users
Water Quality Improvements - Drainage inlets with sand traps and new piping - Delaware sand filter - Infiltration basins - Underground infiltration piping
Mobility and Accessibility Improvements US 50 at Tallac Avenue US 50 at Lakeview Ave US 50 at Modesto Ave - New sidewalks (4 7.5 wide) and curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards - Widen roadway shoulders to provide for minimum 6 wide bike lanes - Widen shoulders for bus pullouts
Infrastructure Improvements - Reconstruct roadway to extend pavement life and improve roadway cross slope - 11 lane width - New curb and gutter and drainage inlets - Upgrade traffic signals and signal synchronization Traffic Operations Improvements - Add new traffic signal at Lodi Avenue to improve corridor signal coordination - Add westbound right turn lane at Tahoe Keys Blvd - Add a dedicated left turn lane from Sierra Blvd to access westbound US 50
