MCYC channel chatter The Friendliest Club on the River Since 1961 50990 Dike Road Scappoose Oregon 97056 www.mcyc1.org OCTOBER A monthly publication of Multnomah Channel Yacht Club 2018 Commodores Comments Fall is in the air! I love the crisp mornings with the fog hovering over the channel. C Dock has been rebuilt! Thanks so much to Joe Aten for organizing the project and seeing it through to the end. It looks great! Also, a special thanks to Ed Gambee and Matt Sloan for the very generous use of their young employees. They hauled the new lumber down, hauled the old lumber up, took some of it to the dump and at no cost to the club! They worked their tails off for about a day and a half. Don t forget the Halloween party. The theme is Hoes and Pimps dress as whichever you feel most comfortable as! This will be a pot luck dinner. This months food barrel theme is Thanksgiving so yams, stuffing, boxed potatoes, canned veggies, etc. - Commodore Dave I want to thank all the MCYC men who volunteered their time to assist with the Ladies Dinner. From the setup, the cooks, food prep, the servers, the bartenders (who donated their tips) to the dishwashers, the cleanup crew, the game keepers, these men ROCKED it. To all the ladies who brought all the great raffle prizes. We always have the best prizes. Thank you so much. I couldn t have done this without your support and generosity. It takes volunteered members to give their time to make these special events so successful. Thanks again. Cheers First Lady Linda

Gilbert River Project MCYC members, we are underway on the fund raising for the Gilbert River Dock Project as discussed at the last General Meeting. I want to thank the MCYC Board on approving a MATCHING up to $1500 received from members. We have the support of CRYA with a large contribution, NOTS Boating Club with over $4,000 and we are up to $1375 from MCYC Members ( not including the MCYC matching funds) and it keeps growing. I want to thank the contributors of late: Sanderson, Senz, Prazan, Karpeles, Svela, Range, Atens. With the help of ALL members, my goal is to have $4000 total contribution from MCYC. If you are willing to support this project, please make a check out to MCYC and get it to me so I can keep the funds separate from the General Funds. If you have any questions, please call me 503 319 9245 or email lori.senz@comcast.net Pick up a current copy of the Freshwater News publication to see an article in there regarding the Project. The word is getting out!!! Lori Senz Vice Commodore
