The win is a vindication for the Cyclones. Their Fall Cup triumph came at the expense of MAC United, the only team they lost to during the summer season. Well done Cyclones
Celebrating our Talent A Player Profile A very talented CNS player is on his way to soccer camp in Milan. Ben, from the CNS U10 Lasers, participated in an AC Milan soccer camp this summer and was selected to join fourteen other kids for the AC Milan Junior Tournament days in Italy. In March, Ben will be living the dream for almost a week in Milan. Right now, he can t stop smiling In the photo above, Ben is receiving his certificate from coach Claudio Balesini, an AC Milan player in the late 80 s. It s great to know our club produces players like Ben. Be sure to check out additional CNS success stories a little further along in the newsletter.
Titanium in Europe After months of Bottle Drives, Sausage/Chocolate/Flower Sales and a Schank s Silent Auction, 16 players from the CNS U16G Titanium took off for London, UK on August 4, 2014. This soccer adventure was arranged by Action Youth and was planned as an immersion in the Football Culture of England. The 2013 Alberta Provincial Tier 2 Bronze medalists played 4 matches against two English Club teams (Evesham Robins and Woodley Utd) and two Girls Academy teams (Bristol Vixens and Reading Wolves). The games were well contested and although the Titanium came away with only two draws, they did manage at least a goal in every match they played The games were supplemented by 4 practice sessions given by the tour company guide, Clive Harding, a Welshmen who is a Grade 5 teacher in Swindon and UEFA B license trainer. more on Titanium in Europe on the following page. Titanium in Europe cont. Besides the soccer, the group of 40 Northside faithful was treated by Coach Clive to tour visits of Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick Castle, Oxford, Windsor Castle and a cruise on the Thames. The final act of this epic trip was a visit to Wembley Stadium to watch the 2014 FA Cup Winner, Arsenal take on the 2014 English Premier League winner, Manchester City in the Annual FA Community Shield. The girls returned home to a few days of rest before heading off to Edmonton for the 2014 ASA Outdoor Provincial Tournament where they joined up with the rest of their U18G Titans teammates to finish 5th in Tier 2. Special thanks to all the parents of the Titanium Travel team for supporting the initiative of their girls, the London 2014 Organizing Committee and the club executive members who facilitated the fundraising and permitting process to go oversees. Memories of the trip will linger for a long time.

Celebrations CNS Blitz recorded at 2-1-1 record at Provincials with their only loss coming at the hands of the Gold Medal winners. The team was very happy to finish in the top 10 in a tough group at the competition. The CNS Inter team had an amazing soccer weekend in Edmonton. In addition to participating in Provincials, the team had an opportunity to watch the junior Team Canada play Germany at the Women s World Cup. CNS Chaos won seven games in a row to qualify as CMSA 1 in the Provincial Tournament. After a last minute call to be on the field at 8 a.m. instead of 2 p.m., a very proud team finished with a silver medal. Chaos reigns supreme
Alberta High Performance Soccer League Update The Alberta Soccer Association Board of Directors have unanimously chosen not to proceed with a vote on the current format proposed for an April 2015 Alberta High Performance Soccer League launch. The Board of Directors felt it was necessary given the lack of support for the current proposal from the greater ASA Membership. The ASA believes the AHPSL concept will provide the best possible opportunity for all Alberta based players to reach their full potential and will continue to strive for a model that is supported by the majority of members. This decision will push the implementation of the AHPSL until the fall of 2015 at the earliest, but the membership will be kept up to date on any progress as development meetings continue through the fall and winter. Further development of the AHPSL concept will be led by the AHPSL Committee and supported by the ASA Board of Directors and staff. Any questions about this decision can be directed to ASA Technical Director Shaun Lowther, Richard Adams (Executive Director) or Ole Jacobsen (President) via the ASA website.
