Our Edale Meeting Point, Peak District Don t leave home without these instructions Please use the following details to arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes prior to your course start time to enable us to make a prompt start. While the course is held in a rural location the nearby cities of Manchester and Sheffield, and the surrounding motorways can cause significant traffic congestion at times so please allow plenty of time for your journey. Setting Our navigation course takes place within the stunning Peak District National Park and we use the Kinder Scout area as our training ground. Set in the beautiful hills of Derbyshire there is no better venue to learn Navigation. Our starting point is a short walk from the centre of Edale village. Participants have the option of booking into one of many local B&B s or joining the instructors at Coopers camping and caravan site. Running late? If you are delayed at all please contact us at the earliest possible moment on 07843064114 so we can try and plan logistically to get an instructor back to the meeting point. However, please note due to the rural setting there is no phone signal in Edale so if it is the morning of the course we will not be able to assist you so a late arrival may mean that we cannot wait for you at the meeting point and you may not be able to take part in the course In these situations late arrivals will be considered a cancellation on your part. On arrival On the first morning of your 2 day course you will be met by a Woodland Ways instructor at 09:30 outside the Old Nags Head pub, S33 7ZD which is in the centre of Edale village. in the centre of Edale village. Directions

By Private Transport If you are using a Sat Nav the course meeting point is the Old Nags Head, S33 7ZD which is in the centre of Edale village. For those of you wanting to test your map reading skills (and let s face it you really should for this course) follow these directions. From the North, South and West of the Peak District National Park Head for Chapel-en-le-Firth on the A6. From here follow signs for Castleton and Hope on Sheffield Road. Take the left hand turn sign posted for Barber Booth and Edale BEFORE reaching Castleton. After taking the left hand turn drive uphill through woodland heading over the hill and down the other side with breath taking scenery and some sharp bends. Continue on this road downhill until you see the sign for Edale In the High Peak on the right hand side. Continue past the two junctions on the left hand side immediately after the Edale sign following the road around a sharp right hand bend.

Follow the road uphill passing Waterside Farm Campsite on your left hand side. Keep driving uphill until you see the sign for Edale, Moorland Centre and Parking on your left hand side and then take the left hand turning shortly after passing the sign. You will pass the train station on your left hand side and then go under the bridge heading for Edale village. Pass the Rambler Inn on the left hand side. Stay on this lane passing Fieldhead Campsite on your right hand side followed by the Graveyard and Church. Continue on this lane a little further passing the red telephone and post boxes. Ahead on the right hand side you will see your meeting point of The Old Nags Head pub. From the East of the Peak District National Park Head for Castleton passing through Hathersage and Hope on the A6187. After driving through Castleton take the right hand turn sign posted for Chapel-en-le- Firth.
