Trustee. If you re interested in running for any of these elected positions, please contact any current officer. The Election of LOOM Officers will be April 4 from 11 a.m. 7 p.m. All LOOM members in good standing are eligible to vote. WOTM NOMINATION OF OFFICERS During the month of February nominations were accepted for Moose calendar year May 2017- April 2018 for the following Women of The Moose elected positions: Senior Regent, Junior Regent, Recorder, and Secretary/Treasurer. WOTM Election of Officers is Monday, March 20 from 6 to 7 p.m. only. The 17th Annual Chili Cook-Off was a huge success due to the record number of 21 entries! Judges this year were local chefs Marty Kokotaylo, Saundra Irvine, and Jim Park. A special thanks to Brad Ledingham for helping out and to all participants for submitting their excellent traditional and non-traditional pots of chili: Marvin Cowden, Ron Crowell, Jim Dolinar, Jim Dukeshire, Steve Kiker, Tammy Kiker, Sandy Lafferty, Tina Maley, Mike McAtee, Kathy Miel, Dean Moeller, Diana Moeller, John Ott, Bob Ruckman, and Suzie Stough. From the Governor I must say this has been a very mild winter and I hope you all have enjoyed it. By press time the remodeling of the back hall should be complete. Thanks to all of the volunteers for their hours of work. Renovations of the Club Room is scheduled to start immediately following the Super Tuesday drawing on March 21st. We need many people to help move all the tables and chairs! A volunteer sign-up sheet is posted in the front foyer. If you can spare a few hours to help, it would be greatly appreciated. Election of your LOOM Officers is on Tuesday, April 4. Please contact one of our current Officers if you are interested in running for office and getting involved. We re still looking for donations from our members to help offset the costs of remodeling and for improving the parking lot. Please consider helping out your lodge by donating just $50. You may indicate which improvement project you would like it to go toward. One last thing, PROFANITY will not be tolerated on the lodge premises; this includes the deck and smoke hut. You may be asked to leave the property and possibly subject to disciplinary action. We are a Family Center and children are often present. SPUYTEN DUYVAL GOLF LEAGUE The Men s Thursday Spuyten Duyval Golf League annual meeting is Saturday, March 18 at 1 p.m. at the Moose Lodge. The 2017 rules and policy will distributed. The $40 league fees, $320 green fees, and $320 green fees will be due and collected at this meeting. Please contact your partner and make sure you both attend! A sign-up sheet for additional members and subs will be posted within the lodge. The top finisher will then be awarded two round trip airfares, hotel room, and one entry into the Moose International Hold Em Tournament. Limited to first 120 paid bowlers. Tournament is a non-sanctioned, singles format; handicap will be 90% of average to 200. Anyone interested in becoming a league member needs to attend the meeting on Wednesday, April 19 at 6 p.m. in the back hall. We will also schedule days to clean the pits and need as many people as possible. Ted Warrington appointed Dave Sullivan as our new league president, and Dave is also the new Ohio State Board Horseshoe Chairman. Marsha will continue to work with subs, schedules, and finances. The first half begins Wed., May 3 at 6 p.m. League dues for the first eight weeks is $45 (second half will be paid at a later date). Continuing league members have first opportunity to participate, but YOU MUST CON- TACT MARSHA prior to April 19 at 419-704-7954. If you re new to the league let Marsha know or attend the meeting. Last year we had a full league of 48 players, so we don t know how many spots will be open. However, the best way to move up on the waiting list is by subbing. We usually need 4 6 subs each week so you re likely to play a lot! There s no cost to sub, just the opportunity to have a good time and meet fun people! 2017 HORSESHOE TOURNAMENTS: Moose International Horseshoe Tourney, Lodge 1705 in Marion, NC on July 14-16 and the Ohio State Moose Association Tourney held here at home, Sylvania Moose Lodge 1579 on August 25-27.
