"You have to start up front. We're just glad to put together a win." Kinser, who started in the front row, grabbed the lead on the second lap and held that position to the finish of the $8,200-to-win, 25-lap event. It was Kinser's seventh WoO feature event win of the season and 30 th of his career here at the Marion County Fairgrounds. The event, which went non-stop, saw Sammy Swindell take second on the dry slick track after a pass of Dave Blaney in lapped traffic during the late stages of the race. Blaney placed third after the race-long battle with Swindell. Doug Wolfgang was fourth and Mark Kinser trailed closely for fifth. Rounding out the top 10 were Jeff Swindell, Stevie Smith, Randy Smith, Craig Keel and Joe Gaerte. Qualifying heats were won by Mark Kinser, Jeff Swindell, Johnny Herrera and Danny Young. Archie Ergenbright captured the C feature and Tim Monson led four drivers into the finale with a win in the B feature. Doug Wolfgang led flag to flag in the rain-cancelled Friday preliminary feature event, which was held Saturday after time trials. Wolfgang out-dragged Sammy Swindell to the flag stand to begin the race and the duo battled for the top spot for the remainder of the $3,500-to-win event. In victory lane, Wolfgang said he "hit the lapped traffic perfectly in the final laps." At the checkered flag it was Wolfgang by five car lengths over Swindell, who was blowing heavy smoke from a leaking gasket. The win was the South Dakota native's 55th career feature event on the Knoxville oval. Steve Kinser trailed at a distant third, Blaney was fourth and Mark Kinser finished fifth. Jeff Swindell, Keel, S. Smith, Gaerte and Herrera completed the top 10 finishers. Griffin, who was obviously the fastest car all evening, set two track records on the night. He piloted his sprinter into the lead of the feature event on lap 12 from a fourth row starting position. Once in front, the fleet Griffin appeared to be on his way to an unchallenged victory. On lap 24, Bubby Jones came into the picture and began to vie for the top spot. Two laps later, Lealand McSpadden made it a three-some as Griffin's tires began to go away. The final circuits saw several challenges for the top spot as Griffin was able to keep the point position and crossed the finish line three car lengths ahead of Jones and McSpadden to claim the $3,000 first place money. Finishing fourth was a fast-closing Billy Boat, Rip Williams took fifth and Ron Shuman settled for sixth. Gary Howard, Sid Blandford, Steve Ostling and Rich Bubak formed the top 10 finishers. This seventh annual CRA Midwest Tour of Champions saw Griffin establish new track records at one and ten lap distances in the Pepper Fite-owned Ford-powered sprinter. Additional marks were set for three laps and 12 laps. Qualifying heats went to Griffin, Cary Faas and Rickie Gaunt. McSpadden took the trophy dash and the B Main. A companion Knoxville Limited Sprint program found Mark Wilson on top of an 18-car field in that division's feature event. Dwight Snodgrass was second and Mike Twedt finished third. www.knoxvilleraceway.com Page 5 of 53

Griffin, who had captured the preliminary feature a mere twenty-four hours earlier, guided his Gambler sprinter from a fourth row starting position to take the lead from Ron Shuman just past the half-way point. When the checkereds fell on lap 30, Griffin laid claim to a straight away advantage as well as a $5,000 check for the top spot. Shuman held off a hard charging Billy Boat to take second, Bubby Jones was fourth and Rip Williams finished fifth. Randy Smith captured his thirty-fourth career feature event at the Marion County Fairgrounds in a companion program for unlimited Knoxville sprints. The Serace Inc. sprinter took the lead from Jeff Tuttle on lap six and coasted to a comfortable margin of victory. The five-time Knoxville champion received $2,500 for his efforts. The outlook for Wolfgang in the early evening seemed bleak as the five-time Nationals champion failed to qualify through his heat event for the feature race. He then ran the B feature and captured that event to gain a ninth row start in the finale. Gordy Vogelaar dominated the first half of the feature event as he utilized his front row starting berth to take the top spot. By lap two Wolfgang had moved to the tenth position and when a yellow flag flew on lap ten he was running third. When the race was restarted Wolfgang chose to run the high route and took the lead as he swept by the flag stand. He extended his lead at the finish as he collected $2,500 and his 56 th career feature event win at the Marion County Fairgrounds. www.knoxvilleraceway.com Page 9 of 53

Randy Smith finished a strong second, Danny Lasoski took third, Jeff Tuttle claimed fourth and Shawn Moore was fifth. Jerry Janssen, John Sernett, Bob Weuve, Vogelaar and Max Dumesny formed the top ten finishers. A twenty minute rain delay was endured during the event. Australian Max Dumesny started on the pole and was in control of the race through two yellows and a red flag which was thrown for quick qualifier and heat event winner, Craig Keel. Dumesny resumed the top spot on each restart. As the swift Aussie came out of turn four to take the white flag he began to slow and Lasoski shot by him at the flag stand. www.knoxvilleraceway.com Page 11 of 53

Lasoski pulled away to take his 25 th career feature event at Knoxville as well as a $2,750 payday. Randy Smith followed to the checkereds for $1,800 and Dumesny coasted to third, a victim of low fuel. Jeff Tuttle and Danny Young completed the top five finishers. Mike Twedt led the distance to capture the feature event for limited sprints. It was Twedt's seventh here and paid the youngster $500. The win paid the Aussie pilot $2,500 and was his third career feature event win at the half-mile oval. www.knoxvilleraceway.com Page 13 of 53

The evening marked a first at this historic track as Melinda Dumesny battled against her husband in the feature event. The better half finished 18 th. For Dumesny, the win was sweet after a disappointing night two weeks ago when he ran low on fuel while leading on the white flag lap. However Dumesny's right rear tire went flat as he pulled into victory lane on this evening. David Hesmer won his 15 th career feature event in the limited sprint division. Bill Dusenbery and Dwight Snodgrass trailed to the checkered flag. Mark Wilson broke has shoulder blade in an accident during his heat race event. During the afternoon, the second annual National Sprint Car Hall of Fame induction ceremonies were held on the fairgrounds. Eighteen new members were inducted at the affair. 410 Results Time Trials (Qualifying Order): 1. 55, Randy Smith, Mount Ayr, IA (18) 16.002; 2. 1, John Sernett, Bloomington, MN (20) 16.045; 3. 59, Brent Antill, Huxley, IA (7) 16.249; 4. 2x, Shawn Moore, Moline, IL (2) 16.321; 5. 5, Danny Lasoski, Dover, MO (30) 16.339; 6. 71m, Jimmy Evans, Hibbing, MN (26) 16.418; 7. 10, Jeff Tuttle, West Des Moines, IA (23) 16.429; 8. 19, Bob Weuve, Newton, IA (15) 16.455; 9. 1AU, Max Dumesny, North Mead, NSW, Aust. Haudenschild, who started in the front row, led the entire distance in the sprinter just vacated by Danny Lasoski one week ago. He was chased closely by Max Dumesny throughout the event but the Australian fell short by fifty yards at the checkereds. Haudenschild received $2,750 for his second career feature event win at this halfmile oval. www.knoxvilleraceway.com Page 15 of 53
