Thanks to students and families for making a difference in the lives of others. You helped create 25 boxes of food for the Christmas Cheer Board. Our bake sale proceeds will provide 100 holiday meals at Siloam Mission. At the Halloween dance we collected money and canned goods for We Scare Hunger! Thank you all for your support of our local and global initiatives. We would like to send a special thank you to the West Kildonan Legion Branch #30 for their continued support of our school. Over the years, their generous support afforded us the opportunity to improve experiences for students in our annual musical, music program, wrestling and Physical Education programs. Thanks for making a difference in the lives of our students! The first day after the break is January 9, 2017 (Day 5). In the New Year, staff and students will continue our work on our school goals: Aboriginal Education, Building a Positive Safe School Culture, Education for Sustainable Development, Supporting Strength Based Learning and Technology. We d like to take this chance to thank our staff for the countless hours they put into creating wonderful learning opportunities and safe, clean places for your children. EP at WE Day! Special Olympics Manitoba Update On December 8 th, our Bulldog SOM group participated in the annual SOM Basketball event, held at the University of Winnipeg. There were over 125 athletes representing a variety of schools from all divisions within the city. The event was a huge success, and the special guests from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers were a big hit. Our next event will be in late January or early February, depending on weather, as it is the Snowshoe event. In November some of the Bulldogs attended We Day at the MTS centre. There were live musical performances and motivational speakers. All of the people that went to We Day had an awesome time including ourselves. My favorite part of We Day was the live musical performances and the "We Day Dance." We learned that we all should be treated the same no matter who you like. We also learned that all together we can change the world. There were a lot of motivational speakers but one that stood out for me was the Prime Minister s mother Margaret Trudeau. She stood out to me because she talked about how she is dealing with her bi-polar disorder. It was a great day! Breanna and Athena
