Now the REAL questions... Can guys and girls go in each others rooms? No. Security guards will be on duty at the hotel, once you go in your room you are not allowed to leave it! Your door will be taped shut each night (if you leave, the seal will be broken & you cannot reseal it from inside). Why are there security guards? Because the teachers need to sleep, guards will be on duty to keep order and be responsible if any emergency needs arise. What about food? Don t worry, you will NOT starve. You will be given 3 meals a day. Can we take headphones, Nintendo s, Game Boys, etc? Headphones are allowed at certain times (never when you are being talked at by adults). Assume that anything you bring could be broken or lost on the bus -- the school is not responsible for lost or damaged items!
Washington DC Trip Facts Can I pick my roommates? Yes... But we must approve When do I get to see the bus list? One week before we go. When will I be told what (and what not) to bring? A few weeks before we go. Basically you are allowed one regular sized suitcase and one carry one bag (plus a pillow). We are going for 3 days, not 3 WEEKS! When will my parents get specific info on the trip? Within a few weeks of the trip there will be a parent meeting Group Photo from 2001
Washington DC Trip Facts Is there a way I could be withheld from going to D.C.? YES! The trip is a privilege. If you continually have problems during your 8th grade year it is possible you will be held back from the trip. Do I have to come to school if I am not going to D.C.? YES! You must attend school if you do not go. There will be alternative activities happening each day. How much free time will I have? Believe it or not, NOT MUCH! You will have some time free in/at museums and stops, but for the most part each stop is carefully planned to pack in as much possible in the short amount of time we have.
