North Texas and Texas A&M will meet at Reed Arena, where the Aggies are 6-0 this season. The Mean Green is in for a tough test, as the Aggies have won their last 73 home game against unranked, non-conference opponents. The last time North Texas defeated Texas A&M was November 15, 1998 in College Station, by a score of 77-72. Since then, the Aggies have won five consecutive games over the Mean Green, and hold a 14-4 all-time series advantage. Fortune Faded... After beginning the season 11-0, Texas A&M has lost two consecutive games; at #3 Texas, by a score of 67-65, and at Washington, by a score of 70-49. The Aggies and the Mean Green have two common opponents this season; both teams have played Houston at home and SMU in Dallas. Texas A&M won both games, 94-55 and 70-62, respectively, while North Texas has lost both games, 46-42 and 62-55, respectively. Road Trippin... North Texas embarks on the second road trip of the season, as the team will go to College Station to Houston to El Paso to San Antonio over a six-day time span. Not ony will the Mean Green finish up non-conference play against Texas A&M, but they will begin Conference USA games against UTEP on January 2 and UTSA on January 4. The team will travel approximately 1,787 miles via buses and airplanes. Throw Away Your Television... The game will be digitally exclusive on SEC Network +, which showcases over 550+ digital-only events throughout the year. SEC Network + is only available through WatchESPN through the WatchESPN app and on SECNetwork.com. Fans must sign in with their credentials from a participating TV provider to access SEC Network +. The URL to this specific game can be found at the bottom of Page 1. Readymade, Readymade... North Texas is about ready to make some shots. Through 10 games this season, the Mean Green are shooting 33.4-percent from the field (331st in the NCAA) and 47.9-percent from the foul line (343rd in the NCAA), which has led to North Texas averaging 48.7 points per game (339th in the NCAA). The Mean Green is 1-9 despite ranking 34th in scoring defense (56.0) and 33rd in 3pt defense (25.8-percent). Last Game Recap DENTON For the third time in 2014, North Texas stormed out to an early halftime lead but failed to control the second half as it fell to former Sun Belt Conference foe Denver on Sunday afternoon. The visiting Pioneers outlasted the Mean Green, 63-55, handing North Texas its sixth single-digit loss this season. Again, this dead horse continues to get whipped, head coach Mike Petersen said. We had the ball right at the rim a ton. You can t shoot 33-percent in a college basketball game and expect to beat somebody. This is not a sport that you can win missing a lot of layups, and right now we miss a lot of layups. The Mean Green shot its second highest amount of field goal attempts (64) this year, however only converted 21 baskets for 33-percent shooting from the field. In yet another rough offensive performance, North Texas missed 13 layups across both halves; with each one contributing to the final difference. Trailing 35-34, with the ball at the 13:43 mark of the second half, senior BreAnna Dawkins - who scored 11 points - was charged with a technical foul for swinging her elbows. With no replay official on hand for the on-court referees to take a second look, the play stood as called; providing a turning point in the game. Denver converted a free throw and a basket on the ensuing inbounds play to begin a run to put the game away for good. There were still some performances to be happy about today, Petersen remarked. I don t care who you are, if you get 14 rebounds that s a bunch. I thought Briesha did a great job on the glass. Although North Texas may not be generating points, they did generate extra shot opportunities. Led by senior Briesha Wynn s stellar 15-point, 14-rebound individual performance, the Mean Green recorded team season highs in offensive rebounds (18), defensive rebounds (29) and total rebounds (47).

Since being introduced as the seventh coach in North Texas women s basketball history on April 16, 2012, Petersen has changed the perception of North Texas women s basketball into that of a contender. Prior to arriving at North Texas, Petersen was the head coach at Wake Forest from 2004-12 and is the school s all-time winningest coach. He is a coaching veteran with over 30 years of experience, including three seasons as the head coach at TCU. Petersen guided Wake Forest to unprecedented heights in leading the Demon Deacons to the postseason in three of the past four seasons and winning 72 games, which is the best stretch in Wake Forest women s basketball history. He has also been a head coach at Gonzaga (1985-89), New Mexico State (1992-96), and TCU (1996-99). Petersen also spent five seasons with the Minnesota men s basketball team (1999-2004), serving as associate head coach for four seasons. Prior to taking over at TCU, Petersen was the women s head coach at New Mexico State University from 1992-96. In his four seasons with the Aggies, Petersen recorded three consecutive 20-win seasons and compiled an 81-38 (.681) overall record and a 53-19 (.736) record in Big West Conference games. Petersen began his head coaching career in 1985 when he accepted the head women s coaching position at Gonzaga University. During his first season, Petersen led the Zags to a 21-10 record and missed the NAIA National Tournament by a game. After an 11-16 record in their transition year into NCAA Division I, Gonzaga captured the West Coast Conference title in its inaugural season and only their second year at the Division I level. He won 65 games in four seasons at Gonzaga.
