Date Site Score WP LP Att. 5/9 @ NY L, 3-6 Yates Young 41,243 5/10 @ NY L, 7-10 Miller Herrera 39,128 5/11 @ NY W, 7-3 Ventura Pineda 31,226 5/12 @ NY 8/29 KC 8/30 KC 8/31 KC BACK IN THE WIN COLUMN--The Royals rode a four-run first inning last night to snap out of a threegame slide and posting a 7-3 victory over the Yankees...the win, KC s second in six games on this road, pulled the Royals back to within a game of.500 on the year...salvador Perez keyed the first inning uprising with a three-run homer off of starting and losing hurler Michael Pineda...Kansas City added two more in the sixth when Lorenzo Cain delivered the club s first hit of the year with the bases loaded in 14 tries to drive home a pair...yordano Ventura snapped a personal two-game slide with 6.0 innings of six-hit ball, allowing three runs with three walks and a strikeout...danny Duffy, Kelvin Herrera and Wade Davis each tossed a scoreless frame to seal the victory...eric Hosmer had a pair of hits, while Kendrys Morales scored twice and clubbed his fourth homer of the year...a win tonight would give Kansas City a split of this visit to Yankee Stadium and snap a four-series losing streak that dates back to the last week of April. West, when the club parlayed that triumph into its first World Series title...the 95 wins last year were the most by a KC squad since the 1980 Royals went 97-65...dating back to the start of the 2013 season, Kansas City has a 286-233 record for a.551 winning pct., the best mark in the American League, fourth best in the Majors (behind St. Louis, Pittsburgh and L.A.)... KC has four more total wins in that span than the second best A.L. club Baltimore (282). THE COMEBACK KIDS--In winning 11 games during the 2015 postseason, the Royals had to come from behind in eight of those victories, including an unprecedented seven comebacks from a multiple-run deficit...kc rallied from a one-run deficit in Game #2 of the World Series against the Mets, while coming back from two runs behind on three other occasions during the Fall Classic, capped by the two-run rally in the top of the ninth inning of the deciding Game #5, sending the game to extra innings with the Royals plating five runs in the 12th to seal the title...kansas City also rallied from a two-run deficit in the deciding game of the ALDS vs. the Astros to advance to the League Championship Series vs. Toronto...the Royals came from three runs back in Game #2 of both the ALDS vs. Houston and the ALCS vs. the Blue Jays...the biggest comeback of the fall matched the same scenario of the 2014 Wild Card game vs. the A s, as KC was down by four runs to Houston with six outs to go in game #4 at Minute Maid Park, but plated five in the top of the eighth and two more in the ninth to get to a deciding Game #5 in Kauffman Stadium. vs. Yankees (2016) vs. Yankees (career) On Road (career) Eovaldi (career) Teheran (career) Player AVG AB H HR RBI AVG AB H HR RBI AVG AB H HR RBI AVG AB H HR RBI AVG AB H HR RBI Butera - - - - -.158 19 3 0 1.197 390 77 7 37.000 3 0 0 0 - - - - - Cain.417 12 5 3 7.290 69 20 3 17.279 1008 281 18 108.500 2 1 0 0 - - - - - Colon.250 4 1 0 0.250 4 1 0 0.311 90 28 0 9 - - - - - - - - - - Cuthbert.308 13 4 1 2.308 13 4 1 2.194 31 6 1 3 - - - - - - - - - - Dyson.200 10 2 0 0.219 64 14 1 6.241 548 132 0 26 1.000 2 2 0 1 - - - - - Escobar.250 12 3 0 1.241 133 32 0 8.259 1948 504 13 157.250 4 1 0 0 - - - - - Gordon.333 9 3 1 2.238 227 54 4 23.262 2247 589 68 241.333 3 1 0 0 - - - - - Hosmer.250 12 3 1 1.242 132 32 4 14.285 1525 435 46 200.500 2 1 0 0 - - - - - Infante.250 8 2 0 0.247 150 37 2 10.278 2705 752 53 290.500 6 3 0 0 - - - - - Morales.091 11 1 1 1.272 162 44 7 25.265 1665 441 68 242.333 3 1 0 0.000 2 0 0 0 Orlando 1.000 1 1 0 0.292 24 7 1 3.220 132 29 3 10.000 3 0 0 0 - - - - - Perez.250 12 3 1 3.234 94 22 3 13.274 1157 317 40 150 - - - - - - - - - - Starting Pitchers Breakdown Total KC Avg.
