WHAT IS THE OUTREACH FOR HOPE FAMILY BIKE RIDE - WAUKESHA? It's a chance to enjoy biking with family and friends of all ages on roads or trails in the beautiful Kettle Moraine while helping to raise money for Outreach for Hope, which supports the vital ministries of central city churches in the Greater Milwaukee Synod. WHEN IS THE OUTREACH FOR HOPE FAMILY BIKE RIDE - WAUKESHA? Saturday, September 8, 2018. WHAT ARE THE RIDE OPTIONS? There are 20-, 30-, and 50-mile road rides on mostly flat, paved country roads in western Waukesha/eastern Jefferson counties. All routes are essentially the same as last year, with minor changes for improved rider experience. There is a 14-mile out-and-back ride on the paved Glacial Drumlin Trail in Waukesha County. Riders may turn around at any point for a shorter ride. Trail mileage will be marked. WHERE DO THE RIDES START AND FINISH? St. Bruno Parish, 226 W. Ottawa Ave., Dousman, WI 53118. WHAT ARE THE REGISTRATION FEES? $35 for Individual Riders; $70 for a Family Leader and Family Members; $0 for a Volunteer; $0 for a Virtual Rider. Day of the Event fees will be $50 for Individual Riders and $100 for Family Leaders and Family Members. Registration fees are not tax deductible, as they cover the cost of the event. Your additional donations, and fund-raised donations, support Outreach for Hope ministries, and are tax-deductible as described by law.

HOW DO I REGISTER? Online registration, including payment of fees, is easy and preferred. Online registration takes place on a secure web site, www.ofhbikeride.com, created by Salsa Labs, a leading online fundraising solutions provider. Online registrations will receive a confirmation receipt. Mail-in registration is also available. Contact Outreach for Hope at 414.671.1212 for more details. WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH MY REGISTRATION? Riders and Volunteers receive: ride T-Shirt; catered picnic lunch. Riders also receive Rider Packets containing: a rider identification bib, event and sponsor literature, cue sheets and maps. Trail Riders age 16 and over receive a State Trail Pass. If you already have a state trail pass, you are encouraged to bring it with you. Rider Packets will be available at Check-In on the day of the event. WHEN DO THE RIDES START? WHEN SHOULD I CHECK IN? The 50-mile Road Ride starts at 7:30 am. Arrive before 7:00 am for Check-in. The 30-mile Road Ride starts at 8:30 am. Arrive before 8:00 am for Check-in. The 20-mile Road Ride starts at 9:00 am. Arrive before 8:30 am for Check-in. The Trail Ride starts at 9:30 am. Arrive before 9:00 am for Check-in. Start times for all Road Rides have been set so that the rides can be completed by 12:30. 50-mile riders who do not complete the 30-mile loop by 10:30 should be advised that there will be no rider support after 12:30, and that picnic lunch selections may be limited after 12:30. Check-in will take place inside the St. Bruno Parish gymnasium. Enter from the North side of the building. ALL CLEATED SHOES MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE ENTERING THE BUILDINGS.

WHEN DOES THE PICNIC START? CAN I ATTEND THE PICNIC ONLY? The picnic will start at approximately 11:30 and continue until 1:00 pm. The picnic will be served inside the St. Bruno Parish gymnasium. Enter from the North side of the building. ALL CLEATED SHOES MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE ENTERING THE BUILDINGS. People may attend the picnic only; a freewill donation will be appreciated. AM I REQUIRED TO WEAR A HELMET? Yes! Helmets are required for everyone for both the Road Rides and the Trail Ride! WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS? The Outreach for Hope Family Bike Ride takes place rain or shine. In the unlikely event that weather on the day of the ride creates conditions that the organizers feel are unsafe for riding, the ride will be cancelled. If that happens, registration fees will not be refunded, but will be considered donations to Outreach for Hope. WHAT HAPPENS IF MY BIKE BREAKS DOWN DURING THE RIDE? A mechanic will be available at the start of the ride (at St. Bruno s) to make minor adjustments. SAG (Support And Gear) vehicles will be available at the rest stops of the Road Rides to provide minor mechanical assistance, or to bring you back to the start if your bike cannot be ridden safely. A SAG vehicle will "sweep" the Road Rides to pick up anyone who is unable to finish the course. There will be no SAG vehicle support for the Road Rides after 12:30. There will be no SAG support for the Trail Ride, but there will be Leaders and Sweeps to monitor progress and breakdowns. Emergency contact phone numbers will be provided in the Ride Packets.

ARE THERE REST STOPS ON THE RIDES? Rest stops for the 50-mile Road Ride will be at approximately 16 miles (Palmyra), 30 miles (St. Bruno s) and 40 miles (Delafield). Rest stops for the 30-mile Road Ride will be at approximately 16 miles (Palmyra), and 30 miles (St. Bruno s). Rest stop for the 20-mile Road Ride will be at approximately 10 miles (Delafield); same location as 40-mile rest stop for 50-mile Road Ride. A rest stop for the Trail Ride will be at the Wales trail-head (approximately 7 miles from the Start). ARE ROADS CLOSED TO TRAFFIC DURING THE RIDES? No. Road riders will be sharing the roads with normal motorized vehicular traffic. For the Trail Ride, riders will travel a short distance on village streets to access the trail. For the Trail Ride, volunteers will be monitoring points where the Glacial Drumlin Trail crosses streets/roads/highways for motorized vehicular traffic. They cannot stop traffic. All riders are encouraged to exercise caution when encountering motorized vehicular traffic. HOW DO I GET TO ST. BRUNO PARISH? Exit I-94 West at the Oconomowoc/Dousman Exit #282 at Hwy 67. Take Hwy 67 south past Hwy 18 to Hwy. Z (Ottawa Avenue); about 4 miles. Take Hwy Z west to St. Bruno Parish (about.7 mile). Turn right into parking lot entrance just east of church building. WHERE CAN I PARK AT ST. BRUNO PARISH? Parking is available in the lot(s) behind (to the north of) the Parish buildings. All parking and Ride activities (registration, picnic etc.) will take place behind (north of) the Parish buildings.

WHAT AMENITIES WILL I FIND AT ST. BRUNO PARISH? There is an abundance of parking in the lots north of the Parish buildings. There is a playground area for children. Washrooms are available inside the school building. Enter from the North side of the building. ALL CLEATED SHOES MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE ENTERING THE BUILDINGS. CAN RIDERS FORM TEAMS FOR THE RIDES? Riders can form teams as a way of increasing ridership and fundraising support. All team members must register and pay separately as an Individual, Family, Virtual Rider or Volunteer. IS FUNDRAISING REQUIRED? When you register for the Ride as an Individual, a Family, a Volunteer or a Virtual Rider, you will be asked to become a fundraiser. Please do so in order to complete your registration. Becoming a fundraiser will enable you to expand your support of Outreach for Hope. At the completion of their registration, online registrants will be directed to their own personal, secure fundraising web page (created for them by Salsa Labs, a leading internet fundraising solutions provider). There individuals and families can: o use or edit their own personal web page; o send email or social media communications to family and friends to ask for their support; o set a donation "goal" and track progress toward that goal. Registrants can also collect donations of cash or checks (made payable to Outreach for Hope, Inc.). All such donations are due to Outreach for Hope, 1212 S. Layton Blvd., Milwaukee, WI 53215 by September 30. All proceeds benefit Outreach for Hope ministries. Family and friends are also encouraged to make donations via credit card on the registration website at www.ofhbikeride.com, or on the Outreach for Hope website at www.outreachforhope.org. Your additional donations, and fund-raised donations, support Outreach for Hope ministries, and are tax-deductible as described by law.

HOW CAN I LEARN MORE ABOUT OUTREACH FOR HOPE? You can go to the OFH web site at www.outreachforhope.org where you will find information about the mission of Outreach for Hope, read newsletters, and learn about the many options for making a donation. You can call the OFH office, located in the office of the Greater Milwaukee Synod at 414-671-1212. There you can talk with Advancement Director, Maripat Monahan or Executive Director, Tim Larson.
