Cats Last Night: Trailing 2-0 in the 9th inning, the Cats mounted a dramatic comeback scoring 7 runs to steal victory from the jaws of defeat. Starter Juri Perez threw 7 innings of scoreless ball, and Jamaine Cotton got the win, going 2 innings to close out the game for the Cats. Ryan Dineen s two-run single in the ninth tied the game for Tri- City before Emilio King followed a go-ahead single of his own. Historic Streaking: The win last night was the Cats 11th in a row, a franchise record. They have not lost in nearly two weeks dating back to June 23rd. Three Sweeps: Over the course of their streak, Tri-City has swept three-game series from the Connecticut Tigers and the Lowell Spinners, twice. King of the Hill: The ValleyCats have also opened up a 4- game lead in the Stedler Division. Pure Dominance: Over the course of the winning streak, the ValleyCats have outscored the opposition by a margin of 68-29, exactly doubling their opponents offensive output. League Leading Cats: Andrew Aplin.405/.534 is in the top 5 in batting average, and on-base percentage, and is first in steals (11). Catfish Elkins 20 hits are good for 5th in the league. Dan Gulbransen and Jobduan Morales are both tied for the league lead in RBI (13). Strong Pitching Continues: ValleyCats pitching is first in the NY-Penn League with an ERA of 2.34. Cats starters have now thrown 73.1 innings and have allowed just 10 earned runs. This equates to a 1.23 ERA for the starting rotation. Year-to-Date: Through 16 games last season, Tri-City was 6-10. On July 4th, they beat Vermont 4-0 at The Joe in front of 6,888 fans on a sold out Independence Day.
