ITS Introduction ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) is the integration of information and communications technology with transport infrastructure, vehicles and users. By sharing vital information, ITS allows people to get more from transport networks, in greater safety and with less impact on the environment Vehicle Infrastructure ICT Road user Road manager Global control and positioning of vehicles, pedestrians and infrastructure allows new, revolutionary traffic management tools.

Enablers: ITS Cooperative systems ITS allows vehicles to communicate directly with the infrastructure around them and with one another V2V Vehicle to Vehicle V2I Vehicle to Infrastructure I2I Infrastructure to Infrastructure enabling drivers to make better decisions about their route and respond to warnings of congestion and accidents

ITS Projects in IDIADA Applus IDIADA has leaded and collaborated in several ITS projects in charge of: Design and implementation of ITS on board technologies Application software definition Platform design&deployment Testing and validation in our proving grounds and facilities Main projects to the date: INTELVIA ITS-AVAL SARTRE etrafic

Project ITS-AVAL ITS-AVAL OBJECTIVE: Setup and implementation of safety applications, based on cooperative vehicles and infrastructure ICA Intersection Collision Avoidance LCW Lane Change Warning EEBL Emergency Electronic Brake Lights HCW Head on Collision Warning ITS AVAL establishes the main hardware and software architecture in order to test and certificate now and future ITS services, applications and standards

Project INTELVIA OBJECTIVE: Design, implementation and validation of an Integral Control, Signaling and Communication System in order to offer a Safe and Intelligent Operational Traffic Management INTELVIA establishes the main hardware and software architecture in order to achieve advanced road management tools and services

Project SARTRE OBJECTIVE: Developing strategies and technologies to allow vehicle platoons to operate on normal public highways with significant environmental, safety and comfort benefits. SARTRE introduces new driving concepts integrating cooperative systems and autonomous driving in order to achieve new transport models

Project etrafic OBJECTIVE: Design and deploy a versatile and fully functional ITS platform in our Proving Grounds etrafic etrafic establishes the main platform in order to test and certificate today s and future ITS services, applications and standards in a safe, reliable and repeatable environment.
