HANDGUNS HANDGUNS Introduction to Handguns Introduction to Handguns SafeFire Course Curriculum: Handgun 100 Introduction to Handguns Available in a Single Evening Where do you start? What do you need to know to be safe? SafeFire s Introduction to Handguns course is a 3-hour course designed for those individuals with little to no handgun experience. Following the classroom instruction, students will have the opportunity to practice the skills learned in class with live-fire exercises. If you are a beginner with little to no experience, this is the class for you. Handgun safety Different types of handguns Types of ammunition Safe methods for loading and unloading Live-fire exercises Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 50 rounds of ammunition for the firearm you will use. A handgun may be rented at no cost, however SafeFire range ammunition must be purchased for use in the rental. Basic Handgun SafeFire Course Curriculum: Handgun 200 Basic Handgun This course is designed around learning the fundamental skills behind shooting handguns both safely and accurately and is the second-level class in the SafeFire Handgun Curriculum. The Basic Handgun course is a 3 to 4-hour course with a high instructor-to-student ratio, allowing for close personal hands-on attention while still being in a relaxed classroom environment. Course instruction includes classroom work, hands on dry-fire and live-fire practice. Excellent for beginners to intermediate shooters Key fundamental features include grip, proper gun operation, stance, sighting and range rules Learn and review gun safety Practice one of the hardest skills to master trigger control Excellent review for the seasoned shooters that have not been shooting in a while Great preparation for anyone looking at the Concealed Carry course Highly recommended for students interested in moving on to the more advanced shooting courses basic handgun Course tuition is $50.00 Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 100 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use. Practical Handgun HANDGUNS HANDGUNS 7 Practical Handgun SafeFire Course Curriculum: Handgun 300 Practical Handgun The Practical Handgun course is the third in the sequence of handgun instruction at SafeFire. It builds upon the skills found in the Basic Handgun course and on your own personal experience. Our Practical Handgun course focuses on the more complex movements required in defensive shooting. The class is 7 to 8-hours (sometimes broken up over 2 days), and includes classroom work, hands-on dry-fire practice and live-fire drills. Proper methods to draw from the holster Accuracy with shooting the first shot from the holster Multi-round shots & follow through Appropriate sight picture at various target distances Basic reloading techniques Basic malfunction clearances Personal shooting experience is required or successful completion of the Basic Handgun course Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 300 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use. Semi-Automatic pistol with three (3) magazines & spare magazine carrier A quality strong side holster (no shoulder holsters) Course tuition is $120.00 SafeFire Indoor Shooting Range 360.834.7233 Defensive Handgun SafeFire Course Curriculum: Handgun 400 Defensive Handgun The Defensive Handgun course is the fourth in the sequence of handgun instruction at SafeFire and builds upon the skills found in the Practical Handgun course. The class is 7 to 8-hours, (sometimes broken up over 2 days), and includes classroom work, hands-on dry-fire practice and live-fire drills. The class is 7 to 8-hours, (sometimes broken up over 2 days), and includes classroom work, hands on dry-fire practice and live-fire drills. Advanced shooting with movement Advanced shooting with cover/concealment Advanced low light shooting techniques Close quarter/retention shooting Searching/clearing techniques Handgun retention, in and out of the holster Successful completion of the Defensive Handgun course Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 300 rounds of ammunition for the firearm you will use. This class is designed for a shooter who has recently purchased a military style rifle and would like to know the basics of its use. This class is a prerequisite for the Practical Rifle and Advanced Rifle courses. If you are buying an AR15, M1, AK47 or any military-style rifle, this is a great course to add on to your purchase. SHOTGUNS Introduction to Shotguns Introduction to Shotguns SafeFire Course Curriculum: Shotgun 100 Introduction to Shotguns Introduction to Shotguns is a 3-hour course designed to provide students with the basic instruction and understanding of the shotgun. The shotgun can be a great all-around tool for not only fun target shooting, but also a very effective defensive weapon for the home. It will also leverage all the skills acquired in Practical Shotgun and take them to the next level. Grab your bandolier of shotgun shells and stretch out your shoulder as we are going to be doing a lot of range-time shooting here! Students learn NRA s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions; cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students are taught the five rules for safe gun handling and safe storage of firearms in the home, as well as what a child should do if they find a gun in someone else s home. This class is designed for your family to attend together and will discuss your family s individual needs in regards to firearm safety in the home. It will also cover how to be prepared from the perspective of families with children in the home. SELF PREPAREDNESS Youth introduction to firearms Youth Introduction to Firearms SafeFire Course Curriculum: Preparedness 200 Youth Introduction to Firearms This 2-hour course is designed for youth with no previous shooting experience. It will introduce your child to safe handling and basic shooting techniques with a.22 caliber rifle. Following the classroom instruction, students will have the opportunity to practice the skills learned in class with live-fire exercises. Included in the course is the rental firearm, ammunition, target, eye and ear protection and a free t-shirt for the child. Minimum age to participate is 6 years old and a parent must accompany each child during the class. SELF PREPAREDNESS Advanced Concealed Carry Advanced Concealed Carry SafeFire Course Curriculum: Preparedness 400 Advanced Concealed Carry When it comes to carrying a concealed weapon, the Basic Concealed Carry course only scratches the surface. If you are just getting into the sport, or are looking for more than the minimum, this is the course for you. This course provides the best knowledge and preparation for both novice and experienced shooters.
