COMMODORE : GEORGE HANRAHAN Hello SunSeekers! 313.903.6436 geo0071@yahoo.com Summer has finally ended and the fall weather is here. I want to thank all of you that were able to support our club by attending the poker runs this past summer. It was great to see so many SunSeeker s having such a great time at these events. I would also like to thank all of you that attended the steak roast on Friday, September 21 st. The club was packed and everyone had a great time. In addition, I would like to extend special thanks to all of you who assisted making this event a success whether it was bringing food, helping to setup, bartend or assistance cleaning. Please see the rules for the bartending competition to support the food pantry and consider signing up. This is a great way to get your work hours in and support our local food pantry. The rules are posted at the club and Rear Commodore Al Drew can put you on the bartender schedule. On Thursday, September 27 th we will be unveiling the SunSeeker of the Year plaque. All former winners of the award have been invited to our club for the ceremony that evening at 7:00 PM. This is open to all SunSeeker s, so please make an attempt to come by. The SunSeeker s Cocktail reception is the last of the cocktail parties for the season. Now that summer is over and the cocktail receptions are complete, the balls are starting up again. During October, we will be attending the West River Yacht and Cruising Club Ball on Saturday, October 13 th and the Riverview Yacht Club Ball on October 20 th. We have many great events coming up at the club for the remainder of the year. Please offer to help at these events whether it is by bringing a dish, assisting with setup or bartending. It is the volunteers that make these events successful. We need and are very grateful for all the help we get. I hope you have all had a fabulous summer and look forward to seeing you at the club. Sincerely, George Hanrahan Commodore

Hello SunSeekers, It s official, summer is over. Hopefully you have enough water under your boat to enjoy some great fall boating. We had a couple great events in the month of September. Commodore George Hanrahan had a Steak Roast on the 21 st of September, and we had our Scrub & Grub at the Club Party on the 30 th. The Scrub & Grub Party was our final clean up before Oktoberfest along with a Chili cook off while watching Lion s game. I want to thank everyone that showed up for the last clean up, along with all the Monday evening clean ups. The club is looking outstanding. If anyone is looking for a great Chili recipe, please ask Jan Marcum. Jan was the winner of the chili cook off. On October 6 th, we will be having our annual Cocktail Reception and Oktoberfest. The tent will be up, and we will be having entertainment & food. Shane LaMay will be playing from 5:00 to 7:30pm and the Copykats will be starting at 9:00. Please mark this date on your calendar and come up for a fun evening. Up Coming Events: October 6 th : Cocktail Reception / Oktoberfest October 19 th : Steak Roast October 26 th : Halloween Party All of these events are listed on the event calendar, along with all the other scheduled events for the year. Please take a moment to look and mark your calendars. If you have any ideas for an event or would like to have an event at the club, please let me know so we can work together to make it a success. Once again, thank you for a great year and let s continue to make SSBC the best club around. Sincerely, Matt Romak Vice Commodore VICE COMMODORE: MATT ROMAK 734.231.7192 Matt.Romak@gmail.com
