Golf Days at The Drift Golf Club
Welcome to the Drift Golf Club Originally part of the Lord Lovelace Estate, the Drift Golf Club nestles at the foot of the North Surrey Hills just 20 miles from the centre of London. Peace and tranquillity are the order of the day at the Drift and you will often be accompanied on your round by deer, foxes and pheasants. Created in the mid-70's by Sir Henry Cotton and architect Robert Sandow, the par 73 18-hole course is 6,425 yards long and makes use of the mature oak woodlands in which it was created. Strategically placed water hazards and bunkers along with tree lined fairways makes accuracy a premium and the course rewarding for all standards of play. At the Drift we offer several Society Packages to suit your needs but we specialise in customising your specific day's activities to meet your individual requirements. We can cater for both small and large groups, societies can start from as little as 8 people, and go up to as many as 120 for large or corporate events. As part of your Drift experience, we also offer extras such as Nearest the Pin and Longest Drive. Group Tuition can also be arranged along with prize tables and a score card marking service. An eye for detail and doing the little things just right ensures that we maintain our reputation as a one of Surrey s most popular Society venues. We pride ourselves on the number of repeat visits we get each year and many groups have now become firm friends with all at the Drift. Dress Code & Local Rules Smart casual dress is required at all times and golf shoes must be worn on the golf course. Recreational clothing such as Denim, Jeans, Training Shoes, Track Suits, Slogan Type Sports or Collarless T-Shirts are not permitted. Only tailored trousers and shorts are permitted. Shorts must be worn with either long socks or white sports socks. The use of Mobile Phones is not permitted in the clubhouse, on the course or practice range, except in the event of an emergency. Please ensure that golf shirts are tucked in at all times. The etiquette and the rules of Golf as laid down by the governing bodies must be observed at all times. The targeted maximum pace of play at The Drift is two hours per nine holes. For the enjoyment of your guests and other golfers we politely request that society organisers select a format of play which will enable their players to comfortably achieve this time. Our Professionals would be delighted to help discuss and select a format from a variety of enjoyable options. INSURANCE IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH INDIVIDUAL TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY ARE ADEQUATELY INSURED FOR ANY LOSS OR INJURY HOWSOEVER CAUSED WHILE AT THE DRIFT GOLF CLUB. HEALTH & SAFETY ANY ACCIDENT OR INCIDENT MUST BE REPORTED STRAIGHT AWAY TO A STAFF MEMBER OF THE DRIFT GOLF CLUB. Rules for large groups & corporate days TWO TEE STARTS Any two tee starts requested by a group will be subject to availability on the date in question. The management reserve the right to refuse a two tee start to groups that do not adhere to the minimum number of players or for selected times of the day. SHOTGUN STARTS Shotgun starts are also subject to availability and minimum numbers. The management reserve the right to refuse a shotgun start to groups that do not adhere to the minimum number of players or for selected times of the day. There will be an additional fee for shotgun starts unless stated otherwise by the management. TEE TIME INTERVALS Please note that The Drift tee times allow 8 minutes between each tee off. All groups must keep to these timings.
