Holiday Festival of Dance Answers to most-frequently asked questions TICKETS Q: Why are tickets so limited? A: With nearly 500 children enrolled in our Youth Dance program, we must limit pre sale tickets to the performance so that dancers immediate family can see them dance. We are holding the event at the San Mateo High School Gym (SMHS) and the seating capacity is only 1200 seats. Therefore, in order to accommodate everyone, we offer two performances. Q: If I have two children dancing in the show, how many tickets can I get? A: During the Pre-sale, each family can order up to a total of 10 tickets maximum of any combination of child, adult, or subsidized tickets. Please be specific on your order form regarding which Show you will be attending and the type of Tickets you want. Be sure to order your tickets during the family ticket pre-sale, which ends November 12 th. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the public sale starting Monday, November 21 st. If you plan on attending only one night, then you need to purchase a ticket for the one night you are attending. Every person in the audience needs a ticket to each show they are planning to see. To ensure your child s safety, every child 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult to each performance. Please see options below. To ensure that all children 12 and under are accompanied by an adult to each performance: 1) Parents can become a Group Leader and receive a complimentary ticket for the second Show. 2) Parents/Guardians can buy tickets to both nights of the performance and have one family member attend the first night and another family member attends the second night. 3) Team up with another parent or friend whose child is in your same class. One parent may carpool their child and yours to the one performance then vice versa for the second performance. 4) The San Mateo Dance Association (SMDA) will be providing a limited amount of subsidized tickets to families experiencing financial hardship. The SMDA will cover the cost of one ticket per family for the second show to help ensure that your child is accompanied by an adult to both performances. Families on the City's Recreation Fee Assistance program who fill out and turn in this request form will receive first priority.
