Lakeside Country Club Newsletter July 2015 1520 Rose Garden Drive Metairie, LA 70005 834-9200; www.lakesidecountryclub.org MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Dear Members of Lakeside Country Club It s hard to believe that half of the summer is over, but there are still many fun events planned at Lakeside Country Club for members of all ages. The 4 th of July celebration was WONDERFUL! Thanks first must go to Maureen, our General Manager, for coordinating all of the events during the day. We also want to recognize the Breakfast Crew for the tasty omelets and sweet waffles, the Bartenders for the delicious (and cheap) Mimosas and Bloody Marys, the JPFD Firemen for leading all the members in our bike parade, the Managers on Duty for directing the games, and last but not least, the DJ who added so much entertainment for several hours. It was the perfect addition to the day! Hopefully all of you have noticed the upgrades around the grounds such as sturdier chairs and tables, the fancy new barbeque grill on wheels, a new gate between the pool area and tennis courts and the striping in the parking lot to better define parking spaces making the best use of our limited space. As a Board, we are always discussing and planning ways to maintain and improve our Club. Please know that we welcome your comments and suggestions on how improvements or changes can enhance our members experiences and enjoyment. Just drop a little note in the Suggestion Box which is located outside of the office. Although we staff our establishment with as many employees as we feel necessary to accommodate our members and what Lakeside has to offer, we appreciate your assistance by letting us know if the bathrooms need attention, if you notice something the manager on duty may not be aware of and mostly following the general rules. Remind children that they must have tennis shoes on their feet to play on the tennis courts, and then only if the courts are not in use, no food or drinks are allowed on the tennis courts, and if the lights are not on, no one should be on the courts at night. Trash cans are spread out around the club so that members can easily dispose of their trash when they are finished eating or drinking no matter where they are sitting. Remember, members are allowed to bring in any food items they wish, but members may NOT bring drinks of any kind onto the premises. This rule is and has been in place as per our liquor license and our staff has participated and been certified through the Louisiana Responsible Vendor Certification Class. Also, we want to remind members that the Lost and Found basket/pile is near the south side of the club by the ping pong table. When our employees find items that have been left behind, they put them in that area. If you or a family member is missing something, check there. You may be surprised how many things are left behind and forgotten. All members are expected to have their membership cards available when they enter the gate to check in with our Gate Keeper. Parents who allow their children who are old enough to come to the club without their parents also need to have a card to enter. It is also requested that you present your card when making purchases at the Cove Grill and Splash Bar. This helps to ensure the right account is being charged or credited when a transaction is handled. Please remember to keep your accounts current, and that we accept cash, check or credit cards for payment - whether it is for your payment of dues or to add money to your concessions account. Our Dive Team and Swim Team are gearing up for the Meets of Champs which are scheduled in the latter part of July. Best of luck goes to Coach Rob and Coach Peggy and all of our Lakeside Lasers Divers and Swimmers; let s bring home the trophies again this year.
