WCFW offers a variety of activities to appeal to all types of shooters. Below is an example of just a few. Please be sure to check the calendar on our website for additional information and to confirm times and dates. Practical pistol shooting combines skill, speed, accuracy and adrenaline into a handgun sport that is available and fun for people of ALL skill levels and ages. You are welcome to come shoot with us if you have vast experience with handguns or are completely new to firearms. Our USPSA matches at WCFW are very well attended and full of folks who are very willing and open to helping you get into the sport. Equipment requirements are minimal to get you going; in fact you can participate with most any handgun to get started. You just need a holster and a few magazines. We have a safety meeting available before our monthly matches so that you are familiar with the range commands and the flow of a stage. We encourage family participation and always love to see new lady shooters and Jr. shooters (under age 18). As USPSA club president I would be happy to answer any questions you might have and get you ready for your first match. We hope to see you soon. Matches are held the third Sunday of each month. For further information, please contact Matt Unger at zjhokunger@aol.com Action Pistol also known as Steel Challenge is another opportunity to enjoy the shooting sports. Eight stages consisting of five steel targets each, with one of them being the stop plate, gives you the chance to improve on speed and accuracy. All types of approved center fire handguns.22lr rifles and pistols, along with pistol caliber carbines are welcome. Shooters of all ages and level of proficiency participate in this sport. This is a great way to get started in the shooting sports and is very family friendly. Matches are held the first Saturday of each month. There is an annual Colorado State Steel Challenge held at the beginning of August, shot over a couple days, registration is in advance and there are cash prizes along with a random prize table. The application is on the WCFW web site. There is also a rimfire only match held on the Saturday of Labor Day week end, shot in one day, registration is in advance and again there are cash prizes and a random prize table. This application is also on the WCFW web site. Weld County Fish and Wildlife Shooting Range welcomes 4H, Junior American, and International Skeet programs. The range is open Wednesdays 2PM 5PM and Saturdays 10AM to 3PM. Range officers will work to accommodate schedules outside of these times upon request. Cost per round: members $5, non-members $7, 4H and Juniors $4. Please direct questions to Bill Mason at (cell) 970-616-9622. I.C.O.R.E. (International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts). We shoot Double Action center fire Revolvers at a combination of Steel & Paper targets. We shoot on the fourth Sunday of the month year round, weather permitting. Sign up starts at 9:00 a.m. If you have questions call - John Peabody 970-346-9766 or email jtp3845@comcast.net If you ever thought you would like to test your skill at Sporting Clays now is the time. Our Club Range Officers always enjoy new faces and enjoy helping new people learn the fundamentals in a safe environment. You can shoot sporting clays to better your field hunting ability or many shoot sporting clays with no aspiration of shooting an animal afield. Expect to shoot Rabbits, Midis, Battues, and Standard Clay Targets. Arrive with 100 rounds of 7 ½ or smaller shot and bring any shotgun you own. Wednesday evening is a great way to clean the mid-week mind and enjoy the cool air and spectacular sunsets adjacent to the Pawnee National Grasslands. On Saturday it is possible to start at 10am and still be home in the early afternoon. Members, Non-members and juniors are always welcome. ATTENTION ALL WCFW MEMBERS: North berm 1 is open again. There is still a reward of $1,000.00 for information in the help of the arrest and conviction of the SHOOTER OR SHOOTERS who shot holes in our practice steel targets on North Berm 1. If you have any information please CONTACT ANY BOARD MEMBER

PO Box 730 Eaton, CO 80615 ABOUT THE HIGH PLAINS SHOOTING RANGE This organization of sportsmen and sportswomen was founded as a non-profit conservation club over forty years ago. The association is still heavily involved in conservation issues, but has expanded its involvement into education and promotion of the shooting sports. The association owns a 123 acre range facility eight miles east and one mile south of Ault, Colorado. Organized activities include bench rest, high power, and black powder rifle events; trap, skeet, and sporting clays events; IPSC, ICORE, Action Pistol handgun events; archery and Junior Shooting programs. We are fortunate to have several NRA Certified Instructors to teach classes in rifle, handgun, and shotgun safety. The range opens at 7:30AM on weekdays and 8:00AM on weekends, closing at sunset. Club meetings are on the second Thursday of each month. During the December meeting elections of board members and club officers is held. Club meetings start at 7:00 PM and are open to all members.
