Contest field opens every day at 07:00, transmitter impound at 07:30. Breakfast is served at the field 07:15 08:15. Lunch is served at the field 12:30 15:00 without any break in flying. PRACTISING: There is a practising field available about 30 kilometres from town at Immola airfield Imatra. Practising at the contest field is only allowed on Saturday and Sunday. CONTEST RULES: The contests will be run according to the current rules of the FAI Sporting Code. LOCAL RULES: In distance just before the start of the model every pilot or his helper has to announce clearly his signal, such as Aplha starting. Etc. The Model must not be released before confirmation of the flight line manager. During the start the flight line manager announces the signal of the starting model via loudspeaker. ANTHEMS AND FLAGS Please bring with you a cd or a c-cassette with your national anthem recorded on it. Please bring also with you one national flag.
FAI LICENSES All pilots and team managers must posses a valid FAI license. FAI Specification Certificates Each competitor must present a fully and correctly completed FAI Specification Certificate for each model entered in the championship, in accordance with Section 4c Part 2, Item 2.3.5 of the FAI Sporting Code. These Specification Certificates must be certified and stamped by your NAC. Models presented for registration which are not properly processed with FAI certificates and stickers by their NAC, shall be processed by the organizers at a cost of 20 per model. Other issues: The contest is run on a commercial airfield, which is operational during the competition. Please pay special attention to organizers instructions how to move around the field. Practising on the field. 31/07 Round zero with task B, Distance. 1-5/8 Contest days 6/8 A spare day and official closing ceremonies and banquette on a ship at lake Saimaa. Competition starts every day at 8:00 and stops after finishing the daily program normally 17:00, at latest 21:00. LOCATION: The city of Lappeenranta, which is situated in South-East part of Finland. Lappeenranta has 57.000 inhabitants. The contest will be held at the commercial Airfield, which is situated almost in the central of the city. (Look at http://www.lappeenranta.fi) CLIMATE All the meteorological details are based on observations made during the last 30 years. During August there are 10 days, when it rains more than 1 mm. However it seldom rains the whole day. Daily average temperature is 16,7 C, minimum 12,2 maximum 21,1. Humidity average from 56% to 70% Moderate to low winds. PROTEST FEES: A protest may be submitted according to the FAI Sporting Code, accompanied by a EUR 40, refundable if the protest is upheld.
PARTICIPANTS: Each country may enter team consisting of: maximum 3 competitors team manager helpers and supporters reigning World Champion AWARDS: FAI Medals and FAI Diplomas and a trophy for the first, second and third place, individual, small FAI Medals and FAI Diplomas for the three best teams team members and TM. SIL diploma to all participants. FREQUENCIES: These RC frequencies have been allocated to the use of modellers in Finland: 35.000-35.220 MHz (at 10k intervals) This band is recommended. 26.825, 26,845, 26,865, 26,885, 26.905, 26.925, 26.935, 26.945, 26.995, 27.045, 27.095, 27.145, 27.195, 27.255MHz. 40.665, 40.675, 40.685, 40.695, 40.705, 40.715, 40.725, 40.735, 40.745, 40.765, 40.785 MHz. If there is a need for other frequencies, please contact the organiser in advance. There will be additional fee of 50 for getting a special permission to use a frequency outside above list. ACCOMMODATION: There are two alternatives available, both located near the field. A hotel, Sokos Hotel Lappee (www.sokoshotels.fi/english/hotellit/lappee.htm) and an youth hostel and camping place, Huhtiniemi (www.huhtiniemi.com ). Breakfast and dinner will be served in the Hotels as well as on the field. Lunch will be served at the field. Accommodation to these too alternatives is to be ordered with the entry-form and are handled by the organizer. The organizer does not take care of any other reservations. Ship routes between Finland and Sweden are among the busiest in the world. ( www.silja.com and www.wikingline.fi ) You may also consider the fast growing sea link between Tallinn and Helsinki ( www.tallinn.ee ). Early reservations on ships are normally needed. And of course you fly to Lappeenranta on a domestic flight from Helsinki.
