There are currently 3 externally available inputs. There are also 3 digital outputs available (Only one of the Digital Outputs can be activated at a time and not if an auxiliary manifold was being used this will change when v10 software is released.) Metal cell version Contact Ecotech Metal cell version, although we do not advertise this as an option right now we have quoted for one based on the condition that it will be raw metal and won't be coated. You may want to check this with Grant where do we stand with this. Metal cell has advantages and disadvantages, depending on the intended application. Training Contact Ecotech Training required is likely to be less than one day, and can be done over Skype or telephone. The use of remote login to demonstrate is also helpful (ie it is preferred that the customer connects to the internet and provides an IP). Availability of a training person over the next week after the initial training would be desirable as the customer is likely to have a few questions after they start using the software. Page 8
1.2.2 Accessories for the Spectronus The following are not provided with the Spectronus and should be sourced locally or ordered from Ecotech if required. USB mouse & keyboard Customer to supply. USB mouse & USB keyboard (there is only one externally accessibly USB port, but from late 2013 this will be increased to 3 USB ports) Ecotech currently provides a USB hub for connecting a keyboard, mouse and USB stick. Ecotech can supply upon request. LCD or VGA Screen Customer to supply 22 inch widescreen is recommended. Sample Inlet Tubing Synflex composite tubing ¼ ID. 250 foot roll Sample Inlet Tubing Synflex composite tubing 3/4 ID. 250 foot roll. T020002 T020003 Tubing to connect the FTIR inlets from the customer s sample sources and calibration cylinders. Swagelok fittings are supplied. Recommended tubing is Synflex or stainless steel. Ecotech can provide a length of Synflex tubing and/or stainless steel tubing and tube-cutters (separate cutters for Synflex and stainless steel required) upon request As per the above tubing, but recommended for long sample lines. Magnesium Perchlorate (granular) Source locally Magnesium Perchlorate (granular not powder) Dryer/Desiccant media we cannot put this on a plane. (Powder can become too clogged too quickly and therefore becomes too restrictive.) This needs to be sourced by the customer. Page 9
How to order guide Spectronus FTIR Tr ace Gas Analyser 1.0 1.2.3 Carrier and reference gases for the Spectronus The following are not supplied with the Spectronus and should be sourced locally. Nitrogen (industrial grade) Source locally Nitrogen (at least Industrial Grade) for 150cc/m purging of the IR assembly collar. Reference Air Certified Reference Calibration Gases Regulators for above cylinders System for performing CO 2 cross sensitivity tests. Source locally Source locally Source locally Contact Ecotech Reference air/target tank (eg SCUBA tank (preferred) or AIR from gas supplier). Used for more frequent stability checking. Certified Calibration gas (recommended 3 concentrations) is not provided used for high accuracy, occasional calibrations. Ecotech can supply on request (for Australian customers okay, but shipping internationally is expensive). Gas cylinder regulators and spigots not provided. Ecotech can supply, upon request, but cylinder valve type must be specified, or the customer must provide a suitable spigot to suit their cylinders. To perform a CO2 cross sensitivity test, customer will need a dilution/mixing system. They can use 2 rotameters or an Ecotech Gascal 1100 or other gas dilutor. This is only necessary if the customer wishes to do such dilution cross-sensitivity tests. Scrubbers (eg Soda Lime)for such a test are also not provided. Ecotech could supply these items, the Gascal would be a custom mod (eg 2 of 10LPM MFCs) Page 10
1.2.4 Spare parts & consumables Note: Ecotech recommends that an initial maintenance pack be ordered with the Spectronus. This includes one pump kit and two sample filter elements. The following spare parts and consumables are recommended. SCRUBBER ASSY, EMPTY, FTIR (Chemical dryer canister) KIT, DIAPHRAGM AND VALVES FOR MV2NT, FTIR PUMP FILTER, ELEMENT 7 MICRON, SWAGELOK, USED FOR F010011 HRDWRE GLASS WOOL Laser 0.84MW H080128 H080204 F010011-01 H010045 H080118 For continuous measurement sites, the second scrubber can be filled and changed over with minimal interruption or loss of data. It is recommended that this pump kit is purchased with the FTIR (and again immediately after use), so it available for use when required, to minimise down time once a replacement is required. Replacement sample filter elements. It is recommended that some of these are purchased with the FTIR (and again immediately after use), so they available for use when required, to minimise down time once a replacement is required. Used to pack the ends of the Dryer assembly, between which the Magneisum Perchlorate (not supplied) will sit. Laser, 0.84MW, 633 Nm, Helium neon laser. Used for the Bruker FTIR Page 11
How to order guide Spectronus FTIR Tr ace Gas Analyser 1.0 1.3 Spectronus Software All software required to run the Spectronus is provided, however: Analysis (post measurement) software, such as Igor Pro, is not provided. Igor demo (30days) is provided. The customer doesn t have to use Igor, they can use their existing software if they have some, or pay for an Igor license online, or choose another product. Often this processing is done on a separate computer and location to the FTIR itself. Such software is required to derive calibrations, apply calibration corrections, derive and apply cross sensitivities etc. The results generated by the machine are raw and also estimates. Calibration is not applied to the results generated by the FTIR. The customer must use their own calibration and reference tanks to get calibration data and post-correct. Ethernet cable not provided however this is available from Ecotech upon request. Remote software (LogMeIn and Anyplace Control) provided helpful for Ecotech to provided remote customer assistance. However, the customer will need to provide access to the internet. If at a remote site with 3G, they may choose to purchase a CallDirectModem from Ecotech. 1.4 Sample Manifolds for use with Spectronus The standard Spectronus includes 4 inlets, which can each be independently switched through the drier or not. For some customers this is sufficient, as it provides an inlet for sample, an inlet for span, and two more for more samples or other span bottles. The following spare parts and consumables are recommended. Valco Rotary valves Contact Ecotech Most commonly an 8 inlet 1 output ¼ fittings rotary valve allows one of the Spectronus inlets to be connected to one of eight inlet lines. Selection is controlled by RS232, and supported using the standard Spectronus software. This is good for a tower application where the customer already has a pump drawing sample from various heights, and just wishes the Spectronus to sample from the sample already being drawn down to the lab Page 12
Custom built manifolds Contact Ecotech Custom manifolds. A number of customer manifolds based on a common theme are able to be manufactured by Ecotech to customer requirements. In general these will have a separate power supply, and number of valves, and optionally bypass flow controllers, all controlled using RS485 from the Spectronus, and supported in some configurations in the standard Spectronus software. Non-standard configurations may require additional software development. Applications such as Chamber sampling and tower sampling without an existing pump to maintain flow on all lines will require this. Note: For tower applications, customers should use the valco valve with a separate pump and flow control system to maintain flow from the various sample points. Page 13
