General Rules 1. The Indiana Stock Show (ISS) is open to all Indiana residents between the ages of 7-21 as of January 1 of the current show year. Showman cannot be 22 before January 1 of current show year or must reach the age of 7 before December 31 of current show year. If you are attending college out of state, you must have attended high school in Indiana. 2. The Indiana Stock Show Board of Directors, Executive Director, & Livestock Director reserves the final & absolute right to inforce these rules. Exhibitors failing to comply with these rules are subject to cancellations of all premiums & suspension from the current & future Indiana Stock Show events at sole discretion of the Board of Directors, Executive Director & Livestock director. 3. Exhibitors may enter & submit DNA for an unlimited number of animals. However, each exhibitor may only show 4 animals total per specie. Must enter & show at least 1 market animal per species if showing any number of prospects per specie. 4. There will be no date of birth restrictions on any animals. Any and all weight restrictions are outlined in each specie s set of rules below. 5. Generators are welcomed and encouraged but must remain outside of C BAR C Expo Center. 6. Code of Conduct: The Indiana Stock Show Board of Directors, Executive Director & Livestock Director are committed to a safe and respectful show environment and experience that respects the rights of each and every attendee. All exhibitors, parents, and others spectators are expected to exhibit outstanding sportsmanship as well as abide by the standards of the Code of Conduct. 1
The ISS Code of Conduct requires attendees to refrain from the following: *Behavior that is unruly, disruptive or illegal in nature. *Intoxication or other signs of alcohol or substance impairment resulting in poor behavior. *Foul, obscene, threatening, offensive or abusive language, gestures or actions. *Interfering with the progress of the show. *Failing to follow the instructions of show personnel. *Fighting or physical violence of any type. *Conduct that endangers any other person. Violators of the ISS Code of Conduct, as well as their immediate family members, are subject to disciplinary action included but not limited to cancellations of all premiums as well as suspension from current and future ISS events, at the sole discretion of the Executive Director. 7. Breed-specific rules and regulations are outlined in their respective section of the Rule Book. Exhibitors are required to read ALL rules and procedures which pertain to the division they are entering. In the event of conflict of general and special rules, the latter will govern. Exhibitors are required to read these rules and regulations and be prepared to comply with them. Please review health requirements and rules listed on the ISS website. www.indianastockshow.com 8. All market animals must be owned by the exhibitor or immediate family member (sibling living at the same resident). Ownership deadline for all market animals is July 2, 2018. Purebred papers for market cattle & market hogs must state ownership July 2, 2018 or before. Purebred papers must match the names of entries made. (Example: John Smith has no siblings showing so his entries, DNA submissions & purebred papers say John Smith. But Jack & Jill Jones are brother and sister and are entering all their animals together & can decide who shows what when arriving at the ISS. So their entries, DNA submissions & purebred papers say Jack & Jill Jones.) Ownership means in possession of, cared for, the responsibility of. 9. All entries & DNA submission must be post marked by July 2, 2018. We will accept late entries, BUT MUST BE POST MARKED JULY 9, 2018 & entries fees will be doubled! This is the absolute last day entries will be accepted. 10. Official entry identification deadlines are stated above. Those not meeting or adhering to the deadlines will not be eligible to show. Verification of identification will occur at the show. Show management reserves the right to disqualify any animal that they believe to be a different animal than originally identified for the show. 2
11. ALL DNA SUBMISSIONS MUST BE BY INDIVIDUAL ANIMAL. EXHIBITORS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SEND DNA FROM MULTIPLE SPECIES IN THE SAME MAILING OR ENVELOPE. 12. All proper identification must be in place at the time of check-in. (All livestock that fail to meet this requirement forfeit the opportunity to be exhibited at the current year s event). 13. DNA Submission by family is allowed. Family means immediate family member; brother or sister living at the same residence. (See rule 6) 14. Health requirements for exhibition will be set forth by the official ISS veterinarian. 15. Show management reserves the right to randomly DNA and/or drug test any livestock exhibited at the ISS (DNA testing and drug testing may be performed by show management). Any animal found to be in violation will be disqualified. Any animal containing substances at any level not in compliance with Indiana Stock Show standards, United States Food and Drug Administration and/or United States Department of Agriculture Food Safety/safety standards, illegal substances and/or tampered with will be disqualified. An animal treated with any substance that s withdrawal period will not be met at time of exhibition will forfeit the opportunity to be exhibited in any market class at the current year s event. Exceptions will not be made in the instance of a prescription from a licensed veterinarian. Any monies awarded to the individual, including sale proceeds will be forfeited. Owners of the animals selected for the sale will be required to sign a sales agreement, in advance of the sale, in which they agree to adhere to this rule. 16. The Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion from each species will be chosen for a sale along with 3 additional entries from each specie. The number of animals and how they are chosen are outlined in the respective species rules. All animals chosen for the sale must sell. However, this sale is not terminal & all animals will be released to go home with the exhibitor after the sale is done. 10 % of all auction sales will go back to the Indiana Stock show to be put into a scholarship fund & other expenses. 17. This is not a terminal show. 18. Exhibitors must show their own animals. In the event an exhibitor has more than one animal showing at the exact same time a request may be made to show management for a substitute show person. Substitute show person must be another registered exhibitor and participating in the current year Indiana Stock Show. 3
19. Exhibitors chosen for the sale must sell their own animals. If there is a conflict, the exhibitor may seek a waiver from show management. If a waiver is not sought and the animal is sold by someone else, the proceeds will be forfeited to the scholarship fund. 20. An exhibitor can only be chosen for the sale once per species. If an exhibitor has more than one animal in the Grand Drive, then once one of their animals is chosen the other animals owned by that exhibitor will be removed from the ring & the next breed winner in line will fill in that spot. (Example: John Smith has Champion Hamp market lamb & Champion Suffolk Market lamb. His Hamp is selected for Grand Champion Market Lamb so his Champion Suffolk is automatically removed & the Reserve Champion Suffolk moves up to be considered.) 21. Only wood by-products may be used for bedding, (i.e. shavings or bark). NO STRAW except in the designated cattle tie-out area. 22.. All animals must be stalled inside C Bar C Expo Center. NO SHOWING OUT OF TRAILERS. 23. Exhibitors are responsible for weighing their own animals. A time will be designated by each species as to when weigh cards must be turned in. 24. No animals will be permitted in the building or tie-out area of the Indiana Stock Show that are not entered in the show. 25. Any damage, loss or injury caused to the grounds, another exhibitor or their exhibits will be the liability of the person(s) causing the damage. The ISS and associated show management shall in no way be held responsible for the damage or injury caused. 26. All signed entry forms verify exhibitor s consent of use of photos or videos taken by official Indiana Stock Show photographers for use in advertisement and promotion of the event. 27. Showmanship sign up will be conducted at the show. Those wishing to participate in showmanship will have the opportunity to enter at the show. 28. ALL animals must stay until after the Grand Drives are completed on Monday, September 3 rd. 29. Violation or falsification of any of these rules may result in disqualification of the exhibitor and/or all family members from current and future Indiana Stock Shows and/or disciplinary actions as determined by Indiana Stock Show Executive Director. 4
30. You will be assigned pens/stalls upon arrival. You are to remain in assigned pens/stalls. No disassembly of pens. When the permitted time for livestock to arrive has expired then any open pens/stalls are free game. (If you would like to be penned/stalled with anyone you need to arrive at the same time.) PROCEDURE TO FILE A GRIEVANCE Any and all participants in any and all events described in the Indiana Stock Show Foundation, Inc. ( ISS or Indiana Stock Show ) General and Species Specific rules as this Rule Book hereby acknowledge that they are voluntarily agreeing to participate in said event, that the participant has no constitutional or statutory right to participate or compete in these events, that the participant shall abide by and is subject to all rules and procedures applicable to the event entered as stated in this Rule Book, and acknowledge the following as an express condition of their voluntary decision to participate in any and all events covered by this Rule Book: Grievance A. The grievance procedures and remedies set out in this section of the Rule Book are the exclusive procedures and remedies concerning any grievance regarding any action of the ISS arising in any way from participation in any and all events covered by this Rule Book. B. Any and all participants in any and all events covered by this Rule Book hereby acknowledge and expressly agree that the procedures and remedies set out in this Rule Book shall be the exclusive procedures and remedies available to any and all participants concerning any decision or action taken by the ISS on any grievance complaint in any and all events covered by this Rule Book. C. Any and all participants in any and all events covered by this Rule Book expressly acknowledge and expressly agree that they will have the burden of pursuit and the burden of proof concerning the establishment of the grounds for a grievance brought under the provisions of this Rule Book. 1. Any and all participants in any and all events covered by this Rule Book shall have 1 hour from the conclusion of the individual species show to file a grievance brought under the provisions of this Rule Book which involve any issue other than the results of drug testing. 2. Any and all participants in any and all events covered by this Rules Book that are wishing to file a formal grievance against an exhibition of either animals or exhibitor prior to exhibition of that animal(s) or exhibitor(s) in question shall be filed at least 12 hours prior to the scheduled start time of the individual species show. 3. Any and all participants in any and all events covered by this Rule Book shall have 10 days following the receipt of testing results to file any grievances brought under the provisions of this Rule Book involving the results of drug testing. 5
4. The Indiana Stock Show will not consider any grievances based upon the statement that a judge or judges are incompetent. 5. Any and all grievances shall be in writing and shall be filed with Indiana Stock Show Executive Director within the above-referenced time period(s). 6. Any and all grievances filed pursuant to this paragraph shall be accompanied by $500 cash. Money must be submitted to Indiana Stock Show Executive Director along with the grievance form filled out. 7. The Indiana Stock Show Executive Director & the livestock director shall consider any grievances properly filed as soon as possible & their decision will be final. 8. Any participant who is the subject of a grievance has the right to read the written grievance that has been filed against them as well as appear in front of the Grievance committee, which includes the Executive Director, Livestock Director & the superintendent of the species from which a grievance was filled and defend themselves against the grievance. 9. The grievance committee shall only consider grievances filed by a Participant (or parent/legal guardian of participant) entered in the same species as the Participant that is the subject of the grievance. APPEALS OF DISCIPLINARY ACTION 1. Appeals of Disciplinary Action A. Any and all participants in any and all events covered by this Rule Book hereby acknowledge and expressly agree that the procedures and remedies outlined in this Rule Book shall be the exclusive appellate procedures and remedies available to any and all participants in any and all events covered by this Rule Book. B. Any and all participants in any and all events covered by this Rule Book expressly acknowledge and expressly agree that they will have the burden of going forward and the burden of proof concerning the establishment of the grounds for any appeal brought under the provisions of this Rule Book. The appeal procedures are as follows: 1. Any and all participants in any and all events covered by this Rule Book shall have 5 days from the entrance of a decision of the Appeals committee, which consists of the Executive Director, Livestock Director, & a member of the 6
board of directors to file an appeal of said decision concerning any grievances brought under the provisions of this rule book. 2. Any and all appeals of any decision of the Executive Director, Livestock Director, & any and all Board of directors concerning any grievances brought under the provisions of this Rule Book shall be in writing and shall be filed with the Indiana Stock Show Appeals Committee within the abovereferenced time period(s). 3. Any and all appeals of any decision of the Appeals committee any grievances brought under the provisions of this Rule Book shall be accompanied $500 cash. Money must be filed with Appeals Committee contemporaneously with any and all appeals. 4. The Indiana Stock Show Appeals Committee shall consider any and all appeals concerning grievances brought under the provisions of this Rule Book filed pursuant to this paragraph as soon as possible and their decision in the matter shall be final. SHOWMANSHIP Showmanship competitions will be offered in each species. Exhibitors must use their own animal for showmanship. Animals must be eligible for competition in a market class (must show market animals in showmanship). Any rule violation will be grounds for disqualification from showmanship. Showmanship classes will be divided into four divisions by age (Age will be considered as of January 1 of the current show year) Divisions are as follows: Novice: 7-11 years old Junior: 12-14 years old Intermediate: 15-17 years old Senior: 18-21 years old The top ten in each age group will be selected. All 4 age group Champions will then compete for Champion Overall Showman in each species. MARKET CLASSES Market classes and their associated rules will be determined by a committee representing each individual species. Market classes may be shown by breed, weight or a combination thereof. GOAT RULES 1. Exhibitors may show 4 market goats. (A total of 4 goats per exhibitor. Must show at least 1 market goat to show prospect goats.) 7
*Exhibitors may enter & submit DNA for an unlimited number of market goats. 2. Entries may be wethers or does but all will be shown as market goats. 3. All goats must be identified with official USDA Identification. A USDA scrapie tag meets this requirement. 4. Market Goats must be owned, in possession, and DNA submitted by July 2, 2018. The animals must remain in the exhibitor s possession from set date forward. To submit DNA, you must complete the following: a. Complete form with official USDA tag number. b. Pull a minimum of 25-30 hairs with root follicles attached. We recommend from the tail, & place sealed white mailing envelope. *Must write on the outside of the envelope: Exhibitor name(s) (must match entry form), address, USDA Tag #, & phone number. c. A check made out to The Indiana Stock Show Foundation, Inc. must be enclosed with all entry forms & DNA submissions or entry is void. d. Use a separate envelope for each animal! e. Mail: entry form, DNA envelope of hair with all info correctly written on the outside for each animal, and fees in an 8 ½ x 11 envelope to: Indiana Stock Show-Goats PO Box 11 Kirklin, IN 46050 5. All goats must proceed through check-in activities. 6. Goats with visible signs of prolapse, fungus, sore mouth or a contagious/infectious disease, as diagnosed by the ISS licensed veterinarian, will not be allowed to exhibit and must be removed from the facility immediately. 7. Animals with testicles, portions of testicles or yearling teeth will be disqualified 8. Horns are optional. 9. Goat exhibitors are allowed to use approved goat products for fitting practices. 10. Goat exhibitors are allowed to use approved goat drenching equipment to drench their animals. 11. Goats must arrive clipped & show ready. Clippers, blowers & stands will be allowed in the barns. 12. No personal scales are allowed. 13. Weighing procedure will be as follows: a. There will be no official weigh in b. Market animals will be shown by declared weight c. Declared weight must be turned in to show management by designated time d. Once weight cards are turned in there will be no changing of weight e. There is a minimum 61 pound weight limit to be eligible as a market goat. (60 pounds & under will be shown as a prospect) There is no maximum weight limit. f. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place animal in each class will be reweighed immediately following the class. 8
g. Animals will be allowed a 5 pound variance from declared weight h. After a goat has been weighed in class it will not be weighed again. i. Note: Should an animal weigh outside the guidelines set forth, the animal will be removed from scale, scale will be balanced and the animal will be immediately re-weighed. There is a maximum allowance of two times across the scale immediately following the class. This weight will be the official and final weight. Once out of class animals will not be required to weigh again. 14. Market Goat classes will be broken in Light weight, Medium weight & Heavy weight divisions. All class brakes will be determined & final by the Goat committee, Executive Director & Livestock director. Top 3 in each weight division will be picked & be in contention for top 5 honors. 15. The Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion, 3 rd, 4 th, & 5 th overall market goats will be selected for the Sale of Champions MARKET CATTLE RULES 1. Exhibitors may show 4 market calves. (A total of 4 calves per exhibitor. Must show at least 1 market calf to show prospect calves.) *Exhibitors may enter & submit DNA for an unlimited number of market calves. 2. Entries may be heifers or steers but all will be shown as market cattle. 3. All calves must be identified with official 15 Digit RFID tag. 4. Market Beef animals must be owned, in possession, and DNA submitted by July 2, 2018. 5. The animals must remain in the exhibitor s possession from set date forward. To submit DNA, you must complete the following: a. Complete form with 15 digit RFID numbers for all animals b. Pull a minimum of 25-30 hairs with root follicles attached. We recommend from the tail switch, and place sealed white mailing envelope. *Must write on the outside of the envelope: Exhibitor name(s) (must match entry form), address, USDA Tag #, & phone number. c. A check made out to The Indiana Stock Show Foundation, Inc. must be enclosed with all entry forms & DNA submissions or entry is void. d. Use a separate envelope for each animal! e. Mail: entry form, DNA envelope of hair with all info correctly written on the outside for each animal, and fees in an 8 ½ x 11 envelope to: Indiana Stock Show-Cattle PO Box 11 Kirklin, IN 46050 6. Animals showing in the breed classes must have registration papers in the exhibitor s name or exhibitor & immediate family member by no later than July 2, 2018. 9
7. All cattle must proceed through check-in activities. 8. Animals with testicles or portions of testicles will be disqualified and all monies forfeited 9. No more than one fan per 2 head. No fans allowed in the show arena/holding area. 10. Cattle are allowed to be in designated tie-outs from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m.; all other times the cattle must remain in C BAR C Expo Center including on show day. 11. There will be a minimum weight of 1,001 pounds with no upper weight limit. Calves weighing 1,000 and under will be shown as prospect calves. 12. Weighing procedure will be as follows: a. There will be no official weigh in b. Market animals will be shown by declared weight c. Declared weight must be turned in to show management by designated time d. Once weight cards are turned in there will be no changing of weight e. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place animals in each class will be re-weighed immediately following the class. f. A 5% variance will be allowed from declared weight g. Animals exceeding the 5% variance will be disqualified from show and all other animals will move up one place. h. After a calf has been weighed in class it will not be weighed again. i.note: Should an animal weigh outside the guidelines set forth, the animal will be removed from scale, scale will be balanced and the animal will be immediately re-weighed. There is a maximum allowance of two times across the scale immediately following the class. This weight will be the official and final weight. There is a maximum allowance of two times across the scale if the 5% variance is not met. 13. Cattle breeds offered: Limousin, Charolais, Hereford, Angus, Simmental, Shorthorn, Maine Anjou, Chianina, & Crossbred. All others will show in the AOB class. 14. Each breed will select a Champion, Reserve and Third Overall. 15. Classes will be broken on breed & weight. All class brakes will be determined & final by the cattle committee, Executive Director & Livestock Director. 16. Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion, 3 rd Overall, 4 th overall & 5 th Overall Market Cattle will be selected for the Sale of Champions. MARKET LAMB RULES 1. Exhibitors may show 4 market lambs. (A total of 4 lambs per exhibitor. Must show at least 1 market lamb to show prospect lambs.) *Exhibitors may enter & submit DNA for an unlimited number of market lambs. 2. Entries may be wethers or ewes but will show as market lambs. 3. All lambs must be identified with official USDA Identification. A USDA scrapie tag meets this requirement 4. Market Lambs must be owned, in possession, and DNA submitted by July 2, 2018. The animals must remain in the exhibitor s possession from set date forward. To submit DNA, you must complete the following: 10
a. Complete form with official USDA tag number. b. Pull a minimum of 25-30 hairs with root follicles attached. We recommend from between the toes, and place in a white mailing envelope. Must write on the outside of the envelope: Exhibitor name(s) (must match entry form), address, USDA Tag #, & phone number. c. A check made out to The Indiana Stock Show Foundation, Inc. must be enclosed with all entry forms & DNA submissions or entry is void. d. Use a separate envelope for each animal! e. Mail: entry form, DNA envelope of hair with all info correctly written on the outside for each animal, and fees in an 8 ½ x 11 envelope to: Indiana Stock Show-Lambs PO Box 11 Kirklin, IN 46050 5. All lambs must proceed through check-in activities that will include health check, USDA ear tag check and breed classification 6. Lambs with visible signs of prolapse, fungus, sore mouth or a contagious/infectious disease, as diagnosed by the Indiana Stock Show licensed veterinarian, will not be allowed to exhibit and must be removed from the facility immediately. 7. Lambs with testicles or yearling teeth will be disqualified and all monies forfeited. 8. Sheep exhibitors are allowed to use approved sheep drenching equipment to drench their animals. 9. No personal scales are allowed. 10. Lambs must arrived sheared & show ready. Clippers, stands & blowers are allowed in the barn. 11. Lambs will be reviewed for breed classification by an official at check-in. The decision of the breed classifier will be final. 12. Lamb breeds offered: Hamp, Dorset, Hair sheep, Natural Colored, Southdown, Suffolk, White Face cross, & Black face cross. Any other breeds will be shown together in an AOB class. 13. Lambs will be shown in classes by breed & declared weight. There will be a Champion, Reserve & 3 rd overall selected in each breed. 14. Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion, 3 rd overall, 4 th overall & 5 th overall will be selected for the sale of Champions. 15. There will be a minimum show weight limit of 116 pounds with no upper weight limit. Lambs weighing 115 lbs. & under will be shown as prospect lambs. 16. Weighing procedure will be as follows: a. There will be no official weigh in b. Market animals will be shown by declared weight c. Declared weight must be turned in to show management by designated time d. Once weight cards are turned in there will be no changing of weight e. The top 3 animals in each class will be re-weighed following each class f. A 7 pound variance above the declared weight will be allowed 11
g. Animals exceeding the 7 pound variance will be disqualified from show and all other animals will move up one place. h. After a lamb has been weighed in class it will not be weighed again. i. Note: Should an animal weigh outside the guidelines set forth, the animal will be removed from scale, scale will be balanced and the animal will be immediately reweighed. There is a maximum allowance of two times across the scale immediately following the class. This weight will be the official and final weight. SWINE RULES 1. Exhibitors may show 4 market hogs. (A total of 4 hogs per exhibitor. Must show at least 1 market hog to show prospect hogs.) *Exhibitors may enter & submit DNA for an unlimited number of market hogs. 2. Entries may be barrows or gilts but will be shown as market hogs. 3. All hogs will be paint branded by ISS swine committee members at a designated time. 4. Swine must be owned, in possession, and DNA submitted by July 2, 2018. The animals must remain in the exhibitor s possession from set date forward. To submit DNA, you must complete the following: a. Complete form with ear notch numbers. Notches should be uniform, healed, and match the ones sent in on the DNA Submission and entry form. Any questionable notches will not be allowed to show. b. Pull a minimum of 25-30 hairs with root follicles attached. We recommend from the tail or between the ears, and place in a white mailing envelope labeled with the pig ear notch, breed, exhibitor or exhibitor & immediate family member name (must match entry form & registration papers) address & phone number. c. Use a separate envelope for each animal! d. Mail: entry form, DNA envelope of hair with all info correctly written on the outside for each animal, and fees in an 8 ½ x 11 envelope to: Indiana Stock Show-Swine PO Box 11 Kirklin, IN 46050 5. Weight limit: 216lbs to 305lbs. Hogs weighing 215 & under will be shown as prospect hogs. 6. No exhibitor scales are allowed. 7. No disassembly of pens. 8. Swine with testicles or portions of testicles will be disqualified and all monies forfeited. 9. Purebred hogs must present pedigrees in the name(s) of the exhibitor(s) as the owner at date of DNA submission. Farm names will not be allowed. i.e. John Doe and Family is not allowed, the animal must be in the youth s name. 12
10. Breed validation and ear notch matching will take place at time of check in. Exhibitors must bring their purebred entries and pedigrees to the specified check in and have them checked by show management. 11. All Market Hogs will be shown by breed & declared weight. Breeds offered: Berk, Chester White, Poland, Spot, Herford, Tamworth, York, Duroc, Hamp, Landrace & Crossbred (Must have 5 to make a breed or will be shown in AOB class) 12. Weighing procedure will be as follows: a. There will be no official weigh in b. Market animals will be shown by declared weight c. Declared weight must be turn in to show management by designated time d. Once weight cards are turned in there will be no changing of weight e. A minimum of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place animals in each class will be re-weighed immediately following the class f. A 15 pound variance (plus or minus) will be allowed from declared weight g. Animals exceeding the 15 pound variance will be disqualified from show and all other animals will move up one place. h. After a pig has been weighed in class it will not be weighed again. i. Note: Should an animal weigh outside the guidelines set forth, the animal will be removed from scale, scale will be balanced and the animal will be immediately re-weighed. There is a maximum allowance of two times across the scale during or immediately following class. This weight will be the official and final weight. 13. Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion, 3 rd overall, 4 th overall & 5 th overall will be selected for the Sale of Champions. Drug Testing 1. Top 5 animals in each specie will immediately be taken to the designated drug testing area for a urine sample once the grand drive for that specie has ended. As soon as ISS official veterinarian has gotten everything they need from the exhibitor & their animal then they are released. 2. We will release a list of approved drugs & their withdrawal times for each specie. All substances not listed on the ISS Approved drug list are subject to be tested for. 3. If any substance found in the urine sample is not on the ISS Approved drug list, then the individual exhibitor will be subject to the following penalties: a. Disqualified from exhibiting at the Indiana Stock Show for one year. b. Ineligible for any & all scholarships given by the Indiana Stock Show. c. PROSPECT DIVISION Goats 1. Prospect goats will be all goats weighing 60 lbs. & under. 2. Wethers & does show together. 3. Classes will be broken by weight. No divisions. 4. A Grand Champion Prospect & Reserve Grand Champion prospect goat will be selected. (Will not show against market goats for Top 5 contention.) 5. Entries MUST BE post marked by August 15 th, 2018. No entries accepted at the Indiana Stock Show. We will accept entries post marked by August 22, 2018 but fees are doubled and THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE LAST DAY entries will be accepted! 6. Prospect goats must arrive clipped & show ready. 7. Prospect goats will go thru the same check in & weigh in process as market goats. a. Top 2 goats in class will reweigh. b. Declared weight with 5 pound variance from declared weight. Cattle 1. Prospect cattle will be all cattle weighing 1,000 lbs. & under. 2. Steers & heifers show together. 3. Classes will be broken on weight & breed. (No purebred papers will be required.) 4. A Grand Champion Prospect & Reserve Grand Champion Prospect calf will be selected. Classes will be broken on weight & breed. (No purebred papers will be required.) 4. A Grand Champion Prospect & Reserve Grand Champion Prospect Hog will be selected. (Will not show against market hogs for Top 5 contention.) 5. Entries MUST BE post marked by August 15 th, 2018. No entries accepted at the Indiana Stock Show. All prospect hogs will be paint branded by ISS swine committee members at a designated time. Rules for all prospect animal exhibitors 1. Each exhibitor may enter no more than 3 prospect animals per specie. And must have entered at least 1 market animal in each specie that a prospect entry or entries are made. 2. Fill out entry form for PROSPECT animal & mail with a check made out to Indiana Stock Show Foundation, Inc. Post marked by August 15 th, 2018. Late entries accepted post marked by August 22, 2018 but fees are doubled. Entries sent after those dates or without payment will not be accepted. 3. There will be a breed sift since there will not be registration papers required. Show committee, Executive Director & livestock director decisions are final. 4. The same breeds will be offered for cattle, lambs & hogs as the market show. 15
