I want to extend a warm welcome home to all of our returning friends as well as the new ones who have chosen the Arizonian for their fall/ winter home. I hope our regulars will join me in making sure this will not be their only season here. Our first Activities Meeting is on Monday, Nov. 6th at 8:30am. Complementary coffee and donuts will be available for those who attend - no take outs. These meetings are to discuss our activities only. Any management issues should be addressed to the manager. A question and answer period will follow the Activities Meeting. Pages 2 & 3 of this newsletter contains a list of weekly activities and special events. Check the big calendar in the north hall for any additions or changes as this newsletter will not be revised until next month. As more people arrive we may add and/or reschedule activities and events. Please report any corrections or changes to the Activities Office. Do not write or stick post m notes on the calendar. Make sure that you fill out the November 2017 Volume 15, Issue 1 Page 1 Happy Thanksgiving Directory Information form on page 5. If you want to be listed, you must return the completed form to the activity office, even if you were listed in last years directory. Please follow the instructions on the form. Please turn them in as soon as you can. Norma Bogard, Space 294, is working on a Residents Photo Directory to be included in our regular directory. See her for more information. Please wear your name badges; if you do not have one you can purchase them in the Activity Office. We have many new residents, so everyone needs to have and wear a name badge. Please do not wait until the last minute to sign up to purchase tickets. On most occasions we need to purchase supplies several days in advance so we need a correct count. There is a Costco Card available to the residents. Please check it out at the Activity Office and return it to the Activity Office as soon as possible. We are selling Coyote Coupon Books again this year. They are $20 dollars and there is a lot of valuable coupons in them and Activities receives $4.00 for each book we sell. The coming events board will be completed soon and located on the south porch of the North Hall. Forrest Erickson begins his Little Church in the Dessert services at 9:00am on Nov. 5th. We will start our new season with two very special celebrations, Veterans Day on the 11th and Thanksgiving dinner on the 23th. For Veteran s Day we will have stew in a bread bowl and salad lunch at 1:00pm. Sign up and pay $5.00. There will be no charge for veterans. For Thanksgiving, the turkeys will be provided by the park and the remainder will be potluck. Sign up for the dinner and what dish you which to bring. Dinner will begin at 1:00pm. If you have any questions or concerns about the activities, please feel free to stop in my office to discuss them, or just stop in to visit. My office hours are Monday through Friday from 8am until 12pm beginning Nov. 6th. You may also reach me on my cell phone, 602-432-8307 or email me at k.a.house@gmail.com. Our Newsletters are available online at our website, www.arizonianresort.com to view or download. Click on the Activities Menu box. We all owe a special thanks to Marilyn Douglas for taking care of the summer activities. She has done a fantastic job. All activities are in the Main Hall except as noted on the big calendar in the North Hall. Volunteers are not paid -- not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless. POP, WATER, ICE & COFFEE Soda pop and bottled water are available in the refrigerator for 50 each and ice for $1.75 per bag is available in the freezer inside the north hall. Place the money in the box on the west wall inside the north hall. DONATE YOUR PENNIES There is a bucket in the north hall for collecting your spare pennies. At the end of the season Emma will roll the pennies and we will donate them to the Apache Junction Food Bank. Last season we collected $57.50. MEALS Unless you are advised differently always bring your own table service and glasses/cups to meals and ice cream Socials. VOLUNTEERS Volunteers are always needed and welcome. It s an excellent way to meet new people get first-hand involvement with the activities. If you wish to volunteer come to the activity office and we will find something for you to do. The Arizonian Newsletter is published monthly by the Activity Office, Karen House, Activity Director (520) 463-2423 or (602) 432-8307, Fax: (520) 463-2423, Email: K.A.House@gmail.com www.arizonianresort.com/activities.html
