PR009/2010 Ngong Ping Charity Fun Day A green celebration of Children s Day (Hong Kong, 4 April 2010) One hundred and fifty children celebrated Children s Day 2010 with Miss Hong Kong and Wai Yin members enjoyed a free ride on Ngong Ping 360 today to raise awareness about importance of environmental protection. Ngong Ping 360 joined hands with Wai Yin Association to organize the Ngong Ping Charity Fun Day for more than 200 guests including 150 children from the Family Multiple Intelligence Centres of Pok Oi Hospital, renowned members of Wai Yin Association including the Association s Chairman of Board of Trustee Miss Ellen Wong, President Miss Mok Ho Yan and member Miss Monica Chan, together with 2009 Miss Hong Kong Miss Sandy Lau, Miss Germaine Li, Miss Mizuni Hung, and volunteers from Ngong Ping 360. There is no better place to experience the wonders and beauty of nature than on Ngong Ping 360, and it reminds us of our responsibility to protect the environment for our children and grandchildren, said Ngong Ping 360 Managing Director Mr Y T Li. We are pleased to work with the community and make a meaningful contribution towards safeguarding our natural environment for the enjoyment of future generations. Ms Mok Ho Yan, 09/10 President of Wai Yin Association said raising awareness of the importance of environmental protection is one of the key goals of Wai Yin Association in 2010. Everybody has a stake in protecting the environment. We all live in it, and we all share it with each other, she said. We are happy to join with Ngong Ping 360 to organize such a meaningful outdoor activity amid the lush beauty of Lantau Island. The children, 2009 Miss Hong Kong, members of Wai Yin Association and volunteers from the Family Multiple Intelligence Centres of Pok Oi Hospital and Ngong Ping 360 participated in the green wishes design competition, which was a highlight of the event. The groups of children expressed their wish for a green world with recycled materials on cable car-shaped drawing cards. 1/5
Apart from the exciting and fun-filled game, the children and guests also toured Ngong Ping Village and visited the multi-media Monkey s Tale Theatre and Walking with Buddha, creating wonderful memories of Children s Day. - End - 2/5
