Exhibitor or a member of his or her immediate family must be a member of the Canadian Hackney Society.

To be judged on manners, quality, and performance of the animal and the driver s ability; 50% for the driver s ability, and 50% for the suitability of animal. 1. Showmanship competition open to Junior exhibitors who have reached their 8 th year, and have not reached 18 years of age as of January 1 st of the current year. Exhibitor or a member of his immediate family must be a member of the Canadian Hackney Society. Hackney mares or geldings are to be used and shown in hand. 2. Canadian Hackney Society Junior showmanship. To be judged 50% on children s attire, 40% on conformation, manners, and performance and 10% on neatness and cleanliness of harness and vehicle. 4. Child s fancy turnout. SECTION 10.3 SPORTPONY JUDGING: 10:30 a.m. as per the time table in the North Wentworth Showring. To run in conjunction with the light horse show. Classes will alternate with the light horse classes. Rules and Regulations: This division is open to any pony meeting the Sportpony criteria. IE: Hunter, Jumper, Driving, Eventing etc. The first place in each of the six (6) in hand classes at the qualifying shows are eligible to enter to qualify for the Sportpony Starsearch Challenge cup, held at the Royal Winter Fair in November 2017. Both under saddle classes also qualify for each respective class. Ponies must measure 14.2 hands or under. Passport and registration are not necessary to participate. General EC rules for sporthorses will apply. Adults can ride a pony.

Stallions may not be handled or ridden by children at the Royal Winter Fair, but may be allowed at the qualifying show s discretion. If the first place pony has already qualified at a previous show in 2016, then the second place pony becomes the qualifier. Once qualified, a pony may still show at any of the qualifying shows. Additional Prize: At the Royal the Sportpony Star Search winner will be awarded the perpetual Morton Sportpony Challenge Cup, a silver keeper plate.
