A lot of organising went on behind the scenes in an effort to get our kids a game of footy last Sunday. Unfortunately mother nature reigned supreme. The weather is looking more promising for this weekend (fingers crossed the boys will get on the field). This Sunday is a Back to the Club day, I look forward to seeing you all at the games and the Toongabbie Sports Bowling Club afterwards from 2pm. We will be arranging games for the kids. The Toongabbie Sports & Bowling club is our major sponsor and we need to support the club that supports us. Please don t forget to check in with the receptionist on arrival to ensure that your membership card is linked to our Club. Finally, it s a big week for the NRL this week as we celebrate the Women in League round. It s a time when we pay special tribute to our mums, step mums, sisters, grandmas, aunts and daughters who support our kids in playing the game they love. For getting our team strip washed and ready for game day, for driving us to training and weekend matches, for ensuring we eat well and behave ourselves on and off the field, for working in the canteen to support our club, for being our team managers and our referees, for getting involved in the committee, for teaching us to be good sports, for nursing our little battered bodies and emotions when we are sad or hurt, for shouting out encouragement from the sidelines and jumping up and down when we do something awesome, for all the proud hugs you give us, for doing all of this - week in, week out... For all the wonderful Women in our League we say thank you. Mathew Douglas President "The reason women don't play football is because 11 of them would never wear the same outfit in public.
