FTT bought a bale of hay to help out the farmers Thanks, and see you soon It s been a busy year for Ben. The training was full on in preparation for the Commonwealth Games. But then just before the games, Ben managed to break his back while having a fit. Did that stop Ben from competing? NO!!! Ben completed three clean lifts to finish the games in style, lifting 172kg. A little short of what Ben would have liked to lift. But he had a broken back!!!! Great job Ben Since then Ben has already had another competition in Japan and his next goal is to qualify for 2020 Olympics in Japan. Ben Wright Powerlifter Lifted at the Commonwealth Games Jake Howe Rugby Played in the Aussie Steelers and represented Australia at the World Champs It has been a busy year for Jake too. He has been competing all over the world with the Aussie Steelers in preparation for the World Championships in Sydney. The Steelers made it to the Gold Medal match only to be beaten by Japan 61 to 62. A very close game with the ball in Australia s hands in the last few seconds of the match. Huge congratulations on the silver medal and we look forward to watching Jake on the world stage for many years to come.
1 st Glynis Cole 136 2 nd Joe Douglas 135 Peter Yeates 135 Tony Favazzo 135 Glynis was busy in the kitchen whipping up dinner and busy whipping everyone at tipping too!!! Better luck next year. Boys! The next round we are taking the piss out of. This was a huge night with over 100 people attending our best venue yet. There was plenty of entertainment, laughs, amazing prizes, plenty of drinks and a round by round summary of the year that was. The food was exceptional with Glynis and her team cooking up a storm. We also heard from Ben and Jake on their challenges and triumphs during the year. Tipping wise, there were plenty of surprises on the leader board as upsets occurred on the field throughout the year. Rod Rod McQuade!!! Was that too harsh? On Carlton??? YES!! Big crowd, plenty of laughs and everyone ready to join the competition again in 2019 Thanks everyone for supporting FTT
