RULES AND CONDITIONS: 1. This show is affiliated to the National Pony Society, TSR (All affiliated classes will be judged under the rules of these societies). 2. The Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry. 3. No Entry will be accepted without the appropriate fee. 4. Nomination entries will not be accepted. 5. Every effect has been made to avoid clashing of classes, but sometimes this is unavoidable. Under NO circumstances will classes be held up for any reason. 6. Pre Entry money can only be refunded when the committee is presented with a Vet s Certificate before the date of the show. 7. The decision of the Judge is absolute and final. 8. No unauthorized person will be allowed in any ring. 9. Hard Hats (according to the standard described by the society to which the class is affiliated) must be worn by all mounted riders AT ALL TIMES! These fitted with chin straps must be fastened. 10. The Committee does not accept liability for any accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, ponies, riders, handlers, spectators or any other persons or property whatsoever. 11. Anyone wishing to raise an objection must deposit 25 with the Secretary within one half hour of the end of the class in question. This deposit will be forfeited if the objection is overruled. 12. All cups to be collected from the Secretary, signed for and deposits paid. 13. No Whips to exceed 75cm. 14. Broodmares must be 4 years old and over. Foals must be at least 4 weeks old on the day of the show. All stallions and colts, 2 years old and over, must hold a current Stallion Licence, unless governed by the individual Breed Society. Handlers of stallions and colts must have attained their 14 th birthdays. Riders of Small Breed Stallions must have attained their 12 th birthday and riders of Large Breed stallions must have attained their 14 th birthdays all before 1 st January in the current year. 15. Health and Safety: This show is run with due regard to Health and Safety. The person responsible on the day will be Mr Ross Keys. We request that all exhibitors and members of the public comply with requests, written or verbal, from Show Officials which pertain to these regulations in their own best interests. Detailed guide lines can be seen in the Secretary s office on request. Any accidents should be reported to a show official immediately. Regulations regarding the riding of horses and ponies, motorized vehicles and bicycles will be strictly enforced in the interests of all concerned 16. THIRD PARTY INSURANCE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 2

NPS Qualifying Rounds: NPS Summer Championship Qualifying Round Rules These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible for Mountain & Moorland Classes. To compete in Show Pony and Show Hunter Pony classes ponies must be registered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB, the GSB, the AHSB, the AASB or in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part- Breds are not eligible unless entered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB. Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and nonmembers but only ponies owned by adult NPS Qualifying or Life members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition at the NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern from 31 st July -2 nd August 2018. Exception RIHS Workers and NPS Summer Qualifiers where 2018 Qualifying /Life membership is required. The Silver medals can also only be handed out to current members with a membership card. The highest placed pony, if owned by an NPS member, in each class will qualify for the final. Qualification may pass down to third place if the first and second ponies are already qualified. NPS/Rosettes Direct Home Produced Ridden Championship - Riders of Home Produced ponies (see definition in the NPS Rules Book) can wear a white arm band in classes where this is indicated. These ponies, if owned by NPS members, are then eligible to qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show. The Owner s Membership cards MUST be produced in the ring when requested or the qualification will be forfeit. Stallion Discs All In Hand Stallions MUST display a bridle disc when showing in NPS classes. As with ridden stallions, for which it remains compulsory, these may be from any UK society as long as they are easily identified or an NPS Stallion Disc. PRIZE MONEY: RIHS classes: 1st 30, 2nd 15, 3rd 10 If LESS than 4 competitors in a class, then only the 1st prize money will be awarded, If 6 competitors in a class 1 st and 2 nd prize money will be awarded. PLEASE NOTE: ALL PRIZE MONEY MUST BE COLLECTED ON THE DAY AND WILL NOT BE FORWARDED AFTER THE SHOW. 3

Equifest This Show is affiliated to Equifest, taking place at the East of England Showground on the 8 th - 12 th August 2018. The two highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify. **************************************** The Showing Register TSR Riders & In Hand Championships - This show is a qualifier for the 2018 TSR Riders/In Hand Regional Championships. Qualify and enter ANY of the Regional Finals Central, East Anglia, North West, North East, South East, South, Wales & South West or Scottish. You Do Not have to be a TSR member to qualify or enter a final. The Rider/Handler qualifies and can enter any horse/pony in any number of Finals! TSR Riders Champs - 1st & 2nd riders qualify and will receive a qualification card in the ring. TSR In Hand Champs - The two highest placed Handlers with a TSR In Hand Card will qualify in any In Hand class. Handlers MUST have their cards signed in the ring by the judge/steward, cards are available FREE from the TSR website. Owner s membership cards must be shown in the ring to receive qualifications. Foals are not eligible. To follow in Ring One: Judge: Mrs J James The NPS/SARACEN HORSE FEEDS M&M Home Produced In Hand National Championship These classes are open to pure bred registered M&M ponies which are either stabled at home or in a DIY yard and which since 1 st January in the current year have not been shown by a producer or stabled in a producer s yard other than on a DIY basis or at stud. To be owned/kept, produced, ridden/handled by a person who does not derive their main income from working with horses/ponies. No professional producers are allowed into the ring to groom/strip the horse/pony. Please see NPS 2018 Rule Book, Sec A, 3.6. Please enter this class in the spirit it is intended. Competitors who contravene the above will be disqualified. NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded when the owner of the champion pony is a Qualifying or Life member of the NPS. A valid membership card must be in the rider s/handler s possession on entering the ring and be produced immediately on request by either the judge or the steward. If the owner of the Champion pony is not a member, or the owner s membership card is not immediately produced, the rosette may be awarded to the Reserve Champion provided they have the required membership card. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the qualification card goes to the Reserve Champion pony, provided the owner of that pony is a member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the qualification card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve (third). Foals are not eligible for Silver Medal Championships. Membership cards must be presented in the ring 6

Class 16 Class 17 Yearling, 2 or 3 year old Colt, Filly or Gelding any height 4 years old or over Stallion, Mare or Gelding any height The NPS/THE GRAHAMS Show Hunter Pony In Hand National Championship The highest placed pony, if owned by an NPS member, in each class will qualify for the final. Qualification may pass down to third place if the first and second ponies are already qualified. Class 18 Class 19 Yearling, 2 or 3 year old Colt, Filly or Gelding any height 4 years old or over Stallion, Mare or Gelding any height Judge: Mrs J James The NPS Show Pony Home Produced In Hand National Championship Open to registered Show Ponies not to exceed 148cm at maturity, which are either stabled at home or in a DIY yard and which since 1 st January in the current year have not been shown by a producer or stabled in a producer s yard other than on a DIY basis or at stud. Ponies shown in these classes must be produced and shown by the owner/spouse, or his/her Immediate family, who does not derive income from working with ponies or horses. Please see NPS 2018 Rule Book, Sec A, 3.6. Please enter this class in the spirit it is intended. Competitors who contravene the above will be disqualified Class 20 Class 21 Yearling, 2 or 3 year old Colt, Filly or Gelding, not to exceed 148cm at maturity. 4 years old or over Stallion, Mare or Gelding, not exceeding 148cm 7

NPS / OTTERGAYLE Hack & Riding Horse In Hand Supreme Championship The owner does not have to be an NPS member to enter the competition, to qualify or to enter the Final. The first placed horse in each class will qualify for the final at NPS Summer Championship show. Qualification may go no lower than third place. Foals are excluded from qualifying. Class 22 Class 23 Riding Horses / Hacks four years old and over, Stallions, Mares and Geldings Riding Horses / Hacks three years old and under, Colts, Fillies and Geldings To Follow in Ring One CHAMPIONSHIP C 1st and 2nd prize winners from classes 16-23. Champion and Reserve go forward to Supreme In hand Championship SUPREME INHAND CHAMPIONSHIP Champion and Reserve from Championships A-C Supreme Champion to be awarded the Chapelfield Perpetual Cup Judge: Mrs J James NPS/ AREA XI British Isles Area In Hand Championship 1 st and 2 nd prize winners from classes 1-23 The winning pony from each of the NPS in hand classes held at the show is eligible to go forward to this championship. There are no specific registration criteria for ponies. The owner need not be an NPS member for the pony/horse to enter this competition or to qualify for the final but will have to become a Qualifying member to enter the final. The Supreme Champion and Reserve Supreme Champion ponies at each NPS Area show qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship show. If the Supreme and/or Reserve Supreme have already qualified then the qualification may go to the third place, but no lower. 8

The pony never to have won a first prize of 5 or more in any SP/SHP Leading rein classes before 1st January in the current year. Ponies must not be cantered except in their individual show. Ponies will not be stripped. Ponies may not be ridden side saddle. Ponies must be shown in a snaffle bit. This is a standalone competition with no final. The NPS Show Pony/Show Hunter Pony Leading Rein National Championship & EQUIFEST/ DAVEY S LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT SHOW PONY LEAD REIN & EQUIFEST/ ASHFORD STABLES SHOW HUNTER PONY LEAD REIN Open to registered mares and geldings 4 years old and over, not exceeding 122 cm. Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday but must not have attained their 8th birthday before the 1st January in the current year. Ponies must be shown in a snaffle bit. NPS/Rosettes Direct Home Produced Ridden Championship Qualifier wear white arm bands. Class 28 Class 29 NPS/LP PALLET EQUESTRIAN SANDS Show Pony/Show Hunter Pony Novice Ridden Championship Pony not to have qualified for RIHS or HOYS. Pony not to won 10 or more in any Affiliated Ridden Show Pony/Show Hunter Pony Class (excluding Leading Rein or First Ridden) before 1 st January in the current year. All ponies in this class must be shown in a snaffle bit. The highest placed pony from each height group will qualify. Riders may be any age. Rider to be suitable size for pony. Riders must be 12 years old or over when riding stallions not exceeding 128cm and 14 years old or over when riding stallions exceeding 128cms. NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded when the owner of the champion pony is a Qualifying or Life member of the NPS. A valid membership card must be in the rider s/handler s possession on entering the ring and be produced immediately on request by either the judge or the steward. If the owner of the Champion pony is not a member, or the owner s membership card is not immediately produced, the rosette may be awarded to the Reserve Champion provided they have the required membership card. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the qualification card goes to the Reserve Champion pony, provided the owner of that pony is a member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the qualification card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve (third). Foals are not eligible for Silver Medal Championships. The Supreme Champion and Reserve Supreme Champion ponies at each NPS Area show qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship show. If the Supreme and/or Reserve Supreme have already qualified then the qualification may go to the third place, but no lower. 17
