HELENSVALE NETBALL CLUB CELEBRATING 25 YEARS!!!!!!!!! [Edition 1, Volume 1] PRESIDENTS REPORT HAPPY NEW YEAR and welcome to the 2015 Season. It has been an exciting start to the year and is a very busy time for most of us. Last Saturday we held our 2 nd annual Nova Coaching Clinic with 44 girls in total turn out. This was great to see how many girls are interested in learning more about netball and developing their skills. Just wanted to say a huge thank you to our coaches for the clinic this year; Jo Heslop, Terina Pirihi, Nicole Stewart and Carla Cummings. It was great to have such highly qualified coaches be involved and I am sure all the girls learnt a lot. Unfortunately it was an extremely hot day with the temps reaching 40 but all the girls did well. We have had an unbelievable start to our registrations for the 2015 season with 90% of the registrations coming through being new to the club. I highly recommend that you get your forms in now or on our sign on day to guarantee your spot for the 2015 season. The fees for next year have been set at $220 per player U8-Opens and $170 per player U5-7 years. The increase is due to an increase in Netball QLD and NGCNA fees and we have also decided to include the photo money in the fees this year. Reason for this change is that every player takes the photo option but can be a bit of a nightmare for the team managers to chase money etc. This way the club will cover the cost of the photos and pay the photographer direct. Our next sign on will be Saturday 31 st January 2015 however you can send in your forms anytime between now and then. We look forward to seeing all our current members return and welcome our new members for another great year ahead at Helensvale Netball Club. CELEBRATING 25 YEARS COACHING COURSES NEW UNIFORMS This season Helensvale Netball Club will be celebrating 25 years as a club on the Gold Coast. The club has a great history and we feel that it should be celebrated. We will be looking at holding some exciting events next year and would like to ask if any members are keen to help us out in the organization of these events please contact me. Any help is appreciated. The committee is also looking at revamping the club with a new logo and possibly a mascot. We will be looking for member help with this and possibly running a competition. So if you have some great ideas for a mascot or name e.g. Helensvale Defenders let us know. Look out for more information in the New Year. NOVA HOLIDAY CLINIC We held our 2 nd Nova coaching clinic last Saturday and had 44 girls aged between 5-11 years attend. During the clinic the girls focused on ball work, footwork and balancing. We also played some games which I think the girls enjoyed the most. We were very lucky to have some great coaches help out on the day and their knowledge was extremely valuable to the girls. The heat was a bit of a killer but the girls all shouldered on. I have attached some photo below. 2015 SPONSORSHIP In 2015 we have some exciting new sponsorship packages available. These packages include: Play for Free, Team Sponsorships, Rep Players Sponsorships plus much more. These sponsorship packages not only help the club and the business but also the players. So if you have a business or know anyone with a business who might be interested in sponsoring our club in 2015 please contact me. Last year s gear will remain the same but we will have more exciting products available. I have attached photos at the end of this newsletter and these items will be available to order at Sign on Days and throughout the season. We will have samples on sign on day to try on so come and see us. FAMILY FUN DAY To celebrate 25 years the club is looking at hosting a family fun day in May this year. We will be looking at jumping castles, face painting, fairy floss, parents vs kids netball games, 3 legged races plus much more. We are calling for any help to organize this day.
