HUNTER & EQUITATION CLASS SPECIFICATIONS HUNTER COURSES: Courses will simulate fences found in the hunting field such as brush, wall, in & out, oxer, post and rails, aiken, and panels. In some classes a mandatory line may restrict the area of the courtesy circle. This line will be indicated on the course diagram and physically in the ring by use of bushes, wood markers, or cones. JUMPER CLASS SPECIFICATIONS JUMPER COURSES: Courses to consist of any combination of the following: brush, gates, oxers, post and rail, Liverpool, wall, panels, bank, and coops. Time allowed is based on 382 yards per minute unless otherwise noted. ORDER OF GO: Computer generated. A systematic rotation of the starting list will be employed throughout the classes of each section so that a complete cycle is made during the competition. AWARDS: Ribbons 1 6; Champion and Reserve Champion awarded in each section with three classes, using 10, 6, 4, 2, 1, ½. For the first two classes and 15-9-6-3-2-1 for the final class (Bonus pts) Prize Money distribution for Jumper Classes: 30%, 22%, 15%, 12%, 11%, 10%. ENTRY FEE: $35/class unless specified. ADDITIONAL SPECS: Ties for other than first place will be decided by the time taken in the first round. Formal attire requested for Classics. GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS EVERY CLASS OFFERED HEREIN WHICH IS COVERED BY THE RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CURRENT US EQUESTRIAN RULE BOOK WILL BE CONDUCTED AND JUDGED IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH. Stabling: All Stalls are $120. All Stalls come with doors; no initial bedding provided. Stalls will be limited and will be taken on a first come first serve basis. Stalls are available at 4pm Wednesday (no schooling on Wednesday) and must be vacated by end of show on Sunday. A Grounds Fee of $25 will be charged to each entry if a stall is not required. Entries: Entries are accepted on a first come first serve basis and will be accepted up to noon the day before the show. After this time a $25 late fee will be assessed. Horses may not be schooled until a signed entry form has been submitted with the secretary. Only entries with the required USEF/USHJA membership numbers and a blank check to cover fees will be considered valid. Any participant showing in classes not entered will be charged a rode not entered fee of $10 per class. If participants are not a member of the USEF and/or the USHJA the required non-member fees will be charged. All exhibitors in the Junior Hunter, Small Hunter and classes restricted to ponies must present their measurement card prior to acceptance of entry into those classes; Amateurs must present their Amateur certification before their entry will be accepted into classes requiring amateur certification. Measurement will be at Noon on Friday for those entries requiring measurement. Fees: A $35 Operations fee will be added to each horse. You will also be required to pay a $2 per horse USHJA Zone Support Fee plus USEF $8 and USEF Drug $8 total $16. Refunds: Participants having to scratch entirely from the show once the show has started will be refunded their entry fees only if a signed veterinarian s certificate is received in the show office by the official show veterinarian. Once stalls have been reserved they are non-refundable. Should management have to cancel classes/divisions/that cannot be re-scheduled due to inclement weather and/or any other emergency situation there may be no refunds on any and all fees. Non-Showing Horses: A fee of $100/horse will be charged for each non-showing horse. Motorized Vehicles: Per GR 1301.7 Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The Parent(s), legal guardians(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operation a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. Prize Money: If required by management, premiums of the competition will be paid to all competitors that have provided Social Security numbers, Federal ID numbers or Tax Identification numbers to the competition secretary. It is the sole responsibility of the competitor to provide the competition secretary with accurate payee information, including Social Security number, Federal ID number, or Tax Identification number, payee name and address. The above mentioned premiums may be paid at checkout but no later than 30 days after the last day of the competition provide all above requirements have been met. Leash Law: All dogs must be on a leash when on show grounds. Any owner whose dog interrupts a competitor s round will be subject to the payment of the class interrupted. Poling: Manual poling and use of bamboo offsets are prohibited at all times while on show grounds. Exhibitors found in violation will forfeit all entry fees for that showing day or day afterwards and may be excluded from showing for 24 hours upon any incident recorded with Management and the USEF Steward. Medical Waste: Due to Federal Regulations, all medical waste must be separated. Receptacles (sharps containers) are provided for hypodermic needle waste. Failure to use them will be result in a $100 fine per needle found. PLEASE DO NOT MIX NEEDLES WITH THE MANURE OR TRASH!

Helmets: It is compulsory for riders in all Hunter, Jumper and Hunt Seat Equitation classes where jumping is required, when jumping anywhere on the competition grounds, and when riding in the show rings to wear a properly fastened protective headgear which meets or exceeds ASTM/SEI standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. Helmets must be properly fitted with harness secured. Any rider violating this rule at any time must immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headgear is properly in place. Horse Identification: All horses competing in US Equestrian Federation recognized competitions (except those activities enumerated in Art. 1401-6) must be properly identified and must obtain a USHJA Registration. Anyone knowingly applying for a duplicate number for an individual horse may be subject to disciplinary action. Management: Management reserves the right to refuse, accept conditionally, and to cancel any entry, disqualify exhibitor(s), prohibit exhibition of entries and cancel awards of prizes without claims for damages. Divisions may combine or cancel if insufficient entries warrant; Management reserves the right to amend the Tentative Time Schedule as it deems necessary. Neither Roberts Arena, Country Heir Horse Shows and it s employees, Frankie Stark, Dean Rheinheimer will be responsible in any way for loss or damage, to any persons, animals, or property or equipment including that that may be caused by any horse or pony entered by Exhibitor or due to the carelessness or negligence of the person or persons in charge of such horse or pony or their subordinates. This shall be the condition of entry to the show and show grounds. Championship & Reserve: Hunters & Equitation: Champion and Reserve Champion title will be awarded to two of the four horses acquiring the most points over fences in each applicable section. In addition to these points, only these four horses will receive full points for under saddle classes. Points to determine awards are as follows: 10,6,4,2,1,1/2. Jumpers: Champion and Reserve Champion title will be awarded to the two horses which have acquired the most points in each Jumper section that offers 3 or more classes/section. The last class in each section will be awarded bonus pts towards show champion at a value of 15-9-6-3-2-1. In the event of a tie, the award will be made jointly. Prize Money awarded in each jumper section will count towards their respective USEF Horse of the Year Awards. Points to determine awards are as follows: 10,6,4,2,1,1/2 except where noted. Back Numbers: A signature is required on each entry form for each rider that rides that horse. Anyone found riding an entry while displaying a back number assigned to others without first having the new rider s signature attached to that entry will be considered in noncompliance. This signature is the sole responsibility of the rider. Riders found not in good standing will be subject to the penalty of the Federation as stated in GR908.2 & 3 and may be subject to disqualification and/or expulsion as well as an automatic $250 fine payable to USEF. Health Papers: Current Coggins (taken within the past 12 months) and 30 Day Health Certificate for out of state horses must be available to the show office. Schooling: Open Schooling Over Fences to take place on Thursday, from 1pm 7pm; Flatting is available 6:30 7:30 each morning of competition. (the Federation ) and the local rules of the competition. I agree to be bound by the Bylaws and Rules of the Federation and of the competition. I will accept as final the decision of the Hearing Committee on any question arising under the Rules, and agree to release and hold harmless the competition, the Federation, their officials, directors and employees for any action taken under the Rules. The construction and application of Federation rules are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and any action instituted against the Federation must be filed in New York State. See GR908.4.
