Parents and Potential Cheerleaders, MYERS PARK CHEERLEADING Thank you for your interest in trying out for the 2014 2015 Myers Park High School Cheerleading Program! Tryouts will be held on June 17 20, 2014. We are excited to begin gearing up for what is sure to be a great season filled with hard work, lots of fun, big goals, and new traditions. Our cheerleaders are some of the most visible students at Myers Park and in the community, and they are held to the highest of expectations and standards by our coaching staff. Cheerleaders who are selected for a team must make a substantial time commitment in order for our teams to run efficiently and successfully. Our cheerleaders support Myers Park High School athletics at all regular and playoff football and basketball games as well as competing on the regional and state level (both Varsity and JV teams). In this packet you will find the following documents: 2014 2015 Tryout Application 2014 2015 Parent and Cheerleader Permission Forms 2014 2015 Financial Commitments 2014 2015 Tryout Information, Expectations & Requirements Sample Tryout Score Sheet and Tumbling Point Ranges Varsity and JV Optional June/July Practice Schedule Varsity and JV Mandatory August Practice & Camp Schedule (If you already know you cannot make these mandatory August practices, please do not try out! We HIGHLY encourage you to read through our Cheerleading Program Rules and Regulations Packet before you make the decision to try out. This packet is very detailed and explains all of the high expectations to which we hold each cheerleader and how we conduct our program. This packet can be found on both the Myers Park JV and Varsity Cheerleading Fall Sports websites on the right side of the page under the Cheerleading Forms section (link below). We fully believe that making the decision to tryout should be a family decision and not just the cheerleader s decision. Should your child make either the Varsity or JV team, the family is just as committed as the cheerleader is to helping our program run successfully all season. Please print and read all of the information in this packet carefully to be sure you and your cheerleader understand what will be expected of them before trying out.
