A full event schedule is included in this guide and on our website. CycleNation is a movement to empower the nation to use cycling to help Americans get brain and heart healthywhile raising funds to continue vital community programs and support research to end stroke and heart disease. STAGING AND START CHUTE All riders need to check-in the morning of the ride, even if they picked up their packet the night before. It is very important for traffic flow and safety reasons that you enter the correct staging area for the ride you are participating in. CHIP IDENTIFICATION There are chips attached to the back of your bib so we can identify you as you cross the finish line. Chips will be in your goody bag that you will receive at packet pick-up. As we are a noncompetitive event, times are not published, so we encourage you to wear a personal timepiece if you would like to know your time. SAG AND MECHANIC SUPPORT In case of a mechanical or personal issue, please refer to the phone number on the back of your rider bib. Call the number and you will reach the command post, we will assist you with your need. SAG vehicles will carry spare water, tubes, tire pump and can assist with minor mechanical needs. In case of an emergency, call 911. A secondary call maybe placed to the phone number on the back of your bib. Mechanical service is provided prior to the start of the ride at Wente Vineyard by Mike s Bikes of Pleasonton. Additional mechanical support will be provided by SAG vehicles. Please call the phone number on the back of your bib to alert the command post of your mechanical need. Locally Sponsored By CYCLENATION RIDE EVENT ROUTES 100 MILES - START TIME 7:30AM* Challenge level: Moderate to difficult With an overall gain of 4009 vertical feet, this route proves to be challenging yet scenic. Starting around mile 12, you will tackle your first pass of the day. The middle section of this route will take you into gorgeous rolling terrain, at mile 20 you will begin your out-and-back portion of the ride, up to Brentwood and back. Time to tackle your second pass of the day, Patterson Pass Rd. From here on out, it s a scenic ride back to the finish line. 50 MILES - START TIME 9AM* Challenge level: Moderate This ride provides scenic roads and moderate terrain. You will have an opportunity to test your climbing skills on Patterson Rd. around mile marker 29. Once you have crested this local iconic climb the ride will bring you back into the valley and vineyards. 25 MILES - START TIME 10AM* Challenge level: Easy to moderate The 25-mile ride is great for participants relatively new to cycling or those who would rather enjoy the scenery. With no extensive climbs, but rather two small hill challenges, the total vertical gain for the entire ride is only 892 feet. The route will wind through the local vineyards and surrounding foot hills as you head to the finish line.

BAG & BIKE VALET Free bag and bike valet will be available on both Firday night and Satrday. Stop by and drop off your bag, bike, keys and any other items you would like stored while you are at Wente Vineyards. RULES OF THE ROAD Your safety is ery important to us! Please note that all roads will be OPEN along the course. All participants, volunteers and spectators should take extra caution when driving near the venue and routes. Cyclists shoudl visit the Bike League of America s website for safety tips and group ride guidelines. REST STOPS Rest stops will be approximately every 12 to 15 miles along each route. Rest stops will provide appropriate snacks to keep you fueled and beverages to keep you hydrated. WHAT DO I NEED TO PREPARE FOR THE RIDE? All riders should be prepared for the weather. We are a rain or shine event. Please be sure your bike is in good riding condition by having it serviced prior to the event by a local bike mechanic. Wear a HELMET! This is mandatory Bring a spare tire tube, air: CO2 or hand pump and tire levers At least two water bottles 16 to 24oz A small snack for your jersey pocket Hydrate well the day before the ride Appropriate cycling clothing - shorts with a pad, jersey and gear for the weather if needed Sunglasses Your cell phone Riding gloves Add appropriate air/tire pressure to your tires the morning of the ride Sunscreen - apply morning of the ride Bring a change of clothes for the post ride festival Riding with ear bud is not allowed on the course Showers will be available for all participants!
EVENT MAP The American Heart Association American Stroke Association prohibits smoking at our events. We ask that you do not smoke on the course or at Wente Vineyards. PARTICIPANT AND VOLUNTEER PARKING Participants and volunteers may park in the lot adjacent to Arroyo Road.
