Firebirds of the Week Congratulations!! Anna Riley, Senior Girls Cross Country Anna has been a member of the Lady Firebirds Cross Country Team the past two years, since moving back to Lawrence from Germany. She was challenged by an injury last year, along with learning a new training system. This year she has been healthy and focused on being the best runner and teammate she can be. Anna s hard work and determination has led to her running some of her best times ever! In addition, she has become a leader on our team as she often will jump in and get the team activities started, whether that is warming-up or helping at the team campout. Watching how much Anna is enjoying her team this year is inspiring. Brock Cordova, Sophomore Boys Cross Country Brock is a very talented student-athlete coupled with being a person who is driven and determined to be his best in all aspects of his life. His efforts alone would be enough to lead by example; however, Brock s value to our team goes beyond his own achievements. Brock is a student-athlete who understands the value of team and shows excellence in caring and being considerate of his teammates. We are lucky to have Brock as a member of the Firebirds Cross Country Team!
