Rules and Regulations 1. Agreement 1.1 The Bedok Reservoir Ekiden Relay Race is governed by the GA!S 2018 General Rules and Regulations 1.2 Completion of the official online registration confirms the participant s agreement to abide by the relevant race Rules and Regulations. 2. Indemnity and Safety 2.1 While every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organiser to ensure the Participants safety, Participants run at their own risk and the Organiser will not be responsible or held liable for any loss or damage, personal or otherwise, injury or death, howsoever arising during participation in the race. 2.2 Participants are advised not to run if they are not feeling well. A Participant must retire from the race immediately, if required to do so by any member of the official medical staff, race director, referee and/or Security Officer. 3. Eligibility & Registration S/No Category Clarification 1 Youth 13 to 16 years old, born between 2002 to 2005 (year inclusive) 2 Master 3 Open 4 Corporate (Individual and Team) 40 years old and above, born on or before 1978 (year inclusive) 17 years old and above, born on or before 2001 (year inclusive) 17 years old and above, born on or before 2001 (year inclusive). 4 members in a team (Each team shall comprise minimum 3 runners of the same gender) **Corporate Category is for participants representing MNCs, SMEs, IHLs, Clubs, Associations, Government Agencies and Unions. Event Venue & Schedule 4.1 The event will be held at Bedok Reservoir Park: Date Timing Event 4/5 August 2018 0900hrs to 1900hrs Race Entry Pack Collection at Yio Chu Kang Sports Centre 9 th August 2018 0730hrs to 1200hrs Race Day Note: all above may change once the entries are finalised *** Participants who sign up for both Sentosa Adventure Race and Bedok Reservoir Ekiden Race can collect the race pack on 3/4 Aug between 1200 to 21300 hrs 5. Participants 5.1 The Open Category is open to any individual above the age of 17 as at 9 th August 2018 5.2 Participants under 16 years old are required to download the SNG consent indemnity form, have it signed by their parent/guardian and submitted to the registration counter before the start of the race. 5.3 Race Category and race entry are strictly non-transferable. 5.4 All participants must meet the age criteria, as at date of race 5.5 Teams participating in the Ekiden relay race shall comprise of 3 runners 5.6 The finishing timings of all three runners in a team shall be aggregated to determine the position of the teams. 5.7 A runner is allowed to register in only one team and it must be in the same category as the individual event that he or she is participating 5.8 In the event of race cancellation, participants' entry fees shall not be refunded. 5.9 Usage of mobile devices and portable media players is not recommended during the race. 6. Competition Format 6.1 Participants competing in the Individual Run are required to run 1 round (est 5.3km) around Bedok Reservoir Park. 6.2 For the team events, the transition point will be at the Wawawa Restaurant Area 6.3 Each team shall comprise minimum 3 runners with at least one different gender except for youth team category 7. Prize Money and Medals. 7.1 Winning Medals and Prize monies will be awarded only to the Top 5 of each categories 7.2 If there are only 3 participants for the event, minus 1 rule applies, ie only 1st & 2nd will be awarded with medal but no prize money. 7.3 If there are less than 3 participants or teams, they may choose 1 of the following options: Option 1 Participants may continue with the competition but will not be eligible for prize money. Medals will be awarded based on the minus 1 rule. Option 2 Participants may opt to join another category which they are eligible. 7.4 Details of Prize Money will be published on GA!S 2018 official website on a later date. 8. Wearing of Race Bibs 8.1 Participants must wear the assigned number bib as instructed. Participants who are not wearing the number bib will not be allowed to enter the starting area and will be taken off the course by security officers 8.2 Participants must wear their number bibs prominently in front of their t-shirts or running vests. 9. Runner s Entitlement 9.1 Runner apparel sizes are strictly non-exchangeable after 5 th August 2018. Participants are advised to check the running apparel size chart provided on the registration form before choosing their preferred sizing. 9.2 All Participants will be awarded with a finisher medals at the end of their races. 10 Disqualification 10.1 The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify a participant if he/she: a) Registered in an ineligible category b) Did not meet the age criteria c) Fail to wear the number bibs assigned to him/her d) Giving incorrect personal information e) Argue or confront any race officials 10.2 Sale and/or unauthorised transfer of race entries/bibs is strictly prohibited and will result in the disqualification and/or banning of individuals involved from future events. 11 Reporting 11.1 All participants should proceed to the start line 15 minutes prior to the start of race (different categories). To ensure a smooth race, participants will be flagged off in waves of 30 minutes intervals. 11.2 Organiser will contact you via email and short message services on your respective category reporting timings. 11.3 Runners must be punctual, and will not be allowed to run if they miss the flag-off time. 11.4 Participants are to complete the course in the race before the cut-off time specified by the organizer. 11.5 The first flag off time is 0730hrs and the last flag off time is 1000hrs.
