One of the activities coming up this fall is the Michigan Foxhunters Weekend. This is a tradition among the Battle Creek, Waterloo, and Metamora Hunts. Once each season we meet at one of the three Michigan hunts to socialize and hunt together. This year we gather here in Metamora on the weekend of September 28-30, our 90th year in our Hunt Country. Members of the hunts are invited to enjoy the activities and even if you re unable to ride that weekend you can still join in and experience the traditions of the other Michigan hunts. Try to join us. Metamora Hunt Opening Day Saturday - September 22nd The finale of the weekend will be The Metamora Hunt Hunter Trials which will take place on Sunday, September 30, and if you re unable to ride in the Hunter Trials, everyone is invited to join us in watching this exciting event. More information can be found at metamorahunt.com.

Additional News: Hunter Trials - Sept. 30th Please save the date and join us for for this annual spectacular! Opening Day of formal fox hunting for the Metamora Hunt is Saturday, Sept. 22nd. In addition to our Members, all Landowners and other Hunt Supporters are most welcome to attend on foot. The Opening Day Meet will be held at the Reynolds' family polo field on Rock Valley Rd. just west of Delano Rd. The crowd will begin to gather just after 9am. Please find your way to the center of the field. Be sure to bring your friends, but not your pets, and do bring your camera! Please keep in mind that you may have to park some distance from the gathering and will need to walk to the site. Please drive slowly as you will encounter horses and pedestrians on the roads. Be sure to only park on only one side of any road and be respectful of any "no parking" signs. Please join us for a Memorable Day! The Metamora Hunt Hunter Trials will be held on Sunday, September 30th at Hunters Run Farm on Casey Rd. We are pleased to announce that MFH Deborah Bates Pace will once again be the Show Organizer and we hope that you will mark your calendars now and plan on joining us for a wonderful day on a new course at beautiful Hunters Run Farm. Riders who are not current 2018-2019 Riding Members are welcome to Cap, with permission from one of our MFH's. Please contact our Honorary Secretary Michelle Mortier for additional

All riders will be greeted by Metamora Hunt Volunteers and names will be checked against a list of Riding Members, and Cappers that have permission and liability releases made in advance. St. Hubert Medals will also be given at the Check-In Station. Cappers: We encourage guest riders (Cappers) to attend our Opening Day Meet! Give your envelope to the Hunt Volunteer at the Check In Station. Please come and join us, this is an experience you will remember for a very long time! Pony Club News By Lisa McCormack The Youth Hunt on August 6th had representation from two of our Metamora Hunt II Pony Club members; Moriah and Alexis. Moriah rode her horse Miley and Alexis rode Pony Club sponsor Gay Kent s horse Indy. Riders and mounts compete over an outside course which includes permanent fences similar to those found in the hunt field: coops, aikens, stone walls, water, line fences, and so on. The Follow the Hounds class simulates the activity and tradition of the Hunt, while the teams and pairs classes demonstrate how well horses go in company. Hunter Trials Info and Entry forms here: http://www.metamorahunt.com/for ms/ There were quite a few testings this month. One of our new members Olivia G did her very first testing Questions to: Mrs. Deborah Bates Pace, MFH: 810.678.8762

at Apple Grove Farm and is now a D1. Ella received her C1 eventing certification at Brookside Farm in South Lyon at a regional testing. Kaila, one of our upper level members, traveled to South Farm in Middlefield Ohio for a national certification test. After two full days of testing, Kaila received her national rating of C3 in eventing. Congratulations girls!! Save the Date! Fall Hunter Pace - October 7th Starting at 9am On the 20th, our club held a service meeting at Banbury Cross Therapeutic Equestrian Center in Oxford. We helped them prepare for their annual horse show by painting the railing on the front ramp and porch, weeding their flower beds, cleaning the front paddock and picking up rocks from the outdoor arena. Metamora Hunt Photos We are most fortunate to have Mr. Peter Gilles photograph many of our hunts and activities. Many of the photos in our monthly newsletters were taken by Peter. To view more of Peter's photos just click on: http://www.metamoraphoto.com/gallery/index.p hp?cat=13 Gather your friends! Ride English or Western. Come ride with us at your own pace.
